I would. I’ve never played a Wal. I could pretend to be Mick Karn for a while (if Mick Karn had forgotten how to play)
Yes, *squeeee* me first, me first *shaves off eyebrows*

I don't see any irony in any of your comments, just rudeness at an offer to bring along some basses that might be of interest to some people.
Fair enough, no interest, I won't bother bringing anything then if these are the sort of comments it attracts.Irony - sarcasm - rudeness - the inability to covey nuance in written text.
All these things aside, we’d really like you to bring your Wal basses.

I recognised the Stingray and the upright, hadn't come across the Chapman stick before. Good to know about, thank you.

@Bassassin what did you scrape the horrid brown gloop off with? I’m liking the look of that for my SR500 and SRC6.

Welcome indeed sir ,if it hadn't been for learning guitar I'd never of gone onto bass ,but love playing flamenco guitar still , ukelele do both after all variety is the spice of life
You are in excellent company Sir, JJ Burnel was a classical guitarist before taking up the bass.

I'm with @Teebs as wide as possible and personally I've never purchased a patterned strap.

Round here we’d probably say you’d come from the dark side
Yes, but he/she's crossed the house so to speak so good on him/her. Bass playing is a bit like Hotel California, You can check out any time you like but you can never leave...

Based solely on the response to Damon Albarn on here I've sought out the The Good, The Bad & The Queen album and am thoroughly enjoying it, some lovely reggae influenced bass lines running through it. I remember my Dad *spits* turning TOTP or the radio off when Bowie, Roxy Music or Sparks (there were more, it was quite an extensive list) came on, it was a clue to the music actually being interesting.

Great gig on Saturday night at Dartford Social club. Unfortunately Dartford tunnel was closed which meant the whole area was pretty much gridlocked - something us in the frozen north don't normally have to contend with. This meant the run from the Travelodge to the venue was an hour instead of 10 minutes. We were going to leave the gear at the venue overnight, but due to the traffic problems we decided to pack up and store in the van overnight. This was very nearly a grave error as overnight a group of scrotes decided to have a go at a number of vans in the carpark - ours included. Fortunately the deadlocks saved us but is was close.
Welcome to Essex.

I get tired of showing my solid bodied P Bass and J Bass so here is my other Fender a Fender Kingman ABG. This gets very little playtime and I really don't know why I bought it in the first place but I did. It is not the loudest acoustic on the market if you want to play it live without amplification, but it has a cracking J Bass neck and a good Fishman preamp. Made in China which I was sceptical about at first, but after reading on line reviews which were in praise of it I took the plunge. The build quality and sound are both great and it is currently strung with La Bella White Nylon Tapewounds.
I have a Kingman, it’s really loud and allows you to ‘dig in’ like no other acoustic bass, if only they made a short scale version...

I loved Waterfall by Wendy and Lisa. I really coveted Wendy Melvoin's white Gibson ES335. Great song too.
I’m a big Wendy & Lisa fan, particularly of Wendy Melvoin’s guitar playing, much underrated imho.

Terry Reid was outstanding.

Of course - I have organists in my blood - two aunts, two uncles and my dad. One uncle was a proper enthusiast!
Is it bonkers?

Managed to get the bottom of the bridge piece as flat as a Witches threepenny bit and despite a possible slight improvement, there is still a difference in volume - now, where's that Stanley Knife? 😃😃👍👍
Then when you’ve fvcked it completely take it to a luthier, as I have each time I’ve attempted any kind of bass diy... 😁 seriously though, good luck!

Me and Mrs B collect vinyl.
A friend of ours bought that album for me as a p1ss take - I decided to wall mount it for a laugh - we get no end of questions when people come round
It’s a cracker, have you listened to it?
