A rather big decision this one! Purchased in June 2023 in a private sale. I am not sure how long previous owner had the bass but there is a receipt from the owner before which shows they purchased it in 2000. That is as far as my ownership knowledge goes for the bass. It is all original apart from a refret which I had done earlier this year at the Vintage Instrument Workshop underneath No. Tom on Denmark Street. I believe the weight is somewhere around 3.8-3.9kg - I don't currently have a set of reliable scales, in any case it's a really nice lightweight bass. As you would hope and expect from a 60's P bass, it sounds great! I personally think the wear is exactly how you would want it, enough to show it's lived a life but nothing too detrimental to the overall look of the bass. I am selling because the playability is not as I would like it. The neck has a slight warp which has the effect of some of the higher frets buzzing excessively. Also, the truss rod screw is quite worn from over tightening. I have tried to be as helpful as possible in demonstrating this in the video attached - bear in mind it currently as a pretty fresh set of roundwound strings on - not sure what they are exactly, just an old set I had lying around - would put some Rotosounds on probably but had none lying around! It still functions excellently as a workhorse/groove/session bass as a jazz player primarily I am really looking to prioritise playability and I have found that I increasingly choose to play my Custom Shop jazz bass because the playability is so good. Thanks to 'Mr Fingers' for info on the case: "The case is legit Fender vintage, but not from 1969. It's a "no tail" logo with an R, and no "Made in USA" underneath the "Fe". That means 1972-1975. Also corresponds with the corner insert for the body." The photos of the bass where it has been taken apart were done by the person from who I brought the bass, who is a luthier. VIDEO LINK:

Purchased brand new in 2019 from Laurence Dixon Bass Place. These basses are crafted in a master workshop in Hungary and completed in Laurence's workshop by Andras Lovaszi. More info here: https://www.laurencedixonbassplace.com/the-lovaszi-bass This particular bass is fitted with the more premium endpin as can be found on the more expensive Stella model. A brand new Luna model currently costs £8000. The fingerboard is in excellent condition and has a lovely flame to the finish. The neck is really smooth, no chips or dents. It its currently strung with Spirocore Weichs. The Evah Pirazzi strings pictured have been fitted to my new bass. I am selling as I wanted to change to a smaller bass with smaller shoulders - I have struggled with posture for quite a while and I have found that a smaller bass helps me with that. Case included in sale. Located in Penge - South East London.

For sale is my Vincent Akkurat PJ5. I have owned it since February last year. I had been using it a lot last year as I was busier with more R'n'B/Hip hop gigs but my work now calls for a different type of sound. It is a really stunning bass, one of the nicest I've ever played, incredible build quality and a beautiful neck. The colour is Petticoat Pink, with an Olive wood fretboard. I have found it works wonderfully for R'n'B, Hip Hop and soul music. I think it is a really amazing option for people playing that type of thing but who don't want to go foe the super hyped active bass sound. Of course it can play any style really, that's just what I found it most useful for. A couple of minor dings are pictured. Comes with a great case, I prefer it to my Mono one. And cleaning tools for the neck which is very satisfying to do once in a while - the neck does feel incredible particularly after a clean. You can hear this bass on the following recordings:- Take it Higher - Ashley Henry Synchronicity - Ashley Henry Who we Are - Ashley Henry Collection from London SE20 or UK delivery.

Purchased from Wunjo Bass in January 2022. It has a monstrous tone, would be amazing for really any music where you want to put the bass up front, amazing slap tone, serious rock tone especially with a pick. Currently string with a pretty fresh set of Rotosound Swing 66. Just had a fret redress at Bass Gallery, Camden. Andy Baxter previously had it, and he outlines the specs in detail here: -https://www.andybaxterbass.com/products/1974-fender-jazz-bass-sunburst-1?_pos=4&_sid=30b848437&_ss=r Please note the case I have for the bass is different to the one on the Andy Baxter add, and it is a non original replica. A couple of video clips below...

