I knew it looked familiar! Maybe it belongs to Roger E. Mosley!
Brilliant, I couldn't place it but knew I'd seen it before. Good spot, Funk! That makes it a cool bass.
Ok so I'm a sensitive "little" flower with no sense of humour, very happy with that.
Don't know about this bit though.
Whenever people bang on about the "PC brigade" etc I am always reminded of this Stewart Lee rant: http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Stewart_Lee#O...cal_correctness
Just to make it easier .. It really worries me that 84% of this audience agrees with that statement, because the kind of people that say "political correctness gone mad" are usually using that phrase as a kind of cover action to attack minorities or people that they disagree with. I'm of an age that I can see what a difference political correctness has made. When I was four years old, my grandfather drove me around Birmingham, where the Tories had just fought an election campaign saying, "if you want a n****** for a neighbour, vote Labour," and he drove me around saying, "this is where all the niggers and the coons and the jungle bunnies live." And I remember being at school in the early 80s and my teacher, when he read the register, instead of saying the name of the one asian boy in the class, he would say, "is the black spot in," right? And all these things have gradually been eroded by political correctness, which seems to me to be about an institutionalised politeness at its worst. And if there is some fallout from this, which means that someone in an office might get in trouble one day for saying something that someone was a bit unsure about because they couldn't decide whether it was sexist or homophobic or racist, it's a small price to pay for the massive benefits and improvements in the quality of life for millions of people that political correctness has made. It's a complete lie that allows the right, which basically controls media now, and international politics, to make people on the left who are concerned about the way people are represented look like killjoys. And I'm sick, I'm really sick-- 84% of you in this room that have agreed with this phrase, you're like those people who turn around and go, "you know who the most oppressed minorities in Britain are? White, middle-class men." You're a bunch of idiots.
Ok so I'm a sensitive "little" flower with no sense of humour, very happy with that. I think I was more annoyed about the site being dismissed as only good for the classified section, when I've seen people pour their hearts out about divorce, fighting cancer, bereavement, etc. and seeing the amount of support given by this community, for free, in peoples own time. Maybe they're all over sensitive too?? Although I do wonder who the "sensitive" ones really are when I see some reactions when people's behaviour is challenged. I'm new to forums and I guess it shows. Sorry to have caused you or anyone else a problem with my views mate. Take care.
Very, very nicely said, OS. Salute!
Bloody Nora, this thread needs another bass! How about alanbass1's '62 Precission? Yes please.
I'd like to see that with its bra off, fnaar fnaar, but at least it's wearing no pants.
Christ on a bike! I didn't know John Merrick had two uglier sisters.
He had a fair number of them going by that thread. Ted Nugent once said that whenever he played the UK, the front row looked like the opening of the pig season. Well, Ted, whaddya fink of your US home-chicks?
Not a problem mate it's the internet things can be easily misconstrued. And as i was brought up in a cathoilc convent " i forgive you my child "
Thanks mate. Now get yer tits out for the lads!
Sounds like a personal attack pal. I expected more from you .
Oops, we were posting at the same time so you wouldn't have seen my last post. I was just being humorous mate, nothing personal. P'raps I should have but a wink smiley on there so you could interpret my sense of humour more easily. BTW, more of what did you expect from me?
or she'll leave you like the last one did.
I've had it pointed out that I might have been offensive here, and I would like it known that I was simply being humorous.
WTF - the point that I was trying to make is that most musicians tend not to be - not that you have to turn into Bernard Manning to be in a band! Strangely enough this does not seem to be an issue with the female singer in one of my bands and any risque humour is just as likely to come from her as anyone other band member..... The fema
None of us is "sensitive little flowers or easily offended" mate. Some of the chat that goes on in some of my bands would probably make you wince or puke. The point is if you want to talk about sex, you can do it without sounding like On The f***ing Buses. Circulating titillating pictures of women with decent cleavage on a bass forum without a sense of irony is about as 14 years old in the 1970s as I can think of. It's also interesting to note that those who say their MILF, FILF, BILF, etc. threads display a great sense of humour appear to lose that sense of humour at the first sign of criticism. To be perfectly honest, you and BlameLouis come across like you grew up in a Catholic Convent. Stop just talking about it and bloody do it, and do it well, or she'll leave you like the last one did.
As the starter of the original MILF and FILF threads i'd like to say they were done as a bit of fun. They were copied from another site that i use regarding James Joyce where they were popular as a bit of harmless craic.
I can't believe you had to copy them

We had an artist support us called Betty Steeles. She had a fantastic upright player who was having so much fun. Can't find out anything about him though, he's not mentioned on her website or myspace.
I would rather look at a girls m*nge than a bass. Sorry.
Off you go then, Lady Sonia is waiting for you and your credit card (providing you are old enough to apply for one)
Nothing wrong with your sense of humour mate (or Sarah’s or Rich’s), it’s just that there are too many here who are just too PC for words. How they ever manage to hack it in a band, I have no idea! I think that you have to accept Basschat for what it is – a great place to find & sell gear or to get info and technical advice (if you can distinguish between those who know what they’re talking about and those who really don’t), but not necessarily a great place for debate or what you’ve come to recognise as the knockabout humour that you tend to associate with most musicians……
Oh dear, here we go again.
That's pretty harsh don't you think. With regards to this thread specifically,I don't think there was anything wrong,or worthy of any hassle. It's not like there has been anything offensive in this thread.
Sorry, maybe it was. The thread's fine, but Pete was having a crack at the moderation, that's my thing, nothing more. The mods have done things before I don't agree with, but it's their club, and and there are plenty of party-goers which bear out their judgement. Pete, I hope you don't think I was being insulting I'll leave it at that.
Woa woa woaaaa! Pete, you where warned about something and continued to do it. Thats a warning, end of. Nig, Enough of the insults now please, Please see 6A on the basschat rules here - http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?act=boardrules Everyone else, Play nice!
Insults? Where? I really like Pete, I would never insult him. Bit confused, sorry.
