  1. My Own Way - Duran Duran
  2. I Am The One And Only - Chesney Hawkes
  3. Our first rehearsal of the year with the acoustic folk rock band went really well. A list of new songs for us to learn ahead of the St. Patrick's day gig in front of us, we managed to busk through at least half a dozen of the 'standards', as we have all played them individually in other bands at some point in the past. What made the evening even better was that the place we use to rehearse is a holiday cottage on a farm, which also has a tearoom on site. Any cake etc that is leftover from the day is put in the kitchen for us to help ourselves to, along with tea and coffee. (Ginger and coconut cake last night). Already looking forward to next Wednesday evening.......🤪
  4. You've got OUR guit@r1$t in your band as well then......😆😆😆
  5. 1985 - Boleyn For Soup
  6. Big Log - Robert Plant
  7. Ours is still on - roads slightly frosty here in Lincolnshire, but gritters already been out. First get together of the acoustic folk rock band to get ready for currently our first gig of the year in 15th March.....🤞
  8. Yep - got a double one about 10 years ago and it's been brilliant!
  9. My Status Energy 5 string headless bass. Bought new in the very early 90's (traded in a Washburn Status and Westone Thunder III to afford it). From MOR Music in York. Doesn't get much use at the moment, but is such a joy to play and perfectly balanced - immense sound from the twin J pickups too!
  10. Not going to get many burgers and sausages on that BBQ........
  11. I've got the Ged YYZ pedal on my board - it's made a big difference to my setup. Just minimal bass level tweaking on the amp now to suit the venue and we're sorted! 🤪
  12. First rehearsal of the new year last night with the punk covers band. New rehearsal space to try out - fairly small, but warm and has a working toilet! Got a private gig coming up in February, so need to focus!
  13. Kick Muck - Ozric Testicles
  14. Now I'm fairly handy around guitars and power tools, but that's making me twitch a bit! Got to make sure it doesn't interrupt the string path for restringing! How bad does the lift actually get if left unattended? 🤔
  15. The Yardbirds gig I saw him at with Wilko was on a 2 foot high stage, and he was literally within touching distance - mesmerising the whole night! 🤘
  16. To be honest, I'm not sure how long the issue has taken to manifest itself on mine. I've had it about 20 years from new, and only noticed the lift when reading about it on here! I have had a quick look at the cost of replacement non-original bridges - the cost and presumably quality vary a lot. There is always the option to go down the Geddy Lee route and replace with a Badass bridge with a shaped surround to maintain the overall look of the bridge......I have one of these on one of my jazz basses that's not currently seeing a lot of action 🤔🤔
  17. Managed to get to see NWR with Dylan Howe and Wilko Johnson at Yardbirds in Grimsby quite a few years ago now. He was absolutely on it the whole gig - tight as anything all of them.....🤘🤘Happy days......
  18. Saturday Nights Alright For Fighting - Elton John
  19. Taking this out for its first rehearsal tonight - it arrived just before new year......
  20. Yep! Just enough to get a Dunlop .73 underneath the back end.........😲
  21. Inspired to get mine out tonight (ooerr missus!). Have noticed some bridge lift as reported elsewhere here.......
  22. Back into rehearsal mode again.....
  23. Their album called The Wedge is a belter too.......those were my main two, as my younger brother was into them and had both of them back in the day.......
