  1. I forgive you. Seriously, I thought they looked brilliant, irrespective of what the Bass Police might think.
  2. Hello down there.
  3. Welcome fellow sufferer.
  4. Seriously, [s]yes, the canapes sound delicious, some vol au vents would be nice as well.[/s] Would you split if jack could get the cab somehow? I could collect, I'm not around the corner but at least in the same hemisphere.
  5. No answer yet Jack. Perhaps he thinks we're joking.
  6. While you are dropping the cab to Jack in Newcastle, could you drop the head off to me in Maidenhead. I'll make you a cup of tea. Ta.
  7. Straw.
  8. Hello from another Berkshire boy.
  9. They are yours Mandark.
  10. Rotosound 66 standard gauge 40/50/75/90 Bought in error, needed longscale. E has been put on the tuner and mistake realised, otherwise brand new. Free to anyone who wants to collect from Maidenhead, Berks.
  11. Hey Gav, come on in, the water's luvverly.
  12. Nice sofa. Only joking, great bass.
  13. Well, so far, I've been in the studio a couple of times and we've got rough mixes down on 2 songs, and I've had 2 "auditions" with a blues band and I got the job, more through my enthusiasm than my playing ability I reckon, but nevertheless great fun. Been enjoying the forum, and as my knowledge grows, I might even feel like voicing opinions now and again, rather than just asking dumb questions.
  14. Alright, apart from the GAS thing, I'm a noddy, aging rocker who has had a bass since age 14, who has finally decided to get out there and play some music before the 60th looms too close. I have basses, and a 1 x 15, and a 2 x 10 GK cabs, both oldies but goodies, also a Yorkville 450w head. My question is regarding the head, it seems to be little known in these parts, being Canadian made, I think. What happens if you go out for a gig and your amp doesn't fire up? Is it reasonable or indeed necessary to carry a spare. Chances of both the cabs being dud are slim I would say, but how much can you trust and elderly solid state amp? I've got a gig as part of a duo in 3 weeks time (albeit a charidy gig), also I've had an "audition" as bass player in a blues trio last week and they've asked me back for another look, so I feel I owe it to myself to GAS another amp. Or am I just looking for an excuse to spend money I can't really afford?
  15. Crumble cookies etc. What you need is a Boss ME50B (with power supply and 40 pages of instructions) and some cash!
  16. I would have had this. I pm'd you on sunday and had the money in my pocket.
  17. Thanks for your help chaps.
  18. I would think that if you suffer from GAS, then a purchase would be essential. (It certainly was for me). Not loud enough for anything, but looks magic in the right situation and sounds bright and lovely when amped up. Why not?????
  19. Thanks Hamfist, will send a pm NOW.
  20. Nicely answered, many thanks.
  21. Sorry, if this has been covered before, could someone post a link please? Question..... What are the differences between the MAG range and the ABM range. Or have I got my wires crossed and one is a combo. Heard people mentioning that Ashdown now import some gear from China, when did this start, and should the Chinese gear be avoided? Orrrrr, to simplify, Could somebody recommend me a good Ashdown head please. Ta awfully
  22. Hi Avi
  23. Reminds me of the Not the Nine O'clock News sketch where the auctioneer introduces lot No 298 "the Caymann Blue" (postage stamp) thought to be the only one in existence etc etc. It sells for 3.5 million or something like that. Next is lot No 299..... another Caymann Blue
