8. Its very much a performance thing for me, the session was very focused not just on the technical performance of the artist but on the delivery of the performance to an audience with presence and confidence (the group was a mix of dancers, actors, singers, and I was the only musician). I think the awareness of your own posture is important and the insight into things you may be doing which could inadvertently hold back your performance, and it really did bring the idea of the performer and the audience connecting and feeding off each other in mutually beneficial ways into a new perspective.
9. Anyone here had much experience with this? I did an all day session today that I really thought was quite incredible, allowed me to play complex passages with a presence and feel unlike I had before, and I saw and heard singers voices change dramatically with only a few minor posture adjustments. I need to know more!! Anyone else done any study of this method? Any experiences or insight to share?
10. And we all know, the only way to create a change in the world is to live the example you wish to set!!.. Me and my colleagues in this venture have already taken the first bold steps towards this lofty ambition, if you've read this much of the message then further details are unnecessary as you already know whether you're interested in the idea or not! My question for yourselves: Are you interested in joining in/collaborating/contributing to this venture? Then private message me here or find and message me on facebook and lets get started! 11. Cheers! Yea we didn't go for a 'traditional' Fusion vibe on there haha Billy Cobham is one of those drummer types that we have to put up with! Worked closely with Stanley Clarke and wrote some absolutely BELTING fusion tunes.
12. Its just gone live on our bandcamp page, and is available to listen to in full or even to purchase if you are so inclined! We really enjoyed playing these songs, so I hope you will enjoy listening to them Oh and yes, the name is a Billy Cobham homage.. obviously http://spectrumfusion.bandcamp.com https://www.facebook.com/spectrumfusion
13. Saw em in Liverpool earlier in the year, they're SPECTACULAR. Touring in the UK again in November
14. Hey everyone! I've played Fusion for quite a lot of years, but have never really played in a band that's interested in pushing ourselves properly. Now me and 3 other musicians have put together a group with the aim of getting out there in the world with it and having a go at building ourselves up. Now I've played a part in promoting a few bands now, but never one inside a Jazz/Fusion framework, so this post is really just to ask: "Does anyone here have any insight or advice on how to go about developing the profile of a Fusion style group?" Now I know there's not exactly a booming market for it, but its as much a learning and enjoying experience as anything else, so we're just going to put as much into it as we can and see where we can go with it. Any advice is warmly welcomed Here are a couple of links where you can see a little about us, listen to a couple of audio excerpts and even 'like' us for updates if you feel so inclined. http://spectrumfusion.bandcamp.com http://www.facebook.com/spectrumfusion Hope you enjoy what you hear, and hopefully I can learn a little which may help us in the future! Thanks, Oscar
15. Nice, been 'working' on a tapping arrangement for years myself. Oneday I might finish it
16. Couple of fusion tracks recorded live in the studio. I thought some interesting things happened in this performance. Enjoy! http://spectrumfusion.bandcamp.com Feedback is also welcome.
17. Still got both. The valve adds warmth more than anything, its not a distortion stage or anything but you can get a little grit out of it. I've made a few recordings with this head recently (just the head DI'd into the audio interface) so if anyone wants to hear how it sounds then drop me a message and I'll send you the links.
18. I posted us playing a take of this in rehearsal on this board a little while ago. Well now we've recorded the track 'Tango!' along with 3 other of our 'prototype' compositions for violin and electric bass. Here's the link: http://www.reverbnation.com/spectacularresurrectionmen Hope you enjoy the tracks and as its an experimental project I especially appreciate feedback. Oscar
19. I play and teach in all contemporary industry styles including but not exclusive to Jazz, Folk, Rock, Pop, Country, Traditional/Ethnic, Funk, Latin, Afro, Reggae and Fusion genres. I specialise in developing a strong balance between cultivating a sophisticated musical intuition and musicality whilst applying practical theoretical and technical concepts to playing. If desired I can also teach all contemporary 'Solo Electric Bass' techniques (such as Tapping, Chordal or Harmonic playing) popularised by bassists such as Victor Wooten and Jaco Pastorius. I can additionally provide Double Bass tuition as well as highly in-depth music theory study in Contemporary and Jazz contexts. All necessary equipment is provided and a right handed bass guitar can be available for introductory lessons. Free private parking is available at the location of teaching. Feel free to contact me with enquiries you may have in advance of beginning your studies. Oscar 07990782211 [email protected]
20. Yeah it has a DI out, I actually did some remote recording recently with its DI so I can send samples of its DI sound to anyone interested in hearing it. Just drop me a PM! Pictures added
21. Of all the times I've recorded, this one is a particular favourite. Especially love the bassline under the bridge. Enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vNiO-LtSn3A
