    I've had mixed experiences with PMT in Northampton over the years, it all depends on who you deal with on the day. They have had some genuinely helpful and knowledgeable staff work there since it opened a few years ago. Ben, who used to look after the drum section was a great bloke, as was ginger Jay who used to handle the bass shop - he was prone to talking out of his exhaust from time to time, but he was friendly enough and would always offer a sizeable discount - and seemed genuinely keen to help you out. The current line up of staff, however, are a disinterested and less than helpful bunch. Arrogant bald bloke spends much of his time being bald as well as arrogant. Emo boy seems to serve no other purpose than to stand about, constantly furrowing his brow a little, while simultaneously practising his pensive, moody expressions. The 2 of these wonderful people combined have the collective charisma of a radiator. The rest of the staff are instantly forgettable and seem to be as unhelpful as they are lacking in any real knowledge about what they're supposed to be selling.

It might cut it, it might not - I really don't know!! [/font][/color] [color=#282828][font=helvetica, arial, sans-serif]My guess is that if you want a bright, toppy sound that you'll probably be OK as your current amp can handle it, but if you want a gut rumbling low end at high volume, this probably isn't the beast to satisfy that. [/font][/color] [color=#282828][font=helvetica, arial, sans-serif]It does however have a speaker out socket so you can link it to a bigger cab - that will help with projection and volume, but you need to be aware that in order to link to another cab, you won't be able to use the in-built speaker as it only has one [/font][/color][color=#282828][font=helvetica, arial, sans-serif]speaker out socket. Not a great design but that's how it is unfortunately.[/font][/color][color=#ff0000][font=helvetica, arial, sans-serif] Ignore that, the combo does NOT have a speaker out socket - I thought it did, must have got confused with a different amp![/font][/color] [font=helvetica, arial, sans-serif][color=#282828]Hope that this information helps - I just want to be sure that if you did end up buying the combo that you know what to expect and that it will do what you want it to - I'd hate for you to buy it and then be disappointed and/or blame me for selling you something that may not be what you need. The pedal comes with its original box and connection cable, plus a shorter connection cable that I used in the house as the original one is very long.     Lee (Rasta) bought a 1983 Squire JV serial numbered P bass from me. As the other comments above have all said, he's a great guy to deal with. He was very swift to respond to communications and was even swifter when it came to paying for the bass. And not only that, he gave me a belated Christmas present - how cool is that???     Hi folks, I’m selling this 1983 Japanese made Squier Precision that I recently acquired from my brother in law who had owned it for more than 20 years. It has a JV serial number which according to here [url="http://www.fender.com/en-GB/support/articles/japanese-instruments-product-dating"]http://www.fender.co...-product-dating[/url] was manufactured sometime between 1982 and 1984. This site suggests it was made between March & May 83; [url="http://www.21frets.com/squier_jv/serialnumbersanddates.htm"]http://www.21frets.c...ersanddates.htm[/url] The bass itself has numerous marks, dents, scratches etc on it – my brother in law is an old punk so keeping the bass in pristine condition was never at the top of his priority list! However, all blemishes are purely cosmetic and the bass itself is in good working order. Hey, some people pay hundreds of pounds to get an instrument to look like this – this one has been ‘naturally weathered’! It’s a 2 tone sunburst finish with a tort scratch plate. For some reason an extra hole has been drilled in to the scratch plate between the volume and tone knobs. It carries a maple neck with skunk stripe and a maple finger board. The neck itself is true and plays well. The machine heads are reversed geared, meaning that turning them clockwise tightens the string and vice versa. The pick up has the raised pole pieces that cover the A string. As far as I’m aware, all parts are original and nothing has been replaced at any point. I’m hoping for a straight sale - Is £500 a reasonable price for this roadworn beauty? . I could also possibly be interested in a trade against a small lightweight cab preferably a neo 1 x 12 of some sort. Cheers, Sid.

    Many thanks for the recomendations guys I've downloaded the 2 freebies as a starting point; Audacity looks like it could be exactly what I'm after as it not only allows the pitch to be changed but it also allows you to save the the the transposed MP3 in the new key (once I'd installed the extra plug-ins, but that only took about 5 minutes of head scratching to figure out!) which is really useful. Also, the pitch shifting software it uses (SoundTouch) is very good - it doesn't sound as heavily processed as the one on my Tascam CD bass trainer or the real time pitch shifting used by BestPractice. Having said that though, BestPractice does more or less everything that my Tascam does, to the same usable quality AND is a freebie - that in itself makes it an awesome download for figuring out what's going on on a particular recording.     Hi Folks, I've just joined a new covers band and am currently learning their set. Most of the stuff they play is transposed from the original key on the recordings that I'm working from. Does anyone know of any good quality, relatively cheap (or even better, free!) software that can change the key or pitch of the track (with or without slowing it down)? I don't use the PC for making music so I'm totally ignorant of what's out there - I did a google search but just ended up more confused that when I began I have got one of the old Tascam CD bass trainers which is fine for learning most things but I find the pitch shifter sounds quite heavily processed. As such I wondered if there is anything that can change the key/pitch but still be relatively natural sounding? Unfortunately my technique isn't always good enough to transpose things on the fly - I like to have things nailed before blasting away with a band!! Any help much appreciated, Sid.
