1. Possible Solution?
2. **** SOLD ***** Thanks Mat - enjoy! See you over on statii.com sometime!
3. He's a nice guy - I'm sure he'll fit you in, as long as you don't want a custom build acoustic as well..... Repairs/setups are bread and butter to luthiers, after all....
4. You could try my next-door neighbour Mick Kennedy Whilst predominantly an acoustic guitar maker, he should be able to sort you out if he's not too busy!
5.
Anyone got an idea how much it would cost or if it is indeed possible to defret a graphite neck?
If you're still looking for a bargain Status fretless, then check out my S1 here Regds Jim
6. OK - to help finance my latest Empathy acquisition, it's time to let someone else enjoy a fretless. Spec as follows :- Status Series 1 Lined Fretless 4 For Sale Year : 1995 (Best Guess from Rob/Dawn) Serial : #2388 Body: Facing Figured Walnut, Laminate, Red, Back ??? Finish : Satin Neck: Maple, Through, with graphite rods, lined fretless, Headed Hardware : Black Strings: 4 Circuit : Series-1 Pots Pickups: 2 x Hyperactive Last Owner : James Durand (Durandassi) who can vouch for its quality and condition (same as when it left him - great!) Plays like an S2, sounds slightly more mellow with the wooden neck, but not necessarily a bad thing for a fretless tone. Not overly expensive, so great for the odd fretless moment during a set! No case with this one, but I have an old case with broken handle that will be fine if shipping is needed. Looking for just £450 plus shipping! Payment by cash on collection (Nr Norwich) or Bank Transfer please. Pictures that James took when I bought it as I'll never take any as good as these :- Dec 1994 original ad - RRP £1175 Was on offer for £799 new 14 years ago!! :-
7.
Hey Jim, it was you that bought Mike's Empathy, then? Nice score! I hear it's had a full factory refinish, too. Lucky man!
And I've now ended up with 3 Statii that have been previously owned by James Durand.... Lined Fretless S1 now for sale on www.statii.com - will be on here in a few days if no takers, then eBay a bit after that

9. Peavey Microbass - gives you all but the battery power option for under £70 Peavey Microbass Works great as both a practise amp, and to give my basses enough grunt to compete with our band when unplugged/acoustic... Or for another £50, the battery option as well :- Roland Microcube

15.
Nice... I'm guessing you may have one or two Level 42 albums in the house.
just a couple - it's a versatile rig, though, not all slap!
16. My old, early 80's 1110/GP7 Mk V combo, originally black vinyl, recovered by me in slightly newer old stock green carpet.... (Now sold)

20.
Nice set-up. Watched the YouTube clip - that bass is like a fruit machine doing the special feature gamble!
Fortunately there's 11 settings, including off and "feature hold" (all on) - so you can save the nudge/gamble effect for the encore!
21. I'm suprised no-one's mentioned www.reverbnation.com yet - not a full website builder, or a social networking page, but there's some nifty tools there, and plug-ins for Facebook, etc. as well.. No techie skills/not much time needed either... http://www.reverbnation.com/thelastmenstanding is our page
22. Here's mine - The S1 will get treated to Blue FretFX LED's soon - details as per sig :- And a video of James (my S2's previous owner) demoing the SIM's LED's and GB Controller! :- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yRjiJIVh5iE
23. Would probably appeal to those who leave the plastic on their car seats and sofas to "keep them nice"....
24.
Give a headless a go if you’ve never played one – they’re not to everyone’s tastes and it would be sh*t to drop £1k+ on a headless Status and not like it. I played a headless a few years ago and I just couldn’t get on with it. The way it felt was so weird and I found that subconsciously I always felt that I was lower down the fret board than I actually was because there was no headstock, so I always felt out of position (if that makes any sense…it does in my head anyway )
+1 - what he said.... prefer headed.....
