Absolutely beautiful bass, and I share your pain in realising that a 9lb bass, however much I love it otherwise, is not good for my back / neck / shoulders. GLWTS

Thank you. PS, I think you will love your newly acquired MIJ Mustang - skinny J neck, quality build and under 8 pounds. What's not to like?

What would the shipping cost from Italy would there be customs duty to  pay?

Sorry to say that, as a result of Brexit, any goods purchased from EU and imported into UK will incur UK VAT and potentially customs handling charges, which amount to a little over 20% of the declared value.

  3. I bought this beauty on the forum a couple of weeks ago, thinking I could cope with a c.9 pounds bass (8.95 to be precise, or 4.08kg). Unfortunately, my rubbish neck and back quickly told me otherwise (I blame the horse accident last year and the 18 fractures to my ribcage, collarbone and breast bone). My other basses are generally sub-8 pounds for a reason.

In excellent, near flawless condition, with CS pickups and OHSC, and wearing a brand new set of D'Addario 45-100 nickel rounds. Collection from SW13 London preferred as I don't currently have a box. If postage is needed, I would need a few days to source the box.

£1025 collected or £1050 posted UK (which is what I paid, before adding new strings). Sorry, no trades.

Here is the BC ad from the previous seller

  4. Super loud (800w at 8ohm), silver cloth version, light (26 pounds) and in generally good condition (some minor scuffs to textured finish on edges, nothing egregious). Comes with brand new fitted, padded cover.

£550 collected from SW13 London (Barnes, south of closed-to-traffic Hammersmith Bridge) as I don't have a box large enough.  I will also throw in the Auralex Gramma sound damping/isolation pad its sitting on (these are an eye-watering £95 new at Bax Music).

No trades unless for a good condition Barefaced Super Mini/Super Midget.

Interesting. Not bad for fixed neck as well. I wonder if they vary but a friend said his was over 4.5kg and he had heard of heavier.

Having done a lot of research into this (due to my neck and back issues), walnut bodied Rick 4003S models are generally below 9 pounds and often around 8.5 (c 3.5kg). The traditional jetglo/fireglo etc 4003S and 4003 are maple bodied and almost always between 9-10 pounds (4.1-4.5 kg)

  6. For those who posted unsmiley responses to my suggestions re: Don't look back in Anger and Everybody needs somebody, its maybe not the song so much as their amazing power to cause a headlong rush to the dance floor from lagered-up lads (who normally prefer to booze rather than dance), knocking everyone aside, leaving a trail of death and destruction and lots of bro-hugging.

likewise the fake reggae singing on any later UB40 is simply painful - and this was the band who early on did the fabulous “King” and “Food for thought”.

Wow, that is so aligned with my view, Their first album 'Signing Off' was, in my view, stupendous ( several fab songs eg Tyler, King etc) but they quickly dissolved into utterly dreadful, commercial (as another BCer described it) cod reggae
