1. Bump for a fantastic bass and a great seller. Very versatile bass. The video is a bridge-y solo tone, but I've heard Harry get a THICK dub tone out of this bass as well.
2. Bump for price drop, now £700+shipping
3. Thanks. This bass is now listed on Ebay. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=150402353037
4. Hi, This is now listed on Ebay at blowout price!!! The auction is starting at £450 with no reserve, if you want to make me an offer good enough for me to end this auction prematurely I'll do it. I'm partially funding a Sadowsky by selling off this bass, and I really think I might regret it. They're getting pretty rare now, it was my number one bass for quite some time and for the money it's really superb. It has a good low action and it's one of the easiest playing basses I've ever owned. The pickups/electronics are really good and put out a big tone; it's the best recording bass I've had. It's a BBNE2 without some of the expensive options. Cosmetically it's in good condition. There is some buckle rash/scratching on the back of the bass, especially on the plastic control cavity. The finish has also gone a bit shiny under the popping area around the neck pickup; this bass has been played. There is a SMALL nick on the back of the neck, between the first and second frets. It's not noticeable when I play as my thumb normally rests a little bit up from it even in first position, but even if there is contact I really don't think it's a big deal. I'll ship it in a semi-hard SKB case that you can keep. The shoulder straps are knackered and it's not really worth anything but it'll keep the bass safe. I'll put the case in a cardboard box. Alternatively if you're in or around SW London you can come and collect it from Kingston. £750 takes it, £15 shipping. Paypal, cheque or bank transfer are accepted. My mobile is 07840504461 or you can email me at [email protected]. EDITED for better pictures! If you want any more info or specific pictures, just let me know.
5. A basschatter who came by to check this bass out quite correctly pointed out that there is a ding on the back of the neck, around the 9th fret, that I hadn't noticed in my time with the bass. My apologies for missing it! It is parallel to the frets and about three quarters of an inch long. It does not interfere with playing. My attempts to capture this imperfection on camera have proved futile.
6. This bass is gorgeous. Is it the one they had in the Bass Gallery a few years ago? It was definitely a red Moon JJ. I asked after it, but it had already been sold.
7. Well spotted. I paid £320 for it, so I'm asking that. Silverfoxnik is right, they are great basses for the money, and pack a lot into the pre-amp. It's a shame I have to let it go!
8. I got this bass from a fellow basschatter about 6 months ago. I realise now that it's a little bit superfluous in my collection, so it's up on the block. It is in very good condition indeed, there are a few scratches to the control cavity and around the usual 'popping' spot. There is also a small ding on the back of the neck, around the 9th fret running parallel to the frets (so, vertical if you have the bass in a playing position). It does not interfere with playing. My apologies for the cameraphone pics, let me know if you want to see anything else. I am in the SW15 Wandsworth area of London, i would prefer for the bass to be collected from there, but I am willing to ship at the buyers expense. It will be shipped in a gig bag in a well packed box. The gig bag is pretty worn out, but will protect it for the journey. £320 + delivery. I'm 99% sure I want to sell this for the cash, but if you've got anything to trade run it past me. I'm pretty picky though. Cash is king! Please feel free to ask questions via PM or [email protected]. P.S. I also have a Spector Rebop 5 DLX Zebrano for sale here: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=47460
9. THIS BASS HAS BEEN SOLD! Great condition Spector Rebop 5 with the Zebrano top. I got this used from the states about a year ago with a view to de-fretting it. I never got round to it, and it's spent most of this year in a case! I've taken it to a couple of practices and I'm pretty sure I gigged it once. It's pretty much mint, apart from a ding caused by the jack of a lead below the bridge which I've detailed in the photos (my apologies for the cameraphone pictures). Let me know it you want anymore angles, etc. I also sent the bridge away to Spector to file the hole for the B string, as it would not accept any of the .130 B strings that I wanted to use. They widened the hole so it should now be able to accept any B string, small or large (the universally sized ring at the end of the string is the thing that catches on the bridge). I will let this go for £480. It is in the Wandsworth SW15 area of London, and I would prefer collection from there. However I am willing to post at the buyers expense. As I never had the original case, the bass will be shipped in a gig bag in a well-packed box. The gig-bag is fairly worn-out but will protect the bass in transit. Feel free to ask me any questions, either via PM or at [email protected]. I'm 99% looking for a cash sale, but if you have any tasty trades run them by me. All I can say is no. I'll leave this up here for a bit then chuck it on Ebay. P.S. I also have a G&L Tribute L-2500 for sale here: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=47462
10. I've got one! It's basically fantastic. It feels great, consistent tone and volume, strings all have the right amount of tension (even the B string)... it's basically a really really good Precision but with 5 strings. I plumped for the Olympic White with Rosewood and Tort (never getting lost on stage again!) and it looks great. I ordered through Hartnoll Guitars in Plymouth who have the best prices on them and gave it a free setup. I don't know what it played like out of the box but it plays brilliantly now. I'd highly recommend Hartnoll Guitars for great service, prices and an above average courier. I'm planning on sticking a Jazz pickup in the bridge position (suggestions?) and calling it a day. It has exceeded my expectations in almost every department. My advice to potential buyers would be to order NOW, as Fender may have really clamped down on QC at the start of this run, but as the basses stop getting reviewed they may get a little bit lax again. Just my theory based on Fender's past record on QC. I might post a full review at some point, if I find the time and inclination. I'll at least try to get some pics up, as this thing is stunning. The bottom line of any review is that if you're interested you should BUY ONE. I bought without playing and wasn't disappointed.
I'm sorry, but it just looks wrong...Precisions should be four string. It's how it is. How it should be.
I have to disagree. In terms of visuals, it won't matter to you when you're playing the thing, only when you're looking at it! When other people are looking at it, 90% of the public aren't going to care if your bass has 4 or 5 strings. I think the added functionality more than justifies the break from tradition.
11. I'm buying and selling a bit on this thing these days so any feedback is gratefully received!
12. Just sold a bass to Martin, it was an easy and painless transaction. Good buyer!
13. Bump for price drop, £95 posted!
14. I bought this a few weeks ago from a fellow Basschatter, a bit of an impulse buy really. Well current my financial situation cannot justify impulse buying, so this has to go. It could be new, no scratches or dings that I can see anywhere on it. It works fine, and comes with the box, power adaptor, instructions, dvds.... all the box candy basically! I'd like to get what I paid for it, £95 posted. Paypal is acceptable, as is a personal cheque. If you're in the Kingston-upon-Thames area you can come and collect if you want. Feel free to ask any questions!
15. Easter BUMP! I've sold the Jazz, roll up for your Precision needs.
16.
A lot of talk on mark bass at the minute, whats the difference between the little mark II and the sa 450, apart from size, is it just slightly more versitile EQ?
Hi Harry! That's essentially it with the comparison. The SA450 is a little bit heavier, comes with adjustable hi and lo mid frequencies, and you can turn the eq on and off for the line out. The SA450 is also a tiny little bit more expensive. It is all about markbass these days though. BTW, seen the bag that came with mine? It velcros to the top of the cabinet. Markbass are geniuses. But if you can afford some Eden stuff they might be worth a look, word is they're rugged as hell.
17. Come on guys, stop thinking about it, just do it! You won't regret it. The jazz is up on ebay right now but I'll yank it for a basschatter.
