2. nice basses, don't know about that gibson though, control panel looks like something from a nuclear reactor.
3.
Too bad about the custom charge. They are top of the range Fender Japan so you got it for a good price even with the customs charge.
Well it plays like a top range machine. It was playing well right out of the bag, I always assume I'll have to set it up, but it's perfectly fine. It sounds good, I thought for that price it was going to want pickup change, but it's good.
4. Name me an interesting John Myung bassline or solo. I haven't heard his stuff, just seen his video, which wasn't very good.
5. Got this today, it's lovely, much prettier in the flesh. Got a £90 custom charge though.
6. Like the attitudes, I'd be intersted to see what they're like to play on.
7. Jeff Berlin slaps too doesn't he? On the bill bruford album I'm sure I heard some slap bass stuff.
8. yeah.. When I started playing, I couldn't wait to learn slap bass, and now that I can do it, I never use it, and I only ever hear people mention how uncool a technique it is, so much so that I think I hate it myself now! I think of it more like a party trick.
9. I think it's important to get to a stage where you are happy with the way you play, ie your sound, and your approach. Obviously we all want to improve certain aspects, to learn new styles and techniques, that will continue forever, but it's not true that none of us are ever happy, or that getting there isn't possible, otherwise I don't think it'd be worth bothering with.
10. Technique is something else though, technique is easy, like jaco pastorius said, you could teach a monkey to play what he plays.. Musical ability is another matter, that's what takes the real practice.
11. 911 tabs is good, it gives you all the avaiable versions on the net, GP versions too.
12.
I have her big brother and I'm very happy with it.
Infact, if you wanna trade...
13. I would have sooner gotten a P like your one, but a j will do.

15. thingy? Looks like a watch to me, stick it on there so he doesn't leave the stage without it.
16. Oh, I see.
17. Why loosen the strings when sending instruments?
18. Is it me, or does everybody keep seeing these: style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) instead of the actual smile thing? and same with images too. It does work sometimes, but most of the time I just see those instead.
19. That was cool, haven't seen that one before, but his tone sounds much brighter than usual, I don't think I liked it in that vid.. Who uses the hartke amp? and that tone again... sounds like it's a guitar being played with a pick..

21. I've played this at Steve's house before, it's a lovely bass, I was like OMG, never held a bass this nice before in my life, no lie!
22. Okay!
23.
Drifting a little from the topic, you're the first person I've seen mentioning Eggle Bass, what are they like? I've still got a Vienna (guitar) by them that I love. Just wondering is all.
There's been a Milan 4 in my local cash converters for over a year now, stupidly over priced. I played it the last time I was in there, I hated it, didn't like the feel of it, and found it really hard to play on. Can't tell you about the sound, couldn't plug it in.
24.
I had a pint - that helped a lot
Agreed, 1 does seem to calm any old nerves.
25. I'm 22. I recondition laptops and desktops, and other electrical crap, but I don't know what I'm doing, I play the guitar and bass, and am supposed to be studying.
