1. Selling my EBS Reidmar head - great little bass amp, really powerful and yet really light too which means you can get the killer EBS tone but without having to break your back! This amp has never been gigged, still has its original packaging and box and is in as new condition. More about the amp can be found here - http://www.ebssweden...ent/reidmar.php I am also selling my EBS neo 212 cab and the two together make for an awesome rig.
 2. I have decided to move on my EBS Neo 2x12 cab, it's an awesome cab - really light but with a thunderous bottom end but also able to give you those glassy highs too with the right head. More about EBS neo cabs can be found here: http://www.ebssweden...ent/neoline.php I have only used this cab at rehearsals and never gigged with it so its in great condition. The Reidmar head is also up for sale - see my other items for sale.
 3. I have decided to sell my beloved Mu-Tron III envelope filter as it just is not getting the use that it deserves. This is the real deal, made by Musitronics and not the awful Haz Labs re-issue. Sounds amazing and is the holy grail when it comes to envelope filters, Stevie Wonder, Gerry Garcia and Bootsy Collins can't all be wrong! I have had this pedal worked on by Richard at Lingenberg Sound in the States who is the absolute master at on these pedals. He has done his highly recommended work which includes, re-calibration, true bypass enabled, 9v power powered (so that it runs easily on your pedal board) and also a blue LED that shows clearly when the pedal is engaged. More about Richard and his work can be found here - http://lingenbergsou...-Trom%20Service It's in great condition for it's age, works flawlessly and sounds great.
 4. I have been using Mark Bass LM3 with a GB Rumour and MM Stingray for a few years now and it works perfectly for funk/disco type stuff that I play, really warm and deep sounding. TC RH750 just did not work for me in this setting so perhaps better suited for rock stuff?
 5. Looking for it now!
There is one in the classifieds right now.
6. Watching some F bass clips on You Tube it really does seem to deliver "that sound"!! Anyone used one - they sound bloody great to me.
Marc Pero usually plays an F bass.
7. Thanks for the tips - I love slapping at home but live just ain't no fun anymore! I have a jazz with an East pre in too so will give those settings a whirl and see if I can get somewhere near. I have been using the Compressor to try and beef the sound for slap but without great results.
 8. I was listening to this track on the way to work this morning and just wondered how on earth you get such a great slap tone? I am increasingly finding that when I slap live, all of the bottom end drops out of my tone and our sound feels really compromised. It's got so bad for me that now I play slap lines with finger style to avoid this frustration! Bearing in mind this is a live recording it's a hell of a tone and the thumbed parts really drive the bottom end of their sound - any tips on how to replicate in a live environment would be welcome! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pxauXywSfcU
 9. Thanks for the compliment!
That's incredible!!!!
10. No Andy, just trying to free up some cash!
YOU OUT SHOPPING MARK? OR DOWNSCALLING..? LOVELY BASS MARK ,BEST CLASSIC 5 IVE SEEN. GOOD LUCK WITH SALE BUD.
11. Sorry - just edited but it is in natural finish. I will get some decent pics up later today.
 12. Looking to sell my MM Stingray 5 Classic in natural with a 3 band John East pre-amp fitted and probably the most highly figured birds eye maple neck and fretboard that you will ever see on a Stingray. This bass is in mint condition, it has never been gigged and even has the bar code sticker still on the back from when it was bought! The East pre makes it much more adaptable than the stock pre and it is an absolute monster with so much variance of tone available. There is a lot of sentiment wrapped up in this bass. It was built the day before my son was born in 2011 and I bought it so that he would have his own YOB bass should he ever take up the instrument but we have just moved house and money is a bit too tight to be tied up in luxuries like this! Comes with all original paperwork and Musicman hard case. Please no trades though!
 13. Have to say that I am not a massive fan of those non cutaway designs I think the look weird - lovely wood though and good to see Bernie delivering something new.
 14. Hmmm - could have sworn I said exactly that yesterday!
Hi Simon, I've replied to your PM with some of my views based on what you've said.... but also, from the above regarding isolation, those things should be snug in your ear. The isolation should be very noticable... like sticking your fingers in your ears. You should be finding it very difficult to hearing any sounds from around you. If you have a leakage, you'll be losing a lot of bottom end from the word go also.
