1. Given the glowing review of the RM-112T cab by Kevin Dean: http://basschat.co.u...-super-compact/ I'd say that Will's cab for sale here repesents some serious value for money!
2. A quick google search showed a response on the Barefaced wesbite to the same question as mine - from August last year - the replacement loom to convert to 4ohms was £30. Cool.
3.
I've done the conversion. It's simple to do. BF sent me a clear manual, it's easy.
Cheers for that, do you mind sharing how much the stuff cost? PM me if you don't want to put it here.
4.
Just bought an EBS pedal from Lewis. Seamless transaction, item arrived in original box, with all original instructions, and very promptly too. Can highly recommend!
Glad to hear it got to you safely Lee, enjoy!
5.
Ask them for some tolex glue while you're at it.....!
6. Should have a two10 heading my way this week It's a 12ohm version and I'm looking at getting the stuff from BF to convert to 4ohm, which I'm led to believe is a relatively simple swap job. Has anyone done this? Does anyone know how much BF charge for the conversion kit? I have emailed them directly but no response as yet..
7. I remember when these came out, I think that BIN price is actually pretty good. Bass direct have a earlier version of this bass selling at £750! http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Fender_Jazz_Bass_Special_red.html The neck and bridge is different but the body (and I suspect the electronics) is the same....
8. Sold an EBS Billy Sheehan pedal to Lee, great communication and paid as soon as we agreed on price. Cheers Lee!
9. No Problem - happy to help!
10. Oh man - shame we're so far apart, I've got a pair of super compacts and I'd happily trade you one for this. Exactly how far northeast are you?
11.
Loving the natural one with black hardware.
Yep, very cool!
12. I'm glad I'm not using backline at the moment (using in-ears), otherwise my credit card would have been out of my wallet like a bat out of hell. Really, I don't need this amp.
13.
Hi, would you mind explaining your pedal set up? I've seen the Jon Willis set up, do you use any other pedals into the EBS? Thanks, Damian
Sure, no problem Damian. In it's simplest form, you plug the Split-P pickup output into the 'normal' input of the EBS pedal. Then plug the woofer pickup output into the 'clean loop' with a standard cable. What happens when you do this is the 'clean' volume on the pedal only comes from the woofer pickup, and the drive channel controls are only fed from the split-P pickup. You can then control the balance between the 2 signals with each volume knob on the pedal (and/or the bass if you like). I also like to roll the tone completely off on the woofer pickup, this helps even more with the frequency separation. There's a great youtube video by Erik Arko (another great contributor to the attiude FB page) which shows the acheived sound with this setup really well. Here: https://www.youtube....h?v=OaMxy46fZxU Enjoy! This will work with either of the EBS Billy Sheehan pedals. EDIT: For my own personal setup (deluxe model pedal), I also have an octaver in-between the woofer pup output and the clean loop, for occasional use. I have the drive all the way down, and the tone at about 10 o'clock. Then use the 'boost' button for extra drive as necessary. Boost internal trim pot set to max. Phase switch set to normal and compressor set to high.
14.
Snap The LEDs in action:
That's a fine looking setup!
15.
I have 'liked' the Attitude FB page and yes there are some very knowledgable and friendly guys on there! I did see a post from Jon Willis about using an EBS pedal to use both outputs to a single amp, looks like my Hyperdrive pedal is going to be replaced now then!
Yeah Jon Willis is a very cool guy, always posting some new way to connect certain things up to acheive tonal heaven! I can whole heartidly recommend the EBS Sheehan pedals, I've had both versions and currently use the deluxe model. Rigged up using both outputs, it's the best sound I've ever had, by a country mile.
16.
How do you kill someone with a carrot?
Slowly.
17. Location?, this is very nice!, the thumbnail doesn't do it justice, check out the google pictures link! Wow! Also might be helpful to say if you will accept trade offers..
18. Good luck BigWan. You never know! FWIW I think they're a great looking Bass....Very Versatile too with all the Pup configurations..
19.
what about the strings being out of line with the neck - that really worries me!
If you look at the last couple of pictures, the alignment is OK. My best guess would be that he took those pictures after re-attaching the neck and lining it up properly. It's a 3-bolt neck, they can and do move a bit.
20. Seems to have been relisted. Everything looks legit to me on the listing that's there now... Neck pocket and neck stamps look good. Serial number on the back of the scratchplate. 76 decals were all over the place, it's well known. At the £1300 starting price it's at now, I'd call it a bit of a bargain. Have a look what they're asking for mid 70's Fenders in the London shops. If I was considering buying (I'm not, I have a 75 that's essentially the same) I'd ask for a close up pic of the pickup serial numbers, and the pot codes. This will date everything you need to know and you can buy without worry or walk away fully informed. HTH.
21. Now at £505, come on - who's bidding!?!?! It's not me!
22. Always bought rotos until about this time last year. TBH I didn't know the difference from one string to another. Then one day I needed strings. Called into my local music shop and all they had was a set of picato 40-100. Not ideal I thought, but needs must. Put them on and thought - 'oh' these feel nice. Looked at the packet and there you go, Nickel Wound. Eyes opened. Went on a quest after that and have arrived at Dunlop Super Bright Nickels, 45-105. Very low tension, feel great under fingers (fretting and plucking hand) and really do last ages. Ever get that feeling like the bass is fighting you back? I don't any more...string-wise, they're all I'm buying for now.. EDIT: YMMV!
23. Also, if you're on Facebook, there's a group page dedicated to the Attitude Basses, which Billy is a member of and regularly chips in on stuff. Well worth a visit. Some very knowledgable guys on there. I have 2 Attitudes, a black version 2, and a blue version 3. What I will say is they really come alive when you use both outputs, and although it is definitely the best way to experience it, you don't always need 2 amps to do this. You can use the EBS Billy sheehan pedal (either standard or deluxe version) to get a very good sound using both pickups (I do exactly that)..
24.
Pm me what you have Lewis, 4 string Basses only, you never know
Incoming!
