Fingers really should be just behind the frets…. Tsk tsk 😛
-
Bass lute, I presume ?

Shoe polish works i like it, good job

Totally disagree, sorry how does a solo acoustic player fit in with a jam night, where by definition more than one person would be playing at once. I do agree that a given night could feature both setups, if the house band take a break, for an example but that’s an edge case

What a charlatan ! He forced me to buy a five string and so break my duck in the abstinence thread, made me accept next day delivery, sent packaging photos that were frankly indecent in the sheer quantity of bubble wrap on display AND I had to put up with polite PMs as well! 😱 Shocking experience … ** some verbs above may have been altered from strict reality for dramatic effect

This is basschat “helpful” and “informative” are standard fitments. Alongside “carmudgeonly” and “cantankerous” but hey, nobody is perfect
-
Crazy idea, why not get the v7 5 string ? you know the tones and you won’t need to change anything about your setup
-
Actually I’m pleased to say that I have lovely children of whom I’m very proud. they will make me considerably proud (if possible) by becoming bass players. I live in hope

I agree with @neepheid if I can bow out after years of success as “bang to rights” so can you. The ring of the cash register or the resounding thump of a “funds requested” email from PayPal in your guilty-as-trump inbox is the grim reaper of your hopes of staying off the naughty list, mister nb: I would have tried “I’ve always wanted a five string”, “I’ve never owned a sire”, “it’s my first red bass” and “I did also sell one beforehand for more £ so it’s really net-zero gain and thus technical abstinence” if I thought the jury would go for any of those. I thought it unlikely somehow

I’m out, I have paid @lee650

I’m assuming someone said “we need the gear page… it will be ours one way or the other. Militarily is an option….”
-
You were doing so well until this point … last night I was asked to fill in on an open mic night, which would be great except they wanted me to play the toy bass. 🤮

Agreed

That stopped you ? Whilst you were “channelling the force” ** 😳 a euphemism for “pissed” and “purchase-focused” in one amalgamated emotional state
-
I think I’m likely to be out after many years of success. I wouldn’t be buying if a) I hadn’t needed something to make a difficult inheritance “mine” and b) hadn’t needed to sell a loved bass whilst waiting for the money to arrive and c) a good price Stop laughing @AndyTravis 😁

I’ve never thought of playing there, maybe I should in a way it’s like the 70s pick-up position thing on a jazz, that is supposed to sound burpier

I’m glad you’re enjoying it. 🧐Has anyone from the audience commented on your sound? Why not get a long cable or wireless and hear it from out front ?

I am, as my friend from Dundee would say, seeing my jacket on a shaky nail right now. I’ve sold a much loved bass, and a much desired cab to Pay some bills as discussed with @neepheid and I’m down to one bass and no cab. Tempted by a sire 5 string and a squier 40th p 😇🤞and I know that puts me in failure territory for the first year ever both are postable or collectable within distance of my winterfell hovel