15. Yep T3's are your problem here - the single driver just does not cut it for bass players I am afraid even though they are still bloody expensive. If you compare the T1 against the T3 they are like chalk and cheese, to put it simply to get the best bass response you have got to have a dedicated bass driver to handle all the low end that your bass will produce. I agree about speaking direct to ACS (go to Andy Shiach the MD) and see how you get on.
Sorry, slight correction - it's a set of T3's I have (single driver), not the triple driver T1's. I do suspect the seal might not be part of the problem, as just using them as earplugs, I'm really not noticing much attenuation of background noise. Might be quicker to contact ACS direct, rather than going through my local retailer (who have been OK, but it just adds delays).
16. This all sounds too familiar to me! I had ER-15's and then deceided to dip my toe in the water and try the ACS T-15 which replaced the filter and gave you a good entry level IEM but the result was horrendous absolutely no bass and bad distortion too, infact the buds with my AT IEM system sounded 100 times better and gave so much more bass. I went back to ACS (in person) and explained what I was hearing, their owner took time to sit down with me and was shocked that as a bass player I was told that the T15 route would work, he took out his brief case and let me listen to some tunes using the T1 triple driver IEM's through a generic headphone. I was blown away by the difference in bass response and the highs too. He gave me a cracking deal on the price to change and I ordered them there and then. I used them regularly on rehearsals in our studio and they always sounded great, loads of bass and they made rehearsals so much more fun it was like listening to a CD rather than us. So I would say that you must have a problem with the fit of your T1's, when I wear mind I can't hear anything in the room it is just like wearing ear plugs and that is what then makes the bass response so good. I am not sure that ACS could offer you a refund but they are a great company to deal with and I am sure will work with you until you can get it right.
Holla folks, just wondering if anyone here has had experience recently of ACS in-ears? Recently Mrs Simon. treated me to a set of in-ears to use as general headphones and for practicing at home. My old and much loved Sennheiser CX6's were starting to fall to pieces, albeit audio-wise they were still perfect, and a replacement was needed. A number of years back I got a set of ER-15 earplugs and they remain to this day the single best music related purchase I've ever made, so I was quite keen to go down the moulded route again. I decided on the ACS T1's, had the impressions done and waited a couple of weeks. Even though I was expecting and prepared for a different sound from what I was used to with the old CX6's, my disappointment on trying them was immediate! Decent clarity on vocals, but overall tinny and with no bass response at all. I tried A/B tests with my old headphones, and even a fairly cheap pair, and all had better response. I even felt that the right channel on it’s own was just about acceptable, but the left was unusable – real AM radio quality sound. So, back they went for a check over, especially as I, and others, felt that was a disparity between left and right. However, I received them back again this morning, with a note saying they couldn’t find anything wrong with them, and once again, IMO, they are just terrible. They suck the life out of anything, no bass response, and to be honest I’m not noticing any benefit of the supposed 26dB of isolation. Background noise levels are virtually identical with them in or out. So, does anyone know where I stand on getting a refund on these, considering they are a custom product? Also, I have wondered if they fit of the moulding might be somewhat to blame. They feel really comfortable to wear, but the lack of isolation makes me wonder if that might be the root cause. Any thoughts?
17. The RH750 is plenty loud enough - never had an issue with the volume it could output just the tone! Markbass LM3 into Bergantino 1x12 still takes some beating IMHO but am liking the EBS Reidmar into EBS 2x12 for something completely different!
Not tried the RH750 but I was underwhelmed by the tone of the RH450. As far as Markbass heads go, I've found my favourite with the discontinued TA-501. An LM3 into an Aguilar SL112 also sounded great, better than playing it through a Markbass cab.
18. Personally I couldn't get on with the TC stuff, sounded great at home but live it just seemed to lose the quality of tone at higher volumes. In terms of functionality and features they are way better though and I really wanted to love their stuff but my ears told me different!!
 19. Bumping this up to see if any Basschatters in the area fancy listening to some funk and disco grooves on Saturday?
