  1. Do Wizard pickups have the tonal quality that BK's do? I have had no experience of them so would be buying blind. I have BK Mississipi Queens in a SG and I love them. They have such a rich musical quality, with no harshness what so ever. I know the BK's are more expensive than the Wizards, but just because something is more expensive it doesn't necessarily mean it's better. Anyone got any Wizards in a Jazz?
  2. Cheers for that, how would you describe the Wizards?
  3. Hi, I'm planning on changing the pickups in my Jazz Bass. I was considering trying a set of Bare Knuckles. I have a set of BK P90's in a guitar and would honestly say they are about as good as it gets! Never heard their bass pups though. Anyone used em? Cheers, Mario.
  4. Has anyone out there used one of these Mark Bass Mark Stands, the little fold away stand that kicks back your cab? I'm using a 4x10, and lately been doing some quite small gigs where I'm fairly close up against my cab. All the sound is hitting me in the back of the legs. Don't know if they'd be strong enough to kick back a fairly weighty 4x10 though. Anyone any suggestions? Cheers!!
  5. Fast Fret, darkens the wood, makes it feel great and cleans your strings! Really easy to apply, cost about a fiver and lasts for ages!!
  6. Hi, is the cab still for sale or has it gone? Cheers, Mario.

  9. Ahhh, got ya! Cheers for that. I think that's just made my mind up.
  10. I've been playing guitar for 13 odd years, and would consider myself fairly knowlegable when it comes to guitar amps. I only started playing bass about 6 months ago, initially to help out in a friends band when their bass player left with gigs booked! After playing half a dozen or so gigs, the position has become permanent and I need some decent amplification. I am the first to admit I know nothing about bass amps. I live in Carlisle and we are lucky enough to have Overwater based here. They have looked after and set up my guitars from day one. I tried an iamp 500 there and really liked it and the guys also advised me to have a look at the Mark Bass stuff, which I have and liked. Mark Bass is cheaper and easier to find second hand but I was concerned that if I tweak the volume on stage, will it affect the front of house because of the lack of DI control? Anyways, just after some friendly advice as to what you knowlegable people know about either amp and which you think is the best for the money. Cheers..... Mario.
  11. Hi, I'm new to this game and looking for some advice. I'm after a new amp head and it's come down to a choice of 2, but not sure which to go for. Will it be the LMII or the iamp 500? Just a bit worried that the iamp might be a bit sterile sounding, and my worry with the LMII is the lack of level control on the DI. I understand the Mark Bass to be a nice warm sounding amp, which is what I'm looking for, but not sure about the iamp 500, although it does have some great features. All advice is very welcome....... Cheers!
  12. I have just read this whole thread and now feel so relieved. I have just been outbid on this same amp I believe, on Ebay this evening, by £10! The auction ended tonight. I was absolutely gutted that I'd missed it, but now I can't tell you how pleased I am that I checked out this thread. Any how, I hope you get your money back ok. Good luck!
