1. If you had a bit happier background for the composites, I'd say you were some kind of ska band - am I close?
2. On hold. Is seven seconds a new basschat record for a sale?
3. Hi, I'm selling a frame-type angled 10u rack as I sold most of my studio gear late last year, and have finally shifted the last rack bits into a flight case. It comes apart and packs flat (for postage), and I'm including all the caged nuts, hex bolts, plastic washers and spanners to fill the thing with gear. £25 posted it's yours. oh, it's black - if you really want a photo I'll take one. James.
4. I took a 100W valve 1x15 combo, no.1 and no.2 basses, but found it a bit loud and hot in a room where you could touch both walls if you reached out your arms sideways! Replaced the amp with a Phil Jones Bass Buddy in my final year for space reasons, and a pair of Beyer DT150 cans, still sounds ace, and I still use the 10W amp in the 'Jones into a cab for practice now!
5.
i dunno, i like it in a wierd way.
If it was shorter, I think I'd agree, but all that wood south of the bridge does nothing for me.
6.
Hmm... my cousin could be in the market for a pair of drum overheads. I'll let him know about these.
Excellent. They make superb drum overheads, and are very flexible, being multi-pattern. In a good, big room they sound amazing in omni pattern, but in smaller rooms the rear rejection of the cardioid pattern means you can get great recordings anywhere. They have pads and filters built in too, which are very handy. I've been using them for stereo classical recording as well as overheads and vocals, and have got some great results. Let me know, J
7. checked over and it's warped quite a lot - don't know when that happened, but it's now gone in the green bin. J
8.
Any idea what it weighs and if it's 4 or 8 ohms?
Weighs 21KG and is 4 Ohms. edit: haha, you beat me to it!
9. Now gone, thanks guys. J
10. rayfw: you have PM MB1: deepthought: certainly!
11.
I bought some mics from J a few months back and they arrived in great shape and perfectly as described. Good luck. G
Thanks G, I thought you'd come back to buy some more off me!
12.
Nngg. How much of the neck pocket on the double cut would be left if its was tidied up? Could it be made into a bass? I've got all the parts laying about to make either of these into a (likely crude and bodgy) instrument, and the inclination to do so. Whats postage gonna be? Here's the reult of last time I took something like this on, sacrificed my first electric to the gods of ugly:
damn that's an ugly guitar!
13. hi guys, that was quick! explorer body has gone. the double cut will need another piece of wood laminating onto the top to make it thick enough to be viable. to be honest I don't think it's worth rescuing if you're not local, and it's waay to small to make a bass - the neck diveness would be a sight to behold. My idea was to make an ultra lightweight, thin guitar but I made a balls of it. cheapest postage I can find is about £9, but if anybody can find cheaper, I'm happy to send by your preferred method. J
14.
Sad Bastard though he might be - he's not lying!!
15.
A good deal, but I'm looking more for something I can stack tracks together on without a computer. I've already got a good mixer.
The Boss Micro BR is a nice unit and has lots of handy features. It's really tiny and sounds ok for such a small thing. It has a drum machine built in which can be good for laying tracks over, and I think you can record four audio tracks on it. I'd say it's worth a shot if portability is important to you. Haven't used the others, but was impressed with the micro BR - the effects are excellent on it too.
16. Hi, I'm looking to get rid of my beloved pair of Rode NT2000 large diaphragm condensers, in hard cases with spider suspension mounts. work excellently, and they're a well matched pair. One of them has had the grille glued back in with hot glue to absorb the rattle it had from the factory. Now performs better than new. Solid construction, excellent sound and very versatile. continuously variable between cardioid, through all cardioid variations, through omni, to figure eight. work very nicely in a stereo pair, and I have produced results with these and a high quality preamp which beat a £3500 soundfield mic. no recordings as I don't have protools at the moment and guess which program I recorded them in and didn't bounce out of These go for £280 each new, I'm asking £180 each posted, or £350 for both, inc. postage. I take fastidiously good care of my gear and these have always been stored in humidity controlled mic lockers, in hard cases with regularly replaced silica gel bags over the capsules. Might be tempted by trades of any bass gear of similar value, or an EBS microbass II and a chunk of cash... whatcha got? J
17. Kustom 40 watt geetar amp, used to use this as a bass amp and have gigged with it on both guitar and bass. Looking a bit sorry for itself after having been used for nearly eight years - bought from the mighty Argos - source of all consumer goods, for about £120 when I was much younger. Cuts out intermittently, has been taken apart and cleaned recently, has also been burnished. has a few sticky marks and a dent or two, but works ok most of the time. collection only as it's really not worth posting. £10 takes it, or if you're absolutely desperate for it, £20 posted. J
18. Rode boom pole, 3m very strong and light. Have been using with small diaphragm condensers, but now surplus to requirements. they're £75 new I think, so £40 posted will take it.
19. Not sure if these are worth posting, but they'll go in the recycling next week if nobody wants one helluva project. Two guitar bodies, the explorer one is made from a really nice dense hardwood which I can't remember the name of, but cost me about £85 when I was 16, which was several years ago now. I butchered it, and so it's yours if you're willing to put in the time to rescue it. Second, mahogany body which was destined to be a single pickup les paul special but never quite made it. untidy neck pocket to say the least. probably not worth posting, but I'll offer it before chucking it out. Yours for postage if you'd like them, or either one. J
20. Here we have a guitar neck blank. I just tried to snap the headstock angled part off and throw it in the green bin, but failed miserably. Therefore, despite being not plumb-straight, it's a very strong neck joint. Will make a les paul style neck for a guitar. I'm not thinking of doing anything with it in the near future, so if you think it's worth posting, PM me and we'll sort it out. Nice bit of mahogany, a couple of years old now and hasn't warped. Yours for the cost of postage, otherwise it's going in the recycling next week. J
