1.
weekend bump, offers anyone??
Final price drop to £425 before I give up, I'll leave it at this price for a week then give it back to the owner if it remains unsold, it's a hell of a price for a compact lightweight 600 watt PA in excellent condition.
2. Another bit of gear up for the chop, this is a sabra-som stereo mounting bar for stereo recording on a single mic stand, very handy for quick setup and minimalist recording. Fully adjustable in eery plane, was very expensive when new. This one has a crack in the mount so is not suitable for LDC mics, but works excellently with small diaphragm condensors and is very secure (I had no problem mounting my Neumanns on there, it's sturdy as anything). £20 posted because of the crack, but it really doesn't affect usability unless you want to mount a couple of really heavy mics on there. Top quality bit of kit at a basschat bargain price!
3. Next up for the chop is a Behringer mixing desk, Euro series UB1202 with 4 mic inputs and 4 stereo channels. Mono inputs have 3 band shelving EQ, there's a few outputs and efx routing, but a basic little mixer as you can see from the photos. It's in reasonable condition and everything works apart from the tape outputs on RCA jacks which are intermittent. It;s quite sticky from being sprayed with anti-static at it's last clean-out, but I've burnished all the sockets about 6 months ago so all the important stuff works. Ideal for setting up monitor mixes, or just for controlling a little studio. Comes with pictured power supply, and the manual if I can find it (I'm 75% sure I know where it is). Bargain at £30 posted in UK as I need to clear out some stuff.
4. Next up in the great clearout, a MIDI Controller keyboard. It's USB, and also acts as a USB MIDI interface for other MIDI-enabled gear, such as the V-AMP2 I also have for sale here. It's two-octave with full sized keys, nice action, and 8 programmable knobs for performance or mixing. It has pitch and mod wheels, and a data input fader, octave up/down and you can do lots of clever things with it in reason/logic etc. Totally buss powered so no need for external power. Excellent condition with only home studio use. MIDI cables available at £2 each extra if you need them for MIDI networking. £40 shipped for one of the best little controllers on the market.
5. I have two XLR cables to get rid of in the big clearout, they're 11m long, made from van damme mic cable and neutrik XLR connectors, and will last a helluva long time on stage or in studio, so are a better bet long term than cheapo cables that break after a couple of sessions. 10m built cables are £40 normally, but I paid £70 for this pair. One of them has been used in a couple of studio sessions, the other one is brand spanking new, still tie-wrapped from the factory; the other one is indistinguishable from new, and has never been trodden on or anything. Both obviously work perfectly; I only use Van Damme and Neutrik because there are no better cables and connectors on the earth, and they don't stretch your sockets like Monsters. £25 each posted in the UK, priced for a quick sale. Would swap both for a Boss TU-2 pedal, i know it's a long shot! J
6.
That's a great-looking piece of proper old JapCrap. Definitely a very early example with the black button tuners & big chrome trc, there's no specific way to date pre serial Fujigens, but 1972 is the latest that this would be. The equivalent Ibanez is the 2365B and Antorias often shared the same model numbers. The pickups on these are excellent, they are single coils, despite the twin rows of pole pieces, but are very high output, usually 10 - 11k. I am very interested in this but unfortunately having just bought an Ibby Blazer project it's unlikely I'll be able to make an offer... How's the intonation, with that 2-saddle bridge? Jon.
Thanks for the info, I only has an inkling as to the history on this one. The intonation's great up until the 12th fret, but I haven't played with the setup at all since I got it, it came to me playing well enough for my tastes. The pickups do sound great, and I planned to put some ashtrays on it to restore it to it's former glory but haven't had the money to do it. Make me an offer, you know you want it!!
7. As it says, Behringer V-amp 2 (blue guitar version) in case with power supply and 2-channel foot switch. Has a few marks and scratches but works perfectly. Power supply has been PAT tested. Used to use this as my main bass preamp and sounded good. It hasn't seen much action since I got the Trace Elliot and Phil Jones, so It's got to go in the almighty clearout I'm having. £50 posted to mainland UK.
