  1. Paging @Andyjr1515 and @Jabba_the_gut...
  2. I used the Fishman Platinum Pro, which was great, until recently, replacing it with a Grace Design Alix.
  3. I drove up for the last bash in Nottingham so I'd be up for this too.
  4. The last bash in Nottingham was a great day, really enjoyed it.
  5. Yes, and very fine they have been too. I've not seen any news on a 2024 Midlands Bash..?
  6. I think this is probably the nearest Bass Bash to you, there are more in various parts of the country.
  7. Can I just broaden that sample out to two. I have played three Wals over the years and all three were as @Burns-bass described... ...I lusted after a Wal until I played one, then I realised it was simply because I was so into Mick Karn and, as we all know, the instrument is not the talent.
  8. I don't think the Wailers/Bob Marley would be be a fraction as famous without the superb rhythm section of Aston and Carlton Barrett, both extraordinary and innovative players. There is no doubt he was one of the greatest bass players of all time. If you want to know how to serve a song with a bass line Family Man was the man, what a loss.
  9. RIP Family Man, what a player...
  10. Ask a mod like @Woodinblack to remove it, oh look, I just have.
  11. The hyperlinks vanish when you cut and paste so one has to redo them. Really they aren't necessary but it does make it more obvious who is attending.
  12. Anyone attending the NW Bass Bash 2024 please cut and paste the entire list and add yourself to it... @Frank Blank - Jabba short scales, fretted and fretless, Ibanez SRC6, QSC K12.2, Grace Design preamp, cake. @rwillett - Ibanez short scale, Fender Jazz bass, Fender Mustang bass, Telecaster, Westone six string, 3d printed guitar, small practise bass amp, small practise guitar amp, Mod Dwarf, various guitar/USB interfaces and quite a lot of software and a fair few laptops as required. I live next door Probably cake as well. @ossyrocks - '73 P bass, '73 J bass, '78 P bass, '87 MIJ P Bass, Fender Bassman 50 (rebuilt from the ground up by Gartone), Bergantino Forte D, TE Elf, Barefaced Super Compact and One10, Fender Rumble 100. @sifi2112 Vigier Excess 4, Mas26 (x2) sfx D3 preamp Koch ATR4502 poweramp
  13. The list is usually compiled within the Bash thread. So one adds one's tag and the gear they are bringing, like this... @Frank Blank - Jabba short scales, fretted and fretless, Ibanez SRC6, QSC K12.2, Grace Design preamp. ...and then other attendees copy and paste the above and add their own tag and gear. Pedants like me keep an eye on the list as some people don't tag or mess the list up and occasionally tidy it up and repost. Here is an example of an attendee/gear list from the last SE Bash. Also if we tag the lovely @Silvia Bluejay she will pin the thread for us.
  14. As with other Bass Bash threads shall we start an attendee/gear list?
  15. Definitely in. It's also a five hour drive for me.
  16. It must be a particular skill of mine, they tore me a new one within an hour!
  17. True. Which is why you put in the occasional appearance... 😉 Yes, Basschat is a real exception to most forums that collapse into nasty abuse at the drop of a hat. I lasted a day on TalkBass before I was hounded off for asking a beginners question. I was worried initially that BC might be the same but it really is exactly the opposite. December 11th 2014 was my first post and I'm still here, daily, thoroughly enjoying it.
