  1. I generally play fingerstyle these days but also play pick, especially in rockier bands (eg cowpunk band) - and in those circumstances prefer a lighter gauge pick (I can play much faster due to less resistance). If its the bite and attack you prefer of the heavier gauge pick, maybe play around with your EQ and pedals? A tad more overdrive, use a compressor to alter the sound shape slightly, that sort of thing. Bet you can come close
  2. Thats a heck of a lot of bass for the money! GLWTS
  3. Bought some La Bella strings from Chris. Super friendly comms and fast delivery. Couldn't be faulted. Cheers!
  4. SOLD pending payment
  5. If anyone was interested in the G&L Fallout (as bigged up by Ed Friedland), they are £450 off in the sale at Anderton's in both colour schemes (racing yellow and miami blue) https://www.andertons.co.uk/bass-dept/bass-guitars/modern-bass-guitars/g-l-usa-fallout-short-scale-bass-racing-yellow
  6. Thanks Karl - looking at prices for other amps on this forum, I am lowering to £299 plus post
  7. I bought this in March on BC from the splendid Paul S (advert linked below) but have come to the realisation that, in the event I finally begin gigging again (I hope), my Handbox R-400 covers my electric needs and my Acoustic Image Clarus covers my upright needs. So this lovely amp is Billy No Mates. Home use only since I bought it (hence identical nick to Paul's pics) and comes with padded Tecamp carry bag. Asking £320 collected from the marooned island of Barnes in SW London or add post via UPS Standard delivery (roughly £15 but would agree quote first). No trades as I am rationalising my excessive gear (already sold 4 basses in past 2 months)
  8. Based on the above, the OP's Jazz bass is definitely an accurate representation of LPB and the Mustang looks like the more modern Ice Blue
  9. Indeed. See here https://www.hagley.org/librarynews/published-collections-dupont-colors-fender-guitars
  10. Calling @bassadder
  11. Reckon I could actually play the bass for that
  12. Sold Jack a job lot of fx pedals and - like the previous 748 deals - all was good!
  13. Barnes is now officially an island Republic. Post is now about the only viable option for anyone north of the Thames sadly
  14. Johna bought a lovely fretless from me. Fantastic comms and superfast payment. Could'nt be better!!!! Enjoy
  15. Love this band - they recreate the '70s Berlin sound of Tangerine Dream with a bit of Kraftwerk thrown in
  16. @molan this looks right up your street. Fabulous bass!
  17. By Grabthar's hammer ...
  18. Giving up on pedalboard, too many things for me to worry about! T-Rex Fuel Tank - power supply, very good condition plus all leads etc (cost me £79 new) Smoking' Amp Co Ginger Overdrive (modelled on Ampeg fliptop) - literally brand new (cost me £100 plus import), arrived from US this week Korg Pitchblack tuner - good, used condition (cost me £58 new) Rothwell Love Squeeze compressor - good, used condition (cost me £75 s/h) EHX Bass Clone chorus - used, good condition (cost me £67 new) Radial Stagebug passive bass DI - brand new, unopened in box (cost me £69) All come with velcro on rear, except unopened Stagebug bass DI. To acquire these pedals individually (even allowing for second hand status), would probably set you back around £300 - take this off my hands for £240 posted in UK. Really CBA selling individually, so looking to sell the lot and you can then sell on what you don't want/need and end up quids in. NB, am keeping Pedaltrain Nano as the padded bag may come in useful at some point for bass gear - but if this is a dealbreaker, I will throw this in for another £25 on top.
  19. Its a lovely bass although it feels quite 'new' still - my old '71 Mustang was much more 'comfy' and worn-in for want of a better phrase