8. I really can't play guitar. I'm serious, I'm absolutely terrible. That, combined with the fact I'm having to move for work and can't take that much with me, means I'm having a big clearout and this lovely guitar has to go. I've owned this from new and bought it in 2003. It's mexican, and sounds beautiful, plays stunningly, and you can see how good it looks. Matte purple finish (has a couple of areas where it's going slightly shiny) maple one-piece neck, staggered-pole pickups which sound superb. It's been used mainly in the studio although I've done a couple of gigs on it. Apart from the slightly shiny patches where my arm rubs against it when playing (the top edge when playing), it's pretty immaculate, with no dings or scratches, no fret wear, no problems with the electronics. Action is low and fast, and can go lower still. It still has the original plastic on the pickguard, so if you take that off it'll look brand new. It's in a semi-hard case which is really lightweight and offers great protection (and cost me £80), which I'll throw in to the sale as I have no other guitars and I'm not going to be buying another in the forseeable future. Great guitar, looks great on a stage, and needs to get off the top of my wardrobe and onto a stage! £350 shipped in the lovely case, no trades really unless you've got a Schroeder 1212L lying around, but I really shouldn't be buying any more gear anyway!!
9. I'm moving house soon for work, and I can only take one bass with me. I've decided it's going to be the stingray, so this has to go. Got it a while back from Rasta in a trade, and it's a fine bass, very 70s sounding, and plays well. Very woody percussive tone, pickups are great and it stays in tune fine. There's a varitone circuit fitted at the moment which I'm selling with the bass, look them up on ebay or youtube, they're a passive circuit with a high pass filter, output level, rotary pickup selector, and six capacitor banks selectable via another rotary switch, and as a result it's got a few good sounds in it. I'll include the original electronics on the original control plate in with the bass. The bass was made in Japan in 1972 by Fujigen-Gakki, and is the same bass as the Ibanez of the same vintage. Lots of dings and scratches from 37 years of playing, but still going strong. It's got screw holes for ashtrays and a thumb rest. I've decided active basses are more 'my thing' so I'm looking to move this on. I've no idea how much this is worth, so send me an offer. I'd like a cash sale ideally, but would entertain offers of EBS pedals (especially a multicomp) + cash. I don't have a case for the bass, but it will be securely packed. Come and have a play if you're in the north west, or alternatively I'll post pretty much anywhere for cost. Let me know if you need any more photos also, and I'll take any more specific ones as required.
10. price drop to £450 delivered, I need to get rid of this!
11.
Could you give me the internal dimensions? I might be interested in it as a pedalboard
Sure thing, they're: 1020mm x 355mm x 100mm, hope this helps. James.
12. These are some of the best guitar amps ever made - used to have one in the studio, can't believe how loud they get or how good they sound with a good guitarist!! If I could play guitar, I'd have this off you in a second.
13. Hi, this is a custom made guitar case, made for me about 10 years ago by the Stagebox in Blackpool. It's a plywood flightcase construction with steel ball corners and three latches. It's super-heavy-duty blue carpet on the outside, and faux leopard fur on the inside. It's awesome and unique, but I haven't used it since I sold my headless bass, and I can;t play guitar, so I suppose it'd better go! collection from blackpool area preferred, but I'll post at cost (prob. about £10). Perfect condition despite being gigged (this thing'll last a lifetime), and I'll even give it a quick hoover before sending it out. I'm asking £30 but I must clear some stuff out as it's taking over my house so make me an offer if you like. Thanks, J.