Purchased in August 2021 from GuitarGuitar in Camden. Great workhorse, had the same set of D'addario Chromes on for at least a year now - really nice feel and tension to the bass, plays great. I am selling as I have since got a 1969 P bass and I cannot quite justify keeping this as a touring bass although I would like to! As you can see and hear on the vide, the bass is currently set up for the Pino dirt of vibe, high-ish action with flats, but you would have no problem changing to a lower action and with rounds if you wanted a brighter, rockier sound. Only very minor cosmetic damage - light surface scratches above the pick guard where I would sometime keep a pick, and also on the back. Also, one very small dent in the neck. All pictured. Any questions don't hesitate to ask. Located in London SE20. Can post within UK at buyers expense. IMG_2152.HEIC IMG_2175.HEIC

For sale is my Markbass Combo 12" 2007 Italian made. It is a fantastic amp that I have owned for about 3 and a half years. It doe shave a slight fault - often within about the first 10-15 mins of having the amp turned on there is a crackling sound coming from the speaker. I have done tests with the DI and have found that the DI signal is unaffected. I sent the amp if to Real Electronics in Sheffield who to my knowledge are the only Markbass affiliated repair company in the UK. As can be seen by the photograph of the invoice I received from them, they replaced all the preamp pots. The problem still persists but practically speaking it is not too much of a bother - it is still a fantastic amp, super powerful and articulate. I am selling because it is a little too heavy for me to carry around London so I am going for a modular head/cab setup. Comes with Markbass soft case worth £50 Collection from SE16 London or UK postage at buyers expense.

For sale is this wonderful Jazz bass - I have owned it since January this year. I brought it from Wunjo on Denmark Street, London. They purchased it from Andy Baxter up in Leeds. Here is the link to expired add on Andy's website which details all of the specs and condition of the bass in great detail:- https://www.andybaxterbass.com/products/1974-fender-jazz-bass-sunburst-1?_pos=4&_sid=30b848437&_ss=r I am selling simply because I have not ended up playing it that much - I am mainly playing double bass these days and as for electric I am usually more drawn to my P bass. It was somewhat of a spontaneous purchase; I was really taken with the immense tone of the bass, as it says in Andy's add it has tonnes of growl, obviously sounds amazing slapped, great rock, funk, soul tone, and incredible with a pick especially with bridge pickup rolled off and a bit of overdrive. Currnety string with that I think are D'addario Nickel Wound 45's. The case is a G&G 'Original Vintage Case Company', so I guess not the original case that would have come with the bass, it is at least not the same case as on Andy's website. Both chrome covers and thumb rest included - do have a look at the link above for all details. Check out the videos below - 1st one in the shop when I brought it, 2nd one with a pick and some overdrive. OPEN TO OFFERS

Fantastic Markbass combo amp, one of the early Italian models made in 2007, before manufacturing was moved abroad. Just serviced with new pre amp pots, so works like new, receipt pictured. Minor wear and tear to rubber corners, carpet covering in very good condition. Comes with Markbass cover which costs £50. Selling as I want to downsize from this even though it’s quite small already, but too large for me to carry with a double bass, I don't have a car! I brought it second hand and have used the amp on a variety’s of gigs and it has always nailed the job. Postage within UK at buyers expense or collection from London N1.

Fender Custom Shop 1957 Precision Price Drop £2400 - *SOLD*

For sale is my rather lovely Squier P in sonic blue:- - Fender 3 ply white pickguard - Original bridge “ashtray” cover, thumb rest / tug bar (classic of the 60’s era), - Rosewood fretboard, - Maple neck - Fender hi-mass bridge for increased sustain. I have only had this bass for a month and it has only had one previous owner. Reason for sale is that I've got a real hankering to get an early 70's P or probably more likely an American Professional II, I've been playing bass nearly 18 years now, recently turned 30, it's just time to get the bass I actually really want!! That being said these early Classic Vibe P's are wonderful, I actually performed my entire 3rd year Jazz recital on one years ago. Early models such as this one feature a rosewood neck as opposed to the cheaper alternatives on newer models, not to mention the hi mass bridge which is a really nice touch. Such a lovely finish, easily holds it's own against for more expensive models both in sound and looks - and rather sought after these days due their quality and the fact they are now discontinued. Currently string with a pretty old set of D'addario chromes for instant Jamerson/Pino vibe. A few minor dings as can be seen in photos. Collection in person within a reasonable distance of N1 London. Here’s something I recorded a week or so ago.

Purchased in March this year, not the bass for me though mainly playing double bass these days and my other work calls more a P bass, so on the hunt for one of those It is a wonderfully easy bass to play, the neck in particular feels super nice. Probably the most comfortable bass I've ever played, the contour of the body feels really sleek. It has a really nice set up as it so fresh from the shop! It is strung with a set of DR Pure Blues strings. Condition is as new. Here's a link to the Xotic website - http://xoticbasses.com These models were only available for a limited and are discontinued now, so do not expect to see therm come up very often! Such a high quality bass particularly at this price point. Comes with a very stylish case. Pickup or meet up in London preferred but can arrange postage within UK. Would be interested in trades for Fender P's (preferably early 70's).
