4. I recently bought a mooer pure octave pedal which is really good!! It has lots of octave options and its only £59, tracks great, I'm really happy with it. It looks like a toy, but it is really good.

 6. Thought I'd put a couple more Pics up to show how nice the neck grain is. Also forgot to mention it has Carbon Rods in the neck and a super low action. Cheers
 7. Peavey Cirrus USA 5 String Bolt on. (Mahogany Body Walnut Neck) I looked into getting a custom build bass last year and everything I was looking for the peavey cirrus modal had. Great Woods, Hipshot Hardware, Great Neck Radius and string spacing etc. I notice that the peavey ticked pretty much all my boxes and I loved the sound that Mike Porcaro had from his USA Peavey Cirrus. Everything thing I read about the basses was extremely positive. A luthier friend of mine told me that the best resonance/sustain comes from unfinished woods, so I decided to to go with the Mahogany Bolt on. The pickups also follow the radius of the finger board like the Brian Bromberg Carvin Signature. This Bass was made in the USA Custom shop where they build all US Cirrus basses. It seems that they're not making these basses at the moment. When you could by these the bolt on 5's retailed at around £1799 This bass sounds truly spectacular! the Pickups and 3 band EQ are fantastic, its a very smooth sounding bass. It sound great plugged straight into a DI and is great for recording. The reason I'm selling it is because its a 35" scale. I'm a full time bass player and spend most of the day with a bass in my hand, all my other basses are 34" Scale. Its in Great condition!

Made in Peavey USA Custom Shop
Mahogany Body
35 inch scale
Solid mahogany bolt-on body and neck construction
Unique sculptured neck heel joint for easy access to upper register
Walnut neck with wenge fretboard
24 frets
Tilt headstock
All satin gold hardware
Hipshot™ mini-style machine heads
Individual fingerstyle bridge system with Dual Compression™ technology
On-board active 3-band EQ
Bass, variable mid and treble control
10 dB boost and cut
Two Peavey VFL™ active pickups
Case included with case candy!!
I'm happy to trade, I live in lowestoft in suffolk but I'm happy to travel to meet up, I'm looking for a half decent 6 string preferably 34" Scale. please don't hesitate with questions! Cheers
 8. Hey Guys, I've been flying very regulaly with a bass at least once a month since 2004 and I've gone through every case from solid flight cases to gig bags hoping I'd get the bass on board. I found that most Artist management won't pay for an extra seat and more and more airlines won't let you take basses on board. So I was buying hiscox cases and replacing them every 4-6 months because they were breaking so often. I then found the SKB Bass Safe. It's really good, I've had it for just over a year now and it's still in great condition. It comes with a lifetime warranty so even when i lost a wheel I contacted customer services and they sent a new one straight away for free!! Awesome service. I find the catches do need to be locked or they can work loose. But this has really taken the stress out of flying for me. Hope that helps.
 9. Whoops, just getting used to this. I changed it to an EMG 40 DC humbucker originally and had a custom built search plate. I now use the same bass with 2 EMG DC 40's one slightly closer to the neck of where the original pickup was and one closer to the brige. Sounds nice but a bit more like a shadowsky Jazz now. I used it on the 'Il Divo Live in Barcelona' Album if you want to hear what the bass sounds like. I also put the direct EMG MMTW into another SR5 that sounded nice. I like the Duncan pickups they sound great too.
 10.
Welcome to BC Jimmi. What did you change the pickup to in the end?
11. If your wanting more of the 'mwah' tone you'll need to adjust the action of the bass down to just up a bit from buzzing. That's where that meah sound lies. Most of your tone is actually the way you play, there's more tone in your fingers than any pickup. I'd encourage you to practice unplugged to get the 'mwah' vibe happening. Pretty much all the pickups listed above will do a great job!!
 12. Hello!! this is my first post!! this forum is very cool! I've been a Stingray user since i was 19 and i'm now 32 i've been a full time freelance bass player all that time too. I love the the whole vibe of the Stingray they built to be played! they're amazing apart from the stock pickups, they just aren't great. I fitted an East U-Retro on an HS Stingray I used to own and I love the east preamps but it sounded nasty. When I changed the pickup I finally had the bass I wanted! You did the right thing! Enjoy!
 13. Wow!! Andy, that's a great looking bass!! Hope you're well!
