  1. I've been reading a little on cables, and apparently anything with power... a cable with one of those barrels on it, a hub, anything that has power, will enable power/charge mode and not data transfer mode. But I guess that's what happens when Zoom don't ship a unit with their own cable LOL
  2. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!!! That is a valid point! The cable has one of those barrels... so I'm thinking that is for power, not data (see attached) Bugger
  3. Hi all Anyone here have any idea why the MS-60B connects just fine to my PC, but the software can't see the unit - nor can I execute the firmware upgrade? (it doesn't need it, just interested why I can't execute) See the pics attached... At a loss here... Firmware update error ToneLib Error BTW - I found this page - https://g200kg.github.io/zoom-ms-utility/ - and I am able to edit!
  4. Many thanks again @Al Krow I will start with the software today - assuming the unit arrives today, as expected.... it's been a while since I used any software, but I believe the Zoom program is pretty easy to get around.
  5. I did consider the + version @Al Krow, but ultimately, it was down to the price... Not a cheapskate, just need to get my head wrapped around the unit hee hee No doubt I'll upgrade sooner rather than later. Top tip mate
  6. So, I've pulled the trigger on the Zoom MS-60B. Kinda excited for this to arrive and to get playing. As much as the B3 (which I have played a little with some years back) and other Zoom units look amazing, it is the dinky footprint of the 60 that got me. I'll be taking off my EBS chorus for this one... now to learn how to use it hahahaha
  7. Ah, thanks @tauzero. The 60 is a great option. I'm not at all familiar with them other than lots of people seem to really love them. Excellent
  8. @SamIAm, thank you so much for those. I've never really looked at the B1-4, I guess cos it looks "plastic and could break", but I will have to take a closer look. The B2-4 looks great. I feel daft for not even considering that one. Wow. Ta!!
  9. Hi all, This could end up being a long discussion or a heated debate, but what I would like, is advise/input/opinions/options for a good quality, not badly priced, simple MultiFX unit for use in a typical pub cover band. Barring several months usage of a BOSS GT-10B some years ago, I have only ever had multiple pedal boards, and in the last 4 years, I've stripped right down to having (besides my preamp) an octave (for a Stevie Wonder keyboard vibe) and chorus (cos I love chorus). But I've now joined a covers band and I have a need for a couple of synth/keyboard tones as well as a few different drives (subtle to brutal). I've been looking recently at the Line 6 POD Express Bass, mostly cos it's under £200 and also as it looks fairly "easy" to get a few decent effects setup for the half dozen songs I'd likely use effects on. But, this is where it gets interesting, I've been thinking that I'd most likely never really need IRs and all those kinds of things. I've managed fine until now, so I'm not sure if I have the right mind to figure those things out. Although from what I've read on these pages, the whole IR and amp/cab sim side of things is huge if you want to use IEMs.. So, I'm also looking at the old faithful Zoom B3, simple, easy to use and cheap. I don't want to spend a fortune, I would prefer something small (the HX Stomp fits that bill perfectly), and ultimately, something that is not going to be a lot of oomph with a little usage... Money spent on things not used seems daft to me. Sorry for the long message for a simple question, but I do like context LOL. My thanks in advance for what I know, will be terrific input. 10. Having just joined a covers band, I'm in a similar position, except I have no more pedals save an octave and chorus and my preamp. I need a few drives and possibly/probably a fuzz/sub (for synth sounds) and this looks like a good idea to me. Having said that, I've been eyeing out the new Line 6 POD Express Bass... I'm torn. I have a soft spot for BOSS pedals.

  12. If you do, we'll all be waiting for a full review @uk_lefty
  13. Fantastic video just released by Nate Navarro ...
  14. And it's here!!!
  15. Apparently BOSS were listeening!
  16. Many thanks @JottoSW1. I'll definitely get in touch with him
  17. Thank you so much @BlueMoon - email sent
  18. Hi all Do you know anyone - besides the Gallery - who makes perspex ramps? I'm after one for my Sadowsky. Thanks in advance. Julian aka Glassmoon
  19. Great pedal. Very underrated I think, and considering the price, you can't beat them.
  20. Oooh, thanks @krispn. I'd forgotten that he was something of a boffin where the Stomp is concerned!! Excellent top tip!
  21. Thanks @javi_bassist. For me, right now, it's all about smaller is better. I've had massive boards in the past, and I've realised that all I really want is 2 or 3 drives and octaves and maybe a chorus or 2... the rest, not so much. I've just joined a cover band that does a lot of the "modern pop/rock" stuff (or utter tosh, as I like to call it hahahaha) and I need a mild, medium and heavy drive. With octaves, I need one to double track and one to emulate (with some drive) a 70's keyboard bass. Long story short, the Stomp really appeals from a "it's the size of a sandwich" perspective - and if I ever want to use the bells and whistles, they are all there.
  22. An open discussion question: for "just" effects, is the HX Stomp worth it? I love the size - dinky little thing
  23. Hahahahaha ... she and I have very different ideas of the aesthetics of a bass, but I think in this regard, this bass "needs" that Brand Logo!!!
  24. Yeah, much happiness here when I saw it didn't have the TescoExpress decal LOL I know where to go to get the Sadowsky one (even though my wife says not to be daft)... I will leave the round RSD decal on I think - it's still pretty cool.
  25. The wait is over!!!!! Yes, it's the baby... no, it doesn't (yet) have the VTC preamp... buuuuuuuuut, after literally 5 minutes plugged in.... this is what I think... There seems to be none of the fret end issues that I've read so much (and dreaded) about. These are pretty much what I'd expect from a well set-up bass The eq, set flat, is amazing! Let's just say that A/B'ed against my Cort, which has Delano pickups, the Sadowsky beats, nay, slays is!!! It's lighter than both the Cort and my old model Ibanez BTB 6 (and that means tons to an old man like me) I will go out on a limb and say this much... I've played a Sadowsky only once before (in another life in South Africa back in 1999 or 2000) and it was a MIA top of the line 24 fret model, which blew my mind.... so I have almost nothing to base my impressions off... but what I just played is HUGELY better in feel and tone than the above mentioned Cort, a MM SUB, which also had Delanos (not painting a good picture for Delano, am I?), and probably sits nicely under previously owned MIJ, early 90's Yamaha TRBs (5&6) in terms of "wow, this is a great bass). I mean that... it's not just platitudes because it's "new bass day" for me, I really honestly mean that. To Roger (thank you for the emails BTW), Sadowsky and Warwick, I say thank you!! This one is a keeper! Julian Fairall aka Glassmoon
