3. My very talented friend Owen has been coming on strength to strength with his solo stuff 'Polar Caps' He has asked me to put the feelers out for anyone interested in either being a dep or being a reliable bassist for him full time. Here is a music video I did with him. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lbr6TbVMQzY Website: www.polarcapsmusic.com Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/polarcaps For anymore info Owen wants you to email him here - [email protected] Cheers, Andy
4. Thank you Mike! toying with the idea of adding vocals on a couple of tracks! I used to have a good voice but trying to find again ha ha Hope you are well bro, Andy
5. I use Vari Audio which is part of Cubase now. A simple double click on a section of recorded audio audio track will bring up a matrix edit showing you what notes you have recorded, you can move them into pitch and change the individual pitch, pitch accuracy and timing . A feature I particularly like is the ability to export the audio data as midi data - great for midi triggering a bass line you have written and recorded.
6. Working on a new EP that is a completely different musical direction for me. More videos: http://www.youtube.c...NDYSAXTONDOTCOM Cheers, Andy
7.
Anthony Jackson is THE MAN! His faces weren't nearly as funny as that lovely lady from the OP though
Anthony is a beast, he can pull any face he likes!
8.
It's a bit unusual; usually when people do silly bass face, it's because they are totally caught up in the song, in a world of their own. This lady is constantly looking at her fretting hand, seemingly having to concentrate on what finger goes where. Is it legal to do silly bass face when you're not totally in the moment?
I've not heard this lady enough to know if she is worthy of said 'bass faces' or in fact if the poor lass might have tourette's syndrome. BUT this guy can bass face all he wants - see at 5:39 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tZOCdrwGch4
9. Saw this and thought you guys and gals would appreciate it.
10. Uploaded a new song called 'One Base' please excuse the stupid Gonna whack it on a Free EP with another song written between EP's entitled 'Magic Pockets' Working on some new different more melodic stuff with strings, piano, brass, orchestral percussion. Got about 7 songs on the go with that. Cheers bass brothers, Andy www.andysaxton.com
11. Cheers guys, got some new stuff on the way that's more easy listening. Getting away from my metal/rock roots for a bit, my hair and beard have gotten long and are scaring away the ladies.
12. What make is that electro acoustic classical? does it play well?
13. Please checkout my new video, been working on a slap technique that looks and sounds like double thumbing (wooten) but is in fact very fast hammer-ons. Also like my previous EP I made all the recording with my bass and no electric guitars. (obviously drums are sampled) This track is the 2nd song on my new 5 track EP 'Loom' More deets here www.andysaxton.com
14. 'The Reunion' is a side project band I formed with a Thai based 'new age' acoustic player known as 'Aplin'. Our new 5 track EP entitled "You And Your Storm" is out now worldwide on iTunes and Spotify. This stuff is a lot more relaxing and chilled than my usual releases Intro and live performance 5 Track Preview iTunes link (Posting this as it turns out there are loads of other bands on itunes called 'The Reunion') https://itunes.apple...-ep/id593145552 Hope you guys can appreciate it! Peace, Andy
15. Cheers Urb, as we both know working on solo projects can be very tedious, I have reached out to a few talented drummers I know but in this genre they are more concerned about jamming with guitarists. This is my last EP in this genre for a while. I'm currently working on some new stuff that is totally different and is inspiring me in a different way. Thanks again buddy!
16. 3rd solo album - entitled 'LOOM'. Continuing to use ONLY a bass guitar in these progressive metal influenced compositions. I ran my bass through a lot of guitar amps/fx to get a lot of the background distortion tones. (this is my last Metal/Progressive Rock release for a while, my next material is gonna be lot more easy listening and not so genre specific) 1. Cloak & Dagger 2. Spirit Molecule 3. Loom 4. The Chaos Engine 5. Obsession Possession You can buy this EP from my website www.andysaxton.com 5 track Preview:
17. Better off putting it on ebay, people may be cautious because you are abroad and you are a 'newbie' with no posts. If you have an ebay account with decent feedback then link it to this site
18.
I also think you should promote this in the General Discussion forum. I think this competition is a really valuable part of basschat, or could be, but the Recording forum is vastly underused, maybe you could drive more traffic to it with this. There were only 40 votes last month, it was twenty before I posted in GD on the last day to give it a push. It's a shame.
+1 I wanna get involved
19. Beautiful! if anyone knows anyone selling an old 5 string Fortress please drop me a message!! Great necks indeed!

21.
Wonderful stuff Andy! Superbly executed.
Cheers Bud! new stuff coming soon! (when I get a break from the crappy day job)
