I've been looking at the ashdown little stubby for a home/studio amp. It seems a bit more flexible with the selectable character switch.
Has anyone here used or compared one?

Maybe it's about time to start to learn to read!
Moderator or not, I'm more than fed up by this total inability to understand what is really written and the way you like to patronise others!
And you are not alone on this parish: It looks to be quite standard!
Perhaps this once, it is not the many who are wrong.

Not that I should need to explain myself to you but I wanted easy access to the review.
Happy now??
Ecstatic
But wouldn't a short description be easier to search?

Why? Why bump a zombie thread while adding zero content?

A dark sound feels the same as a warm colour.

Only get tapewounds if you're after a plonky vintage type sound. They are BAD for livelier genres like punk/rock/metal.

Step 1 is setup: Saddle height, neck relief and pickup height. Start at or near factory standard, that should never sound bad.
Step 2: as others suggest find a bass amp near you, the low octaves will sound anaemic through a guitar cab.
Problem not solved? Let a bass player near you have a try on their rig, someone will identify the trouble, it's never too late to spend more money.
Now where are the pictures? 😄

How about a Neve RNDI box? Record the best clean tone you can, you can sort out the character on the pc in post production or re-amp through good borrowed or rented amps.

Rapide leathercreme, Urad is a reputable brand too. Wipe some on with your fingers, let sit for 5-10 minutes, wipe off with a rag (old t-shirt or like). The leather May look wet for a bit bit it'll absorb all the nourishment after a bit.

I've noticed this on my tuner (TC polytune mini) also
It'd make sense to have it start in tuning mode right?

Just for interest, why not B, E, A, D, G as a normal five is tuned?
A few spots in our songs can use that deep boom.

Looks great, happy NAD.
What a nice looking bass too. What is it?
Thanks!
I'll try to refine my post in the coming weeks as the 'new toy wow factor' wears off.
My guitarist built the bass for me:

Tuned AEADG with a Dr-strings DDT 55-5 set.

Picked up this beast from someone that switched to iems.
I've always played decent amps, starting with the Hartke 3500, SWR 350 and 750x (very very good, with a distinct sound) and Engl 2030 rackhead that I used more as a power amp for my Verellen meatsmoke preamp pedal.
The Aguilar is heavier (also in weight hah) thicker, deeper and much louder, while retaining all of the definition. It sits confidently in the mix without being abrasive, and you can follow each and every note with all subtlety (if any lol) even in a busy mix or in my case a hard hitting drummer and two metal guitarists with big tube amps.
I'm incredibly impressed by the build quality, it's an absolute tank.
Can't wait to get to know it through and through.

Won't make friends, I know
Or friends that accept that you tend to be wrong about certain things.
Production of new strings take account material, packaging and transport, way less environmentally friendly.
Still, this revival attempt is not for me, I've never had much luck with the homebrew cures.

I use the iRig hd 2, not sure if compatible with your software.

4 enough? Probably. I like using 5 more.

Hi guys, played bass in bands before but come from a guitarist background, currently in a reasonably established originals band. Played three gigs so far and managed on each occasion to borrow equipment or play through FOH. Very interested in the mark bass amps. I did pick up a mini combo amp from their range, but during rehearsal with a full PA set up, it just did not cut through the mix at all, and distorted whilst trying to push it. I’ve returned that now, I’ve done a bit more research, and think I’ve got my head around it. Looking at these on fb marketplace. Leaning towards amp and cab over combo, Would these be a suitable pairing, for medium gigs, rehearsal etc. and have enough headroom. Love the tone of markbass, just wondering whether this pairing would match.
Technically there shouldn't be any trouble matching these but I do notice two things:
The Amp is pictured on a workbench. Doesn't have to mean anything but could be that the seller has tinkered with it.
The settings on the amp are a recipe for low definition low end drone with both VLE and VPF at noon with the bass cranked. Furthermore it's going to disappoint in power with the gain set that low. Set it to where the Clip light just comes on when playing the loudest notes, then roll it back a tiny bit.
Maybe add a dollie (plank on wheels) for that cab like it's sitting on in the pic, if it's not sold with that included

Consensus on where the In/Out/Power/Other sockets go on all equipment. All of it!
Left to right or right to left, at the front or back or one side I don't care, just standardise it!

Actually, as a side note to this (and as a drummer myself), the drum forums that are out there are not very active compared to the bass ones. I put this down to the fact that drummers are too busy practicing and improving their art rather than talking about it. Which reminds me, I should go and practice!
Hmm maybe I just prefer drummers who can't read but do have a sense of humour.
Apologies for the derailment!

It doesn't matter what anyone calls it when it's adding gain and causing soundguy's head to explode.
Drive is not Gain. Just like Gain is not Volume. The names are different because the operation is different.
