1.
I think Perry's suggesting that we're not, at least in guitar shops. Though last time I was in the Bass Centre the experience didn't exactly put me in a friendly mood.
ah, yes... good point... friendly but not very good at reading or paying attention
2. Edit - Sorted now with great bunch of guys in band called 'Pilgrims' or 'Qeff' in Reading. Really looking forward to gigging and recording. Went for audition last week and had a blast playing original stuff for a change. Looking for a band to play in, rehearse, gig etc. mainly for fun Prefer original material but open to offers about modern covers band. Music wise I'm into all kinds of stuff from rock (Biffy Clyro, QOTSA, Foos etc.) to indie (Kings of Leon, We Are Scientists, Muse, Beta Band etc.) even some more dancey stuff (Groove Armada, Bassment Jaxx, Zero 7) and various other stuff as well In true lonely hearts column style-y I'm 36 (not exactly boy-band material but not a dinosaur either ), can rehearse / gig about once or twice a week and really want to do this for fun!!! If we end up with a multi-million dollar recording contract then that's a bonus! Live in Godalming, but willing to travel a bit for the right band Just ping me a p.m. if interested Cheers Stu
3. Couldn't agree more Perry, bass players are the nicest, least egotistical musicians by a long way
4. I'm not going to buy one solely because of the poor grammar / spelling in the ebay ad ("their back"... I ask you!! )
5. Tunecore seem to be promoting themselves a lot. Seems too good to be true (zero commission?) Could be worth checking out although I have not used them personally.
6. thanks for the kind words much love for this bass but no offers at all
7. I think the poll may need explaining for thickies like me ;-) btw i love playing for no money (charity do's, school fetes etc.) as it lowers expectations to a suitable level

10. saw them in Hull just before they took off Main memory of the bass player was that he was the spitting image of Stephen Hendry (snooker player)
11.
I already have a Waterstone Indra, which I love. I am mostly interested in the Duesenberg semi-hollow because I like the colour. Also I did watch Tom Petty last night and I am fairly sure that the guitarist was playing a duesenberg.
It was definitely a Duesenberg that TP's guitarist was playing. Not too keen on the go faster stripe version but they do a gorgeous bass with a club bass (hofner) shaped body. Short scale IIRC
