I had the same prolem with a drummer last year he decided to go to france for a dirty weekend and we had to pull out of a festival once they do something like that you have to question there commitment we gave our drummer another chance he said he was sorry and said it wont happen again we then booked a studio session with a months notice and he then phoned us a week before telling us he was going to new zeland sacked him straight away had to council 6 gigs +the studio time and then spent 5 months looking for another drummer but we now have a band with full commitment it does not work unless you all are singing from the same tree Gary
1 of 212 is enough with the Fafner, that's generally what I use. It's 600w and the Fafner pushes much less than that into a 4ohm cab and it's bloody loud with loads of clarity. It's enough to keep up with a full metal band. Have a 2nd 212 is you really need the volume. I found the 212 to sou d clearer and more defined than the 410 anyway. But that's just me. I'd go try them all
Thanks mate for your help i will let you no what i am going to use
Yes i did, but briefly........I came from using a trace 4x10 but the EBS was clean, tight and pwerful with more punch and very responsive to the higher frequencies. I find the combination of 210 and 115 best suited for me and the size was convenient also. I recommend that you try out this stuff as it is very subjective
Iam torn at the moment between 2x2x12 and 1x 4x10 only really on the basis of size as the neo 4x10 is rated at 1000 w so would only need this cab with the fafner
I think that Bernie's basses have a much wider spectrum of use than just benefiting from being played through EBS gear. The basses are awesome and so is the amplification. I favour the 115 and 210 with hd 350 head. The 15 gives a great piano type tone at the low end and great clarity, and is not at all flappy. I had a 212 on loan from Bernie and that was a little more rounded in its sound, but i found them both similar in the amount of punch. The 15 was the keeper in the end
DiD YOU GET TO TRY THE 4X10 NEO

when i first stated playing 30+ years ago there was not much chioce of cabs and amps around my first set up was an HH Bass Machine 250 watt head with a 1x15 hh cab and a small carslbro bass combo the 15 inch cabs then where very heavey and very wooley sounding no tweaters then trace elliot got on the seen and then ashdown we all then started to experiment with 4 x10 2x15 2x10 1 x15 12 inch drivers seem to be a bit hit or miss after several set ups i have found that you have more scope with your sound with 12 inch drivers with a tweeter love the sound of 2x12 cabs with tweeter to really get a top quality sound 2x12x2 with tweeters takes some beating one other reason why i asked about your 1x15 cab if the wattage is differant from the 2x12 in past experance i have found that as soon as the lower wattage cab starts to peak it effects the sound from the other cab and can cause conflict i know people say that you should try to match amp output with cabs to drive the speaker but if you are looking for a nice quality claen sound at reasnable sound levels i have found that you need to have loads of head room in both cabs with some power handling i will be changing my aggies for the neo cabs as i also know that bernie seems to set is basses up for the ebs equipment as he will tell you if you are useing something else you are not hearing what his basses are about
I like Bernie pickups with the GB logo on them, like these... They're pretty cool. Not keen on these with the name printed across them though. Love the colour on this bass though. Real deep aqua like. Very nice
Thanks for the couler of my bass i no what you mean about the pickups i have recently had the bass over hauled by bernie up graded the electrics and had a new hipshot bridge fitted and a reset of the neck along with new control nobs i also prefere the pickup covers with the gb logo on them and i can and propobly will have them changed in the futre as i matter of interest i see you have an EBS Neo 2x12 i currently are looking at going over to ebs cabs from my aquilars how do you find them with the preamp on bernies basses can they handle the bottom end that his basses can deliver
This is a feeler, but with a proper price tag. I am considering selling my Aguilar DB212s. I have two, and they are both 8 ohms, thus making a massive doom 4x12 rig but have the option of using one cab for smaller gigs and being modular. Can I also add, those worrying about 8 ohm 2x12s on their own have nothing to fear. I have played in very loud and chaotic hardcore punk bands, covers bands, and a new band where there are three guitarists/drummer/3 vocals, etc etc. An 8 ohm mid sized cabinet like this never runs out of steam. I never worry about overpowering it. My Little Mark 3 doesnt go above 1/2 volume with a Precision...and thats with one cab and 300W with it running at 8ohms. Some amps may not be amazing at 8 ohms...but all of mine, including past amps, have been fantastic. I like the fact I could truly have a proper 4x12 or 2x12 when needed. They are a really pretty Chocolate Thunder, with gold piping and black corners. Take a look on the Aguilar site here: http://www.aguilaramp.com/gfx/products_details_db212_ct.jpg I am very attached to these cabinets, but I have just moved into a new apartment, and I am not going to be using them for the new bands I have joined due to transport. Out of all the cabinets I have owned, these are at the top of my list for sheer 'wow' factor. Awesome chewy mids and a really full and powerful low end, (you can really feel it even with one cab). Not only that, they are very articulate and my favourite tweeter so far, (even better than a Berg tweeter!). The clarity is great, but not hissy. You can play what the hell you like with these cabinets....they just 'work'. They come with removable casters that were supplied with the cabinet as normal. They also come with the proper Aguilar padded covers. Condition: 10/10 for all of it...the covers, the cabs, the corners, the wheels. Everything. Perfecto! Reason?! Partly transport. I dont want them to go to waste This is feeler though. I may come to my senses and just deal with the transport another way. They retail for approx. £679.00 + for each cabinet and £89 for each cover and thats with the lowest prices on the internet. Thats £1536. I would be looking for £575 each including the covers...or £1100 for both including the covers. Dont be put off by the weight...they weigh a lot less than an Ampeg 4x10! I assume if you want a 2x12 or 4x12 you arent that bothered about weight anyway. The casters make weight a non-issue IMO. Specs: DB 212 Based on the same sonic footprint as the DB 112, the DB 212 is a great mid sized cabinet for medium to large venues. The full sound of the 12" speakers is complimented by a birch cabinet that is tuned to have a punchy midrange. Specs Speaker Compliment: Two 12" cast frame woofers, 56 oz. magnets, phenolic tweeter with phase plug Power Handling: 600 watts RMS Frequency Response: 41 Hz to 16 kHz Sensitivity: 98 dB 1W 1M Dimensions: 24 3/4" H, 24 1/2" W, 17 3/8" D Weight: 70 lbs.
Don't Sell !!!!!!! you will regreat it I have a pair of gs 2x12 at 4 ohms so get the full power from my ashdown abm 900 never had the amp past 1 /3rd great cabs
