1. Good music, a bit like Editors, Interpol, et al I'm 46 but look younger than most of your band, am I allowed apply?
 2.
Already have, Nige, already have. Played a charity bash before Xmas, I was in two of the six bands. Sat on a high bar stool with my leg on a lower stool, and it seemed to work OK. You'd never be able to do it ... too much bopping!
Wickid! Good on you mate!
 3.
That's Ok then - I always associate you with the white one so would have been dissapointed if that was to go, lol
That's sweet mate I associate you with about thirty top end basses in all sorts of livery

 6.
NO you can't swap out your warwick!!!
7.
This bass is now on hold, sale pending...
So is mine, congratulations Nice to see the Vette $$s getting some love at last! Amazing basses, and incredible value second hand, what a bass!
 8.
I'm really happy with mine. It's a "one bass does all" kind of instrument. It's nicely made, sounds great and looks good. I haven't noticed it as particularly heavy and love the neck. The action is better than any other Jazz I've had and it can growl like a dog if needed. I'd happily recommend one.
Sounds ace! Sounds like my Warwick that I'm swapping it for actually
 9.
that looks AWESOME fella, wish i had the spends at the mo! Good luck with the sale
Thank you sir!

 11. Thanks very much gents Jack, you gigging with that leg of yours?
 12. Despite the sh*t reviews and gear ratings, I LOVE the Scott Thunes interview in the latest one. Much more interesting than the average bassist interview. Thanks so much for that, Mike!
 13.
I mean no disrespect but i for one have never heard of Bongo basses? I thought it was a thread about the fruit drink! Who makes them? ps: you need some better pics to show it off to its best, not phone taken ones.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Music_Man_Bongo I think they are very interesting, but ugly. That orange one looks like it's made by Le Creuset.
 14. This is a charity event organised by WOMA and is a tribute to my former bandleader, Doreen Thobekile, who sadly died of cancer in June last year. I'll be playing with TGU and we'll be performing some of Doreen's album with her daughter Ingrid (ex Soul II Soul) on vocals. From the Roundhouse site .. http://www.roundhouse.org.uk/whats-on/prod...m_campaign=woma [i]Members of Transglobal Underground, the worlds greatest world fusion band, with Doreen’s daughter Ingrid, take to the stage in a special one off concert paying tribute to a great friend and musician Doreen Thobekile. Poetic Pilgrimage are an exciting female hip hop and spoken word duo from the UK. They are a rare act, being one of the few Muslim female outfits around who are unafraid to express themselves through the art of rhyme. Ritu is a champion for WOMA and presenter of A World in London, the weekly BBC Radio London programme (BBC London 94.9), which showcases the best of global music. 15.
No worries. Good luck with the sale/trade. I hope you find what you're looking for Bump!
Thanks Chuck
 16.
Anything in my collection tickle your fancy for a trade?
Sorry to you too, mate. Nothing tickles I'm afraid.
 17.
Fancy a trace T-Bass?
Sorry fella, looks great but not what I'm after at the moment. Thanks very much for the offer.
 18. EDIT: A Fender has come up and I need a QUICK sale. Warwick Corvette $$ 2006 - Black High Polish finish & Black Hardware This has been my main bass for nearly three years. I can attest to its quality, playability, and unequivocally its reliability. But for some reason, I feel like a change. I have other basses I love, but I want a Fender Jazz Bass. I want Fender on one of my headstocks in black and gold. f*** knows why. Made in Germany. Everything working perfectly. Very little wear, no buckle rash. Almost no fret wear, very well looked after, strung with DR Neons, includes user kit (but the user kit cloth is missing). Weight - 9lbs 4oz (and beautifully balanced) Action at 24th 2.5mm Ovangkol Neck - smooth, lovely and tactile, and very fast. MoP side dots. Wenge Fingerboard - like a slab of dark chocolate, not the usual open grain wenge. Bell Brass Frets - 24 beautifully finished. Just-a-Nut III 38mm nut width, ie. Fender Jazz. The Fingerboard inlays are actually Creative Cuts vinyl adhesive ones. They look very, very convincing but they come off easily with no damage or residue if you wish to remove them. USA Swamp Ash Body Scale length: 34" (long scale) Passive MEC MM-Style humbuckers Active MEC 2-way electronics Two 3-way mini-switches for separate configuration of the humbuckers (series / parallel / single-coil) Pull-for-passive volume control This is a really lovely bass to play, very smooth, and recently had a quick set up by Bernie Goodfellow. My feedback is here http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=45741&hl £580. Cash on collection in Ealing, West London preferred The trades I am really interested in are: a white Fender Power Jazz Special MIJ in excellent condition which I would expect to be valued at around £400-£450ish given what I have seen others sell for. I would also be interested in a Geddy Lee MIJ Jazz, or other MIJ/MIA Jazzes, or a P Bass with Jazz neck, but not MIM. I prefer glossy necks, and adore block & bound. Cheers, Nigel In action at the Roundhouse a couple of weeks ago, and as near to a Bass Face as I have ever got
 19.
She has Nike adverts on her web site. Nike don't look after their employees very well. http://www.globalexchange.org/campaigns/sweatshops/nike/
Hardly Ellie's fault though is it? That's like saying you think ill of turkeys because of Bernard Matthews
 20.
But at least it is fixed with a quick flick. When you detune manually, then forget to retune, it is more of a problem... and, yes, I have done it.
Me too mate
 21.
mm, thats got me worried now, could my necks not be that stable? as if I tune back up from dropped to standard, the other three are really flat, like un-playable!
That really is very, very odd mate.
 22.
I use Std strings, and go between standard and dropped d, also tune to C and drop C with "normal" strings. One thing I have always thought of, is when I drop to D, I always have to re-tune the other 3 strings, I just assume that the change in tension by varying one string, causes the tension to change on the other three, so if I used a hipshot etc, I guess I would still need to re tune the other three, so in reality, are they that good? Never used one so I am just assuming.
That's weird. It has never been an issue on either of mine. A cent here and there won't make any tangible difference anyway. Yes, they really are that good!
 23. Rich's explanation is good. I use standard gauge 105 E strings on a 34inch scale and I have never had a problem with drop D tuning. Don't have a problem playing in drop D either, it's easy to get used to and you'll be swapping between the two tunings in no time. Possibly because you can play some really cool things in drop D and 5ths and octaves are really movable as you play them like 4ths in standard tuning. The one thing with a D Tuner is to remember to use it, I've so many times forgotten to switch it back up for the next song
