You can do that and pay the extra £12.87 on the door - but are you coming?

ON HOLD - Gillett Contour electro-acoustic NOW £1450!! - *SOLD*
scrumpymike replied to scrumpymike's topic in Basses For Sale
There are many who believe this is the best Electro-Acoustic bass ever built. When these were in full-scale production, players were selling what were previously regarded as the top E-A brands to buy Gillett Contours - I know because I spoke to many of them while I was helping Michael G out with his sales, marketing and promotions. Bass 'Stradivarius' of the future? For just £1750?! I've got 2 and I certainly won't be selling both of them!! -
All PP payments messaged as sent today have been received with thanks.

👍 and replied.

Ooops! Done now, and Mrs. Scrumpy says you get an extra portion of crumble (mine probably) 😐
-
Right, so I've PM'd my PayPal details to all confirmed up-front Bashers. If you don't do PP, just PM me back and I'll send my bank details for a transfer payment.
-
We're obviously going to get the attendance we need to go ahead so I'll PM payment details to those of you who have confirmed you're happy to pay up front. Thanks everybody!!
-
Just for clarity and transparency: 1) We need at least 25 x £13 to break even, which is why we ask anyone who's willing to pay up front. 2) You don't have to pay in advance or even confirm - you can just turn up and pay on the door. 3) However, from the planning and organising point of view, it's helpful to us to also know all those who are not paying up front but definitely intend to come. 4) On the few occasions when it's happened, we've always refunded anyone who's already paid but been unable to make it for whatever reason. In practice, the raffle always makes a significant contribution to financing the event - but we obviously can't count on it. Any remaining cash balance is used for booking the hall (which I get at a reduced rate cos I'm a Trustee 🙂).

Thanks Kate, you're already on the list of confirmed attendees.
-
Hi Stevie, when I get 25 confirmations I'll PM payment details to everyone who's confirmed. I've added you to the list.
-
I need more confirmations from Bashers prepared to pay up front. Less than 25 = no Bash and we only have 14 so far. Would the usual volunteers (and anybody else) please step forward?!
-
We'll coordinate an evening out for anybody who's doing an over-nighter in Taunton - just let me know on here so we know the numbers.
-
Agreed, new hip definitely takes precedence - albeit only just 😉. Best wishes for the op.

Make sure you fasten its seat belt!

There's absolutely no better place for browsing and chatting... not to mention eating. Looking forward to our chat!

Darn! You've rumbled our little scheme for making more money this time 😉
-
Maybe the chocolate biscuits...
-
OK, so that's 2 confirmations in as many minutes. Should be done and dusted within the next half-hour 🙂

Unbelievably (for me and Mrs. Scrumpy at least) this year's Sunday 8th October Bash is just over a month away, so it's time to get focussed. We're keeping the price at £13 and, as last year, we need at least 25 advance attendance fees to guarantee we can cover the event financially. If you're coming, please confirm/re-confirm without delay. As soon as I know we've got a few more than 25, I'll ask you all for payment in advance . Any monies over and above 25 x £13 will go towards next year's event - most importantly, the 2024 hall booking fee, which we have to pay in advance. So you know what you'll be getting for your money, here's this year's menu. Let us know if you have any particular dietary requirements that aren't covered and we'll do our best to cater for you. OVER TO YOU!! Mrs Scrumpys menu Oct 23.docx

The Short Scale Bass Appreciation Society!
scrumpymike replied to Baloney Balderdash's topic in Bass Guitars
What's the neck width at the nut? The spec says 43mm but not sure I believe that. -

That's exactly right! And it's 10ins to the pickup split line on the old Encore s-s P I use for noodling around on at home. -

I like that middle pickup setting too but the only one of the 7 settings I don't use in our classic rock covers set is bridge only. The switching versatility is what I love most about the Fender Rascal. This is how my re-bodied Rascal looks now. -

I already have the Fender Rascal (albeit now re-bodied a-la P Lyte) so your comparison pic helps me relate to the Saffire. Can you explain the tonal differences between the three basses?
