Leave the world of bass? There is no world without bass.
3.

This seems the most popular colour. Plenty of dealers seem to have the Black or Sunburst one but not Candy Apple Red. It looks good, especially with the matching headstock.
4. There seems to be a lot of Sunburst & Black Bass VI around. Candy Apple Red seems to be a bit elusive!
5. I see that these are due from Fender in 2013. Anyone seen or heard anything about these?
6. Some of my favourites.... Paul Motian / Scott La Faro (Bill Evans) Michael Shrieve / David Brown (Santana) John Marshall / Hugh Hopper Danny Gottlieb / Mark Egan (Pat Metheny) Jack DeJohnette / Michael Henderson (Miles Davis Billy Higgins / Charlie Haden (Ornette Coleman) Ronald Shannon Jackson / Melvin Gibbs (Decoding Society)
7. Most relic'd basses........ ............although i have seen a very nice seafoam green Jazz Bass

9.
Replace it. That's my suggestion. Keep the original somewhere but I doubt it can be invisibly repaired to be honest.
I took the pickguard off when in bought the bass 20+ years ago and it hasn't been on since. It's just such a neat break that when you put the two pieces together you can hardly see the join (as Eric Morcambe would say) and looks as though it could be repaired but maybe it's best left alone
10. There is a bit about the prices asked for Shergold Guitars and Basses on www.shergold.co.uk
11. I've broken the (white) pickguard on my 1974 Fender Jazz Bass just above the neck pickup. It's one clean break. I don't know whether to just have a go at repairing it myself or take it to someone who (hopefully) knows what they are doing. Any suggestions much appreciated.