14. Hi Everyone, I'm selling a PA package on behalf of a friend, it's excellent, very lightweight and powerful. There's an Arena 12 channel powered mixer, with 8 mono and 2 stereo channels, the usual three-band shelving eqs on each channel, subgroups, inbuilt effects, a master graphic EQ, different output groups and loads of extra nifty features. It's internal amp delivers 300w per side at 8 ohms, and there's line outs so you can run bins in tandem as well if needed. It weighs around 10-15kg (purely guessed that figure though!), but that's the mixer, efx and amps all in one small package. The cabs are the ever-popular EVIDs, I'm pretty sure they're the 6.2s, and are 300w; these are full range and great on their own, and also make great tops if you add bins for bigger gigs. These cabs are very sensitive (100db 1w/1m for those who care) o have a higher output than most regular PA cabs. They weigh around 5kg each, and the whole rig fits in the front seat of my car. They have recessed bolt attachments top and bottom, and extra washers are included. They also have hang tags which are very useful (suspend from light rig etc), and come with original wall brackets which are angle-marked, very adjustable and industrial strength. Rubber logos have been removed for a more low-profile look, and are included in the sale. These cabs have the standard spring-terminal cable mounts, but have been modified to include neutrik locking jack sockets, for better reliability and ease of integration with the system. These are on standard d-type panels so could be switched out to speakon, XLR or whatever you want. The mixer is in perfect condition and has only been used on three gigs, (it's a bit big for the wedding-jazz gigs he does, he now uses a single yamaha passport cab!), apart from one 'label' he made with tip-ex near the mute light to remind him of the orientation - it looks like a handy addition! Operationally perfect, I've just tested everything, and there are no crackles or problems anywhere on it. The cabs have had use, and have a few scuffs and marks, although there are no dents in the grilles and they look great. Again, operationally perfect with no rattles - this rig is LOUD when cranked, and will be great for smaller gigs on its own, and great for bigger gigs with extra bins (although I'm captain overkill when it comes to PA and have put a 40K rig in for an audience of 300, so don't listen to anything I say!). That's about it, any questions, feel free to ask. The whole package cost about £1000 when new, so I'll start at a price of [s]£600[/s] £450 and now with free UK delivery. Delivery, collection or meeting possible, I'm based near blackpool. No cables are included in this sale, Martin wanted to keep them for his yamaha rig, but you can use two jack-jack speaker cables and a kettle lead to run the whole thing! £450 posted for a quality, compact lightweight 600W rig with effects, offers welcomed, I'll have to run them past Martin first though! photos are quite high-res, so have a look around the features and channel strips on the mixer (I even nulled the desk for you!) and the adaptations and connections on the cabs. Final price drop to £425 posted in the UK.
15. back to the top. I'll consider trades on a lightweight 5 string, or a jazz just because I've never had one before.
16. weekend bump. may take a jazz in trade, show me what you've got (or a VMJ with a j-retro, I know its a long shot)
17. I bought this ESP Ltd 6 string off a basschatter in january this year, and have used it as my main bass since. I've slowly migrated back to the 4-bangers though in the past couple of months, and as fun and challenging as the 6 strings have been, I find it more fun with 4 strings, and my terribly dodgy back likes the weight of an SB300 much better. Basswood body, flame maple top, matt gold hardware, ESP pickups, active with 3 band EQ, pickup blend and master level control. EQ is surprisingly flexible and powerful, there's a few tones in there but it mostly does rock/metal tones like a guddun. Rosewood fretboard, fretted, and I've recently done the 'board with ernie ball fretboard conditioner so it looks fantastic. The neck is 24 fret, 5 piece maple and walnut, with twin truss rods which give quite a lot of relief. The action doesn't go super-flat (at least not in my mediocre hands), but it's wonderfully playable and the d-profile neck is very comfortable, took me about 6 hours to get used to it after the super-thin neck of the bass collection. The EQ handles detuning to A nicely with no farting out, the bass is quite middy when set flat, but this helps it cut through the mix, and it's easy to dial it out. Sounded epic with my LMII, and sounds downright dirty through my Trace. Hasn't been played for a few weeks, and the strings might need changing if you like it super-zingy. Comes with excellent fitted ESP hard case in fake-leather type material. There's a few dings and scratches from playing, most of them came with the bass to me, and I've looked after it nicely. Some minor buckle rash and a couple of marks in the fretboard, but nothing to worry about. side-mounted jack plate, in matching matt-gold. string spacing is about 16mm, and the fret markers are either abalone or something which looks remarkably similar; they're very pretty anyway. This bass weighs very slightly more than my stingray. If you'd like to know anything else about it, please either PM me, post in the thread or both, I'll try and check it as often as I can. I paid £350 for it in January and would ideally like to get this back, but would consider trades+cash for a 5-string sgc nanyo bass collection (something like an sb305) pref. in black, a sansamp BDDI or similar dirtifier. Offers considered, if you're in the north west, come and have a look and a play, I'll post pretty much anywhere for cost. Thanks for looking, and let me know if there's anything else you need to know. J
18. My (SGC Nanyo) Bass Collection SB300 has a superbly thin neck, and is incredibly comfortable. In comparison the neck of my stingray seems quite thick, but with a very comfortable profile and wide string spacing. I have quite short fingers and find the bass collection to be very fast, but I'm more accurate on the stingray.
