SADOWSKY METROLINE RV4 BASS - MADE IN JAPAN (2008) - WITH ORIGINAL CASE IN LAKE PLACID BLUE.

May take a trade with something vintage (Bass/Amps/Pedals) with cash either way

Superb condition with original case and instructions. The bass has zero fretwear. These are around £2800 now the build quality is out standing and the bass rings like a bell (alder body)  - just a wonderful instrument!

Not to be confused with the more recent (and inferior) Chinese built MetroExpress basses, this is a fantastic Tokyo built MetroLine RV4.

Please note - this is an earlier non VTC version.

    Price includes U.K. delivery

I had my first show last night with my new Shure GLXD16+. I had the transmitter just clipped to my back pocket as my levy’s pouch hadn’t arrived in time. I must say that the Shure is absolutely worth the money, the unit is absolutely solid with 0 issues for me last night, the tuner is brilliant and easy to see on stage. Would recommend the unit to everyone. We did a 45 minute set and the battery is still displaying as full, the battery has around 12-14 hours life apparently so I won’t really need to charge it again for quite a while! The unit syncs itself instantly so no waiting around awkwardly for it to sync. No noticeable delay/latency whatsoever. Amazing unit, If you’re on the fence, buy one!

Absolutely 100% correct. It's just the best one out there imo, not the cheapest, but the best.

To what? I’m not sure how you would damage one, the Shure ones are almost bombproof.

The only thing I don’t like about the Shure transmitters are the flimsy little rubber covers on the charging port.

They’re useless, but thankfully superfluous. Are the ones on the updated version any better?

Yes the rubber things used to be terrible, the newer ones have the problem solved and are much better

I’m probably in the minority, but my transmitter stays with me, clipped onto the outside of my back pocket. The clips on these are really strong and I’ve not had an issue with them falling off. I like to keep the transmitter with me so when I change basses I can stay with the same pack. I have another transmitter, but that’s on rotation when the charge in the other one runs out.

I always take the clip off, pop it in the Levys pouch and mount it on the strap. Changing basses I just unplug then unclip the strap locks and swap strap and trans.

Well .. I’ve decided to return my Boss WL-50 and I’ve ordered the Shure GLXD16+ !!

I like the idea of the tuner and dual band

Now question for other users where do you have the transmitter ? Back pocket, belt, strap or strap holster ?

    Levys strap pouch 👌

Do you need line of sight with your Shure?

Which model Shure is your sax player using which you're finding is dropping out?

It’s on my pedalboard so I’m sure it’s normally for line of sight to me, I’m a bassist remember not a egomaniac runway loving guitarist 😉

See I get that but my cheap 5.8ghz wireless dongle has never dropped out, never clashed, sounds fine, works every time with no effort. I don't have and won't have stages to 10,000s so I don't have to worry about that, but I can't see anything else being better - especially as I don't need anything on the pedalboard for it.

I guess I don't trust Shure that much, the only wireless things we have trouble with is the Shure wireless on the sax. It clicks all the time, needs new batteries every gig and is generally a pain.

I get that too, if it works for you without issues that’s grand. Like I said a decent lead will also do the same job for much cheaper. We are all different thankfully otherwise it would be a boring old place.

Walshy, if I was back in the UK this would be getting played to death and you'd be £300 better off right now. Love the look of these instruments, have been on the alert for  one for ages. Honestly surprised it's still here at this price. GLWTS ~ grudgingly 😂.

Thanks, bloody good things for the cash and I’m sure they’re still on a waiting list atm, I thought £300 would see it away by now too 🤷‍♂️

@walshy you've got bags of large stage/audience live experience that most of us can't compare to.

What is it about the Shure that makes it worth the extra coin and sets it apart from the competition?

It's unfortunately not always the case that spending extra buys your extra though eg if you compare Shure IEM headphones to eg KZ ZS10 pros you can be spending 5x as much for a no better product (and many on the IEM thread would actually say the Shures are inferior) simply down to the brand name.

And we all know that a £3k bass isn't necessarily going to be better than something costing significantly less!

It’s the fact that I have never ever had a drop

out or any problem with them for years now.

I’ve used others early on and had issues with them cutting out, especially the Line 6 G50/70 and even the Sennheiser too. Clashes on frequencies too when others in the band have used similar wireless stuff. Even when we all sound checked and selected different channels there was always an issue. Aeroplane mode on phones etc selected too, still has problems.

Once I changed to the Shure, I never had an issue, drop out, clashes or any noticeable latency at all. Whether playing to a few hundred at a pub or 10k festival stuff, no problems ever. They just work, well. I’ve used multiple packs with one receiver on the pedalboard and they swap and select with ease. Oh and it has a built in tuner of course, runs off either the Noble or a Cioks DC7 and not a bother.

I do use a Boss WL50 at home when I’m swapping between basses etc just noodling but I’d never gig it again. The shure is the dogs danglies.

You spend all your cash on basses, amps, pedals etc, loads of time practicing, fuel to and from rehearsals/gigs etc, why wouldn’t you buy the one bit of kit that makes it work without any issues ( yes it’s expensive) ?

    Obviously just my opinion.

Or a decent lead of course 😂

  10. Ive used and gigged the GLXD and the new + and they are both miles better than anything I have used before. Boss, Line 6, Sennheiser, they are just not as good as the Shure. Expensive, yes but you get what you pay for imo.

I was going to ask whether it's financially astute to return it to original - @walshy suggests not.

Even so if it has sentimental value I'd think about it. I'd expect a Gibson to increase in value over time so maybe one day....

Finding the right bits, probably importing them and then making it 'stock' will cost way more than you think and Im not sure you'd see the return back. Man, if you like it, it's yours, sounds and plays well and if you don't need the cash just leave well alone. There isn't another one like it out there so just enjoy it would be my advice.
