  1. I have a 90's foundation with VFL's. My #1 gigging bass.
  2. Peavey necks come highly recommended. Look out for a USA fury, or a Foundation for jazz configuration.
  3. Mikey Way has a slightly.less chunky neck than the VM too
  4. Beware the lack of definition with a proper mudbucker. The Mikey Way is a a tame humbucker which to be honest suits it better.
  5. Just picked up a used Mikey Way mustang for £149. Came with flats which I don't think suited the humbucker. Restoring with fender roundwounds has done the trick.
  6. Hi - I'm a 55 year old bassist, been playing for a while, and spent the last few years playing Rock & Blues, with bands like Devils Creek and Blacktop Deluxe. I'm currently working in a funk / blues / rock band - Handbrake Turn. I've had lots of Amps and basses over the years, Precision / Jazz / Rickenbacker / Danelectro / Thunderbird / Stingray / T40 / Tokai etc, but currently playing a Peavey Foundation (The World's best kept secret!), a bitsa pbass, and a Mustang, through Ashdown and HH heads, and Trace Elliot and Genz Cabs. I started off playing in a punk band back in '76, and have played a bit of soul / jazz rock / folk rock and afro rock too! - it's been a long strange trip. I'm a self taught simplistic player with no formal knowledge - I've been getting away with it for a long time! Happy to be here, and a big hello to you all!
