Buy it and charge it to @Frank Blank. He'll never miss the dosh. 😁 I'll say nothing to Neeps if I can have a shot on your new, vintage, rare, pristine bass.

I play a lot of chords on bass in my little band. I use a QSC K12.2 FRFR set up.
Bass > Effectrode PC-2A > Grace Design Alix > QSC K12.2

We do have 10m sheep and fabulous views of the dals though.
That's big sheep. Chana and tarka dals I assume? Any others..?

That sounds perfect, hopefully they do take out coffee at the cafe?

I was at Nomis Studios in Olympia working for a band doing pre-tour rehearsals, finding myself caught short and a little refreshed I wobbled off to find the bog. Finding an unoccupied urinal between two urinals occupied by Andy Taylor and John Taylor of Duran Duran I immediately set my mind to thinking of something witty to say, by the time I did they'd both gone so I wobbled back to our room and drank more saké.

I have a works event that Saturday, which is most annoying. I would MUCH rather be eating cake and talking bases.
I wonder if/how I can get out of the works thing.... 🤔
Throw a sickie, it's a British tradition, almost a right.

Just checked and the village hall is booked for this for the day. We have the whole hall. Whether we have enough people to fill it, thats adifferent story
Splendid. It'll be cool if there's four of us!

Excellent! Was just about to check this was still going ahead, is it definite enough that I can book a hotel?

Hopefully we can all agree that regardless of inner dialogue/monologue, Kylie Minogue is rather marvellous.

Are we talking about something like an audio version of aphantasia?
Thoroughly enjoyed that film, particularly Mickey Mouse chopping up the broomsticks.

Strings make a big difference, I've LaBella tapes on the Lionel and there's so much variety in tone available...
Absolutely this, my JMJ had LaBella 760F-MUS stainless steel flats, perfect strings for this bass. -
The short scale I felt comfortable with instantly was the Nordstrand Acinonyx. Out of all the basses of any scale I've ever played it was, by a country mile, the easiest to play and most comfortable bass I've ever owned. If you get the opportunity to try one then do, incredible instruments.

1. How long does it take to adjust to going from long-scale to short-scale?
It depends on the bass and on you, you have to try a few out before you'll find one that kind of 'suits' you. Once I found my 'brand' so to speak I adjusted very quickly, well, instantly really.
27 minutes ago, thebrig said:2. How do you manage the inevitable neck-dive that you usually get with most short-scale basses, would changing the tuners to lightweight tuners make any noticeable difference?
Neck dive isn't inevitable, only one of the eight or so short scales I've played had neck dive, mind you, they have all had lightweight tuners. If you are moving from a P bass then I completely agree with @Lozz196, Mustangs are the way to go. I also had a JMJ and it was glorious, I never noticed any neck dive but, again like Lozz, I have straps that provide good support.- 3
