I know someone in Holland wanting a RED BT/BH Rickenbacker (as I think I can see in your avatar) Spacey. So you will have money for Shaun's bass then. ;-)
You do'nt even need to swap the pickups to get a 4003 sound. The HB-1 (pickup) has 4 wires. Just connect 1 coil and you have a vintage 4001 sound. Diagrams are available on the internet to have a switch for dual/single coil, or even the tone knob to gradually adding the second coil.
Sorry Thunderbird but I have to keep these 2 4004's I have. ;-) One is a (converted) 5 stringer which is my main bass these days, the other is in BlueBurst which happens to be a colour I really love.
I posted this Basschat ad to a Dutch bassguitarist forum also. There was someone there looking for a Rick with a smaller (preferably Jazz-like) neck. How is this neck?
I love seeing and hearing you play a Rick Jaymi. Even gives me a GAS attack, but I have 2 AZG's allready. ;-) One of them being a '73 4001 with CB, etc..... the other a 4001S. I hope it sells well. Both my AZG's came from the states as well and where much more expensive.
I will get me a beer and some chips and take my position on the couch to watch this. ;-) (And yes, I'm proud to own 13 Rickenbacker's of which 10 are basses and 2 are bass amplifiers. ;-))

Until fairly recently RIC didn't have a trademark in the design in the UK - they've now registered the headstock.[/quote]
Interesting. Do you have any idea if they have these trademarks also in the rest of Europe?
