  1. Our AV guy said “Our PTZ was £1200. I think you can get PTZs that cheap (he’s referring to the £300) but they are more glorified webcams I believe rather than straight hdmi or SDI video cameras. Mind you there are always bargains to be had on more expensive models”

  2. Paul purchased my Squier Vintage Modified P Bass and was great to deal with. Good comms, fast payment and convenient handover. Highly recommended.

Thanks Paul and enjoy the bass!!

How many years on BC and I didn’t even know this thread existed😂

Am looking forward to guesting at my old church tomorrow in the city centre, should be  pretty cool. Awesome group of musicians and a massive p/a system🥰

They have chosen Firm foundation as one of the songs, sounds like it has some pretty cool fills and slides to have some fun with!

Have any of you guys used that song?

Yes! Really like that song and it gives lots of flexibility on the bass to add some interesting fills! Chorus “1B” has a nice added Cm (if you’re in Bb!). Timing is everything with this one!

Discovered this worship band called NP/Nights and this song called Diamonds has a really nice bassline and message is spot ot! Decided to learn it and practise my picking technique which I've been learning recently. What are you currently listening to or learning atm? Blessed weekend everyone!

    You don't require
    My good intention
    Your eyes see deeper
    Than what I hide behind
    Not just my victory
    You take my loses
You breathe the broken things to life
    Once again

    Here is my heart
    All that I am
Take it and make it something beautiful
    Here in your hands
    Like only you can
Take it and make it something beautiful

Nice bassline as you say - I’ve always shied away from the pick personally cos it’s much harder to control and to mute strings whilst playing and I don’t enjoy the percussive tone as much as fingerstyle - but they all have a place I suppose!  Is the fret thingy at the headstock to help muting?

    Great playing!

Our efforts from this last Sunday. We had our top Worship leader on the desk to mix it this week and I feel he does a great job

Been watching some of your services over the last few days and you have some great stuff going on there. A big encouragement.

Thanks for sharing this - all came across really well and nicely put together. Great team effort!

  6. Long story short, “must have” rare bass comes up for sale, is purchased,  quota exceeded, this must go!

Squier Vintage Modified Precision 5 string. (No idea why they called them “modified”!). Top notch condition, Olympic white, 34” scale, weighs 4.2kg” 18/19mm string spacing. Made by Cort in Indonesia.

looking to recover the bargain £260 it cost. Will throw in Fender strap. Comes in “get it home” tatty unpadded gig bag or you can have it in a Thomann plush hard case (pictured) for an extra £40 (new price £79).

Collection from near Ongar in Essex or I can bring into London, or meet up around M25 north-east quarter (J26/27/28/29)

Further pics on request via PM

  7. So this came up, and having sold mine a few years back and regretted it, I took the plunge. The 5ers are very rare as I think they were about 50 units out of the total of 300 worldwide.

I’d forgotten what a good “P Bass” sound you get from the front pickup, and also how user-friendly the 3 band MEC EQ is with active/passive switching and coil tap on the “twin-jazz” bridge pickup. More importantly for me, the bass, mid, treble sweeps make it easy to get what you want. Oh and like all Dirty Blondes it’s pretty light at 8lb 2oz with no chambering!

Condition really good for a 17 year old bass, set up pretty good (only slight tweaks to the “just a nut” and 3d locking bridge needed. Frets and fretboard could do with a good clean but I’ve not done that before ?!?!

Looking forward to getting it on stage!

Downside is I’m going to have to let my recently acquired Squier P bass go! Look out for the ad soon!

  8. So I’ve been hankering after that classic P sound after listening to too much 70s/80s stuff. Wanted something not too expensive and this (discontinued around 2017 I think?) made in Indonesia fitted the bill at £260. Yeah I know 5 strings wasn’t a thing back in the 70s, but I’ve been a 5er man for decades!

As far as I can tell it’s completely “stock” and in great condition. Just needed a little truss rod tweak and the saddles adjusted and it sounds great!

  9. What’s the thinking about Carvin basses these days? I’ve read the old thread with the background and the Kiesel takeover.

This one looks rather nice! (On a well known Italian website)
