  1. He means that you should make offers by personal message, ie privately, not by posting on the thread
  2. You were already senile, though possibly not yet mad, when you joined
  3. I was actually born in clacton on sea. I’ve never lived there in Essex though aside from a two-year sentence in Chelmsford (education, not prison, though there were some similarities)
  4. Thought you’d have owned at least five. I had one but didn’t like the wide board
  5. They’re nice people i said to the keys player last night “ when I come here and see you guys play, I know just how far I still have to go” thinking maybe “in the midnight hour” as my debut.
  6. He doesn’t have kids or a house with a diy mountain. I might get 20 hours in over a period of two years
  7. Going to suggest “in the midnight hour” as a) a homage to duck Dunn b) we have a lady saxophonist so the horn parts are do-able c) I absolutely love that tune and it’s the first one I figured out by ear so it’s a huge proud moment for someone as talentless as I am I spoke to the ridiculously talented keyboard player who happens to be the brother of the ridiculously talented bass player about a full-on blues jam next time if anyone has any killer blues jam endings please let me know (the climbing up the neck to the dusty end eighth note pluck-fest type of thing)
  8. It helps though I just use grenades @SpondonBassed I live next to a school so the use of military hardware is fully justified seriously though @Suezee what bass are you playing most right now and what genre do you most enjoy ?
  9. There was someone who built a garden studio @WHUFC BASS ?
  10. Welcome quite a few female members on here btw you don’t have to be a grumpy old man on this site
  11. The bass player has a single cut six string fretless and he’s ridiculously talented. He told me once he practices 20 hours of every week.
  12. I feel slightly better, and it’s not just the schadenfreude
  13. Not just me… the house band at my local jam night are so far ahead of me that they are in another galaxy, play anything, any key, swap instruments etc they just did “ Africa” and it wrecked. It was like I was up there update… they just did it again.
  14. Welcome - care to say any more ?
  15. I had this when I’d wrapped the string badly around the tuner. Make sure the string ends up at the bottom of the wraps around the tuner, not the top. any particular string or at any particular fret ?
  16. Have you changed string brand or gauge recently?
  17. Nailed it @Dad3353
  18. Try a different cable a different amp a different house Same cable, different house etc
  19. What kind of bass? More things to consider with an active etc ….
  20. Don’t have to be female, just thought the female members might have an insight
  21. Lady who runs our local OM would like a bass, she wants to play The Chain. She’s a good pianist, talented singer and passable acoustic guitard she has fairly small hands and didn’t realise that shorter scale basses were available. Can anyone, particularly female members, suggest a non bank breaking choice ? I thought of mustangs and 32” fender style basses
  22. He could clench, though the card might get a little soggy over time
  23. Rules on page 1, recently updated
  24. Or a new** rat skin loincloth ** freshly clubbed to death
  25. Would not bother Stig - he cannot read
