Don't blame you at all there !
2.
4k !!! my aunt was buried a month ago burial was 4k,plot dug up to be laid with husband 1k ,to be brought through Bromley to southwark 3k,flowers 1k. I don't think my sh*tty Ibanez will get me much
That is an awful lot for flowers Pre CBS?
3. I tried one in PMT Leeds and I SO nearly bought it. Then I picked up a classic 50s pup on eBay and used it in my bitsa. People were always complimenting it
4. I wing it all the time when I play - I'd love to be note perfect but I just dont have the time. I see improv and making it up on the spot as skills
5.
I allways enjoyed Lawrence Cantys stuff (journalistic that is..) in "making music" a free, but suprisingly good magazine from music shops in late 80's ,mostly ads but come good copy!! I think he wrote a kind of, buyers guide to bass type of book too(?) (have I remembered that right?) any way......
Yes, on floppy paper like NME I recall it well
6.
I think this was mine at some point!?
And you let it go ? My little one loved the prosebass 5 you sold me
7. I'd like a sunburst p body with a maple jazz neck, Steve Harris pickup and fender "no load" tone control ... but I've already got a p bass
8. A stomping disco number, definitely
9. It was a pleasure doing business with buff
10. Pleasure dealing with you, buff
11.
price depends on year of manufacture. Get the serial number, look it up. Make an offer based on that. Any MIM after 2006 should be really good imho.
He says above that it's a 2003
12.
I dont think I paid much more than £350 new for mine in 2001. I think the Quality control on these were very dependent on who was working that day! I played quite a few and a few others over the years and they all seem so different. Mine looks like this if you want to check the body. . http://www.guitarpartsresource.com/images/large/099-8008-732.jpg no idea on why the big routing hole from the control panel to pickup or that silly little hole near the lower horn ?
Those are jig points for routing out the body
13. lovely - I'm enjoying the gallery of happy people
14. You're supposed to clean strings ?
15. Ok just saying as I picked up a Warwick that my other half said was a biohazard and fit only for the tip. It cleaned up nicely and just needed a jack socket. A bit of cleaning and crackly pots is par for the course and a bit of damage is unremarkable with age
16. Why don't you post those ?
17. Look for gaps at the neck joint with the body Look also for the brown skunk stripe popping out of the back of the neck
18.
People seems to be asking a bit more for the more recent Mexican Fenders but I personally, for a used standard mex, wouldn't want to pay much more than £350. Less if it was a bit battered or in need of some work.
It's really quite an old one so I'd be thinking 265-275
19. STill a bit over priced in my opinion - unless it's a shop with bills, staff, vat etc
20. Made in Mexico in 2003 There are shifts in quality based on date, some premium, and not premium but still really good models are made in Mexico I had a 97 and it was woeful but most 2000 on has been better made
21. Not all squiers are created equal Neither are mex jazzes- suggest you post the serial number ?
22.
I luuurve the look of an unlined board...that minimalist look...been trying to find somebody who makes black frets (for my fretted basses) to no avail.
You could always "paint it black" I'll get me coat
