That picture's more muthaf***in like it! I'll get to work

Yes, they are superb. You want the GB7 for your Warwick and it will directly retrofit, same screw and hole. You need to put a tiny dab of vaseline on the contact, vaseline is perfectly fine for this.

I adore my Warwick Streamer. It's my ONE.

Lovely! Thanks fellas! I honestly think this 'competition' (I'd rather call it a 'challenge' tbh) is a marvellous thing.

That's right brothers and sisters, the THREE Cs. Basschat is an amazing community, full of amazing support for its members with everything from cancer to money saving advice such as why tonewoods don't mean sh*t Anyway right, Charic started a most worthy addition to Basschat this month, a monthly COMPOSITION COMPETITION. There are 12 pieces composed by BC members and they are up for votes RIGHT NOW! Voting finishes today, and only 21 votes have been cast in a WHOLE WEEK! I find this a bit sad, so come on, spend a few minutes listening to the tracks and vote! Let's make this worthwhile, after all, we are here for the MUSIC, right? Cheers http://basschat.co.uk/topic/187585-september-composition-competition-voting-time/
Or just get a guitar?
Because they will tell you 'I am not a guitarist, I'm a bassist' and proceed to demonstrate that very clearly in a youtube video.

Honestly, the three minutes I heard was completely unmusical. If i did what he did on a guitar I'd be seen as a beginner, do it on a ten string bass and I would be seen as a 'proper musician'. Why does almost everyone I've ever seen playing one of these start on the top string, do some lame scale patterns on the high strings, then some badly played elementary jazz chords (while closing their eyes and 'emoting') with some guitar style 'expression', then a bit of crap slapping, (edit: I almost forgot the dreadful harmonics!) and almost forget there are bass strings on it? These people seem to be very confused and don't have much to say on the instrument. I think they get one made and quickly realise they are pointless white elephants so resort to showing us on YT how unplayable they are. EDIT: I watched some more and I'm starting to think it's a piss take along the lines of .. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LQGrM5HS8vU

This is good, I may even start buying it again after I let my subscription lapse two years ago through boredom, and exasperation with all the typos and inaccuracies.

OMFG!! I Want That Bass!! -
Hey man, don't take names to yourself, I have two penises too You know what I did having to play guitar and bass in the same band? I got me a Steinberger doubleneck bass and guitar, and used my POD X3 LIVE for both, using separate patches and outputs/inputs and just switching between the two in the songs. I could carry both rigs on my back without even really feeling it. I don't have to do that any more, but I still have separate bass and guitar gigs. Be proud you're a multi-instrumentalist, it's a massive advantage, and I firmly believe makes one a much better musician. Good to have you here.

Such a shame I can't make it this year
I have no argument on the two note flute or seven string bass (what are the other three strings for) , D.A.D's bass player has his guitars built with only two strings, I certainly have no argument on the Human interface, the voice is often the greatest instrument, STOMP make a fine noise out of all manner of 'tools', but the ability is all important, anyone can tap a saucepan with a wooden spoon and even keep very good time doing it, my problem comes when someone records that pan tapper, digitises it, puts it into a synthesiser or computer programmed device and replays it saying they have 'created' music, the pan tapper created the music not the computer wizard. I make no attempt to scoff at your musical abilities, it is very likely they are far better than my basic skills but we must agree to disagree on the way in which those skills are put to use. Cheers Kevo
If you value mechanical ability over musical and compositional expression, then you are right, we will never agree.
Fair comment, wouldn't pay for us all to be the same, I guess I'm a bit old in the tooth now Luckily for me it was in the 1930's that Paul Tutmarc developed the first electric string Bass, his company weren't really that successful though, but then in in 1951 Leo Fender introduced the now legendary 'Precision Bass', it is therefore fair for me to claim this as an original concept to me (as it was invetented well before my time), I quite like the old string pig (double bass) and have been fortunate enough to have a go on one occasionally, that though is akin to my having a go on an old 'Indian' and comparing it to my modern VN1600 Classic Tourer. I suppose there will come a time when young aficianado's of this modern 'toy bass' will makle the same comparison, I just hope these things don't take away the ability of future generations to actually play an instrument in the same way that calculators and mobile phones have taken away the ability of youngsters to read, write and count.
This is where I have a serious problem. Ability on a device is simply a tool for expression, it is NOT music. Music should not be considered to be dependent on devices, the human is the instrument. Wonderful music has been made on a two note flute, and dreadful music has been made on a 7 string bass. It's about the HUMAN, not the device. Does this mean the two note flute is a toy? Of course it doesn't, it is simply a conduit for human expression.

It all depends on what you hear in your head. But it's all context. The bands I play in demand certain approaches and you have to taylor your sounds to requirements of the music. If you do that effectively you can dig almost any sound. Personally for that clip, I'd have added deep and cut high end. It sounded a bit thin to me, but that might be the recording.
Hahaha One reason I love playing my Peaveys... Not only do they work for me on so many levels, but I don't have to worry about getting a few battle scars .... I was playing it with my fist at last night's gig!
Exactly! They are nothing but tools. I got a chrome one so I could look at the reflection of a tool every time I strapped it on. Also, being a proper Warwick Streamer and therefore convex, I let everyone look into it so they can see themselves as Pete Townsend.
