  1. What a loss to the SW in particular and UK music retail in general.
  2. Some extra pic's showing the outstanding condition of this cab and cover. Taken with flash as natural light was almost non-existant today. In reality the cab isn't quite so sparkly high gloss and you don't notice the very slight witness marks from rubber amp feet on the top.
  3. Been there, done that, got the T-shirt! Superb basses these 🙂 GLWTS
  4. Such a nice thing! If I hadn't just bought BCH's s-s 'Ray I would have been seriously tempted!
  5. These had a 30.5" scale, so add 'short scale' to your topic heading and you'll get a whole different audience. I only play short-scale basses so that's what I search on the Basses For Sale topic. Only spotted this one as it happened to be top of the topic list before I put my search in. Technically, yours is the EB-2D with the extra mini-humbie at the bridge. Like others have said, this was my dream bass back in the day and I'd have yours in a flash if I had £3k to spare. GLWTS
  6. The Dunlop 5-string s-s flats set is listed at £114.99 on Strings Direct! I have no relevant experience but if I had a s-s 5er, I'd be tempted to buy a cheap 4-string set and try to source a single, heavy-gauge, high-tension E to use as the B. The cheapest 4-string set of s-s flats that I know of is the Hofner 040-095 Contemporary series at £26.99, also from Strings Direct.
  7. The cab is unmarked and looks just as good from every angle. Happy to confirm with more pic's to anyone interested.
  8. £400 was a steal! At that price, you can afford to ask Andy to re-body it for you 😉 The Rascal neck is the best I've ever played.
  9. Btw that's the original white pearl scratchplate that's included as a spare/alternative with the black bass (re-shaped by Andy to fit the modified body of course 🙂)
  10. Aesthetically it's a bit Marmite-y but I didn't actually mind that. Just couldn't get on with the poor ergonomics, all down to fact that the bridge was so far from the bottom strap button. This added bulk/weight and shifted the fretboard further away from the player thereby negating two of the key s-s benefits. It also placed the bridge right underneath the fingers of the plucking hand. The pic shows the original body below the bass Andy made using all the other Rascal parts. I asked him to re-body it a-la Precision Lyte and I think it works really well. - as does the re-shaped original body Andy used for the black bass. IMHO these are the Rascals that Fender SHOULD have made rather than taking the quirky 'form over function' route.
  11. Original Fender doc attached. I'll see if Andy remembers what the fault was but in the meantime let's make it into a 'Techie Quiz' and see if anybody can spot it 🙂 Fender Classic Player Rascal Bass 0140110308 Service Manual.pdf
  12. It is. The Fender Rascal was a great bass spoilt by a stupidly-shaped body. Fortunately they were kind enough to publish a Fender Rascal Bass Service Sheet that included a wiring diagram - with one mistake that Andy spotted.
  13. Just a heads-up on a very interesting - and highly desirable IMHO - s-s bass I've just posted FS. https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/473862-andy-rogers-short-scale-custom-build/#comment-4890445
  14. Well spotted! They're in the usual places, see below. I already had some Schaller strap-lock pins and the pic's were taken before I fitted them into the holes Andy had pre-drilled.
  15. Our Andyjr1515 built this to the same spec as my main gig bass (also built by Andy) as a backup. I've never had to use it in anger though as my other AR bass has been 100% reliable so I've decided to turn it into GAS vouchers 🙂. Compact, lightweight and a one-off in design terms, this bass is in top condition. Strap balance is perfect and the fast, slim neck makes it a sweet player. Functionally it's hugely versatile thanks to the 3 'lippy' pickups plus 7-way switching* that allows all pickups to be selected individually or in any combination. Each position gives you a distinctly different, totally useable voice, and I use all 7 on gig bas number 1 to suit various numbers in our covers band. Price includes a mint Gator shell case and a white-pearloid scratch-plate alternative to the ebony one fitted if you want to bling things up a bit. Strings are virtually unused La Bella flats. I'm happy to meet for mutually convenient handover within an hour's drive from Taunton or pack for shipment provided buyer arranges and pays for delivery. * Via 5-way slider switch and push/pull volume knob
  16. Darn, my favourite colour too. Will need to sell something first, by which time it'll be long gone.
  17. Heard the first reports but this is still sinking in. Been a fan since Truth trumped the Yardbirds stuff. Here's a nice wee thing from another fan of his. Recorded before his death but in retrospect a nice tribute. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nV9bnaqqfq8
  18. Ooooooh dear.... Sold my first and only Sandy (s-s Lionel) a while back and starting to suffer serious pangs of regret ☹️
  19. If it "rumbles nicely" without any nasty noises and stays in tune, that should be good enough 🙂
  20. Andy just bought my Eden head. Can't fault any aspect of the slick transaction and thoroughly recommend him to everyone on here.
  21. Awww, go-on-go-on-go-on, you know you want it - with that little puppy on one shoulder and the One10 on the other you'll be perfectly balanced 😊
  22. That would make a nice little rig with my Eden WTX-264 also FS on here - 260W of smooth yet punchy Eden goodness into 4ohms 🙂
  23. Bought new by me for home use and offered in pristine unmarked condition. These amps are little gems that are robustly built, have a quality feel and produce that lovely Eden signature tone with everything set flat. The Bass and Mid knobs are push-pull giving bass boost (+/-15db) and frequency shift (550hz or 2.2khz). Dim's are 27(D) x 20(W) x 7(H)cms, weight is 1.6kg. Price is 'buyer collects' but happy to meet at mutually convenient spot or pack for delivery if buyer arranges and pays for courier.
