D string seems "off" after neck adjustment?
glassmoon replied to glassmoon's topic in Repairs and Technical
Not sure... I did 2 1/2 turns, as Roger Sadowsky says on the "how-to" YT clip - the neck is straight, but not arrow straight... And I dropped the strings down a smidge - they were and are all still at the same height (i.e. no one string stands proud from the rest). I adjusted such a little that the tuning after was marginally out! I just don't know -
Hi all, I recently adjusted the neck on my Sadowsky MetroExpress - straightened it out a little - and dropped the string height to what I prefer. I play with a light touch so it's low, but not quite Rizla paper low. I don't have any excessive buzzing or any fretted out notes. Oddly though, the D string seems to be off whack... almost like it's not aligned to the pickups any longer, or has "died" on me... it's noticeably software too. Any ideas? Kind regards Julian aka Glassmoon

Yeah, I would love an HX Stomp - it's so small and packs a mighty punch, but the learning curve for me coupled with the price makes it an uncertain option. I really miss my 10B, for what I really got out of it... and I figure the 90B would be somewhere in the same ballpark...

I used the software that was recommended and it was pretty easy to navigate and do what I needed to do... after a lot of trial and error. The fretless, as you mentioned @Owen, was pretty convincing, and a huge win for doing ballady type stuff. I really enjoyed that could blend everything as if I was running through a parallel FX loop - so my bottom end never got weak. There were so many great pros... I just wasn't using it enough to warrant having it - boy, do I regret that decision now. I guess though... for the price you can find one (between £150 and £200 on eBay)... it's less than half the price of say an HX Stomp, but not too far away from the aforementioned 90B... so, do I just bite the bullet and get the New Blue Boss? @uk_lefty, what is the software like that you can use on the 90B? Conundrums aplenty.

Hi all, So, in 2024, with the glut of Line 6 gear out there - among maaaaaaany other brands on the MultiFX shelf... is anyone still using a BOSS GT-10B? I used to own one - loved it - and stupidly sold it (GAS is a crippling affliction that so many of us suffer from). I'm interested if anyone still uses one! Julian aka Glassmoon

Hi Rob Is the Mayones pre still available? Kind regards Julian aka Glassmoon

I use it as my pre-amp, tuner, compressor and DI - the DI alone is worth its weight in gold... I am, of course, open to selling it and getting a Radial or something of that level (I can't ever see myself looking at the "here, have my kidney too" range of DIs). The MB3 is a killer sounding unit... and one I'd be loathe - but not entirely opposed - to selling. i'm all ears @velvetkevorkian

Hi all, So I am closer and closer to getting myself an HX Stomp, I just have one question... I run into an EBS MicroBass 3... do I put the HX before the MB3 or through the MB3's effects loop - or after for that matter? I currently run a Zoom MS-60B through the loop and I'm happy with what I am getting from that setup, so my natural thought process would be to do the same with the HX... I know there is "no right or wrong way" to do most things... but... well... to the experts, the floor is yours My thanks in advance Julian aka Glassmoon

Hi all, Another pedal for the "not using, so it should rather go" pile... my beloved EBS OctaBass. Besides a few "well loved" cosmetic scuffs, it works perfectly, but every now and again I get a very soft pop when engaging/disengaging. EBS says either clean the switch with WD40 or replace it, which I was about to do... but that's why the price is what it is. Thanks for stopping by. Julian aka Glassmoon

Sadly, that was the same for me

Aaah, let me try that. I'm ussuming that it works in the "engaged" position, and I won't be able to line up an effect? Truth be told, this is going to be a simple, non-tap dancing affair, so this sounds like the perfect way to get there. Now to assign some sounds LOL HUGE thanks @MartinB

That is actually true... anyway, my next step is to figure how I can go from patch to patch without bending down
-
Nope - same crap - I'll try on my work machine edit: work machine failed too... I can only think that the cable is doge. It's not a train smash, not at all...
-
Yeah, that would've been 1st prize I guess... it really was just down to cost in the end
-
Let me try that - ta! Actually, I'll uninstall everything Zoom related just to be safe
-
No - it does see the unit (device manager) and it does connect to the GitHub site - just fine actually... it's the other one that everyone seems to recommend that can't/won't see it!!!
-
I looked at those - not sure how they will work though - but at that price, and they are non-intrusive, that is a win!!
