Now why is that Warwick so absurd?

Very cheap but the size of a house and two separate channels? Weird.

So why is the trickfish so expensive if it's the same power amp?

And the Glock is definitely on my list but mad expensive if there is something cheaper that will do the job.

Plus I really want to have a listen to the options before buying but where to go? I am in Brighton and GAK's bass department is laughable...

Any suggestions of shop s in London which stick a decent selection of amps to have a try on.

Damn it, I've had no amp GAS for the 10 years I've had the sa450 and still don't now, I just need a reasonably priced great sounding amp that won't break my back, that I can try before I buy.

    Badlands Guitars?

I loved the neck on my Stingray. Felt just beautiful. Unfortunately I was always changing my right hand position away from what feels natural to me to avoid the pick up. It felt sharp and scratchy when my finger tips touched it.

The real reason I was happy to pass it on was the sound which just wasn't for me. I tried all the obvious things to tame it including stringing with flats, but it was always too lively and zingy for me.

It ended up as my audition bass. I took it along to show prospective bands that I had decent gear would you believe? So insecure was I.

Anyway I have since come to realise that it isn't Stingrays I can't enjoy, it is simply active basses. I've sold or am selling them all. I hope those of you who love them can forgive me for not sharing your taste and I wish you nothing but joy with your chosen instrument.

Hunt out a passive USA SUB - no disernable difference in tone from an active version but far more user-freindly as regards controling its "zingyness"

That's an absolute nightmare. I've a house move expected for 2019,many basses won't be coming with me 😞

I'll give you a couple of months to get over your disappointment before asking if your interest is rekindled.

Have you had a chance to play yours at gig volume and if so, how do find it cuts through in a live setting?

  4. Been waiting since September for a new batch of RBPX basses with the correct necks fitted. Find out today that thay have now arrived - all with the jazz width necks wrongly fitted AGAIN!!! Ive given up and have had a refund!!!

  5. Play indie anthems with some brit-pop and a few 60s/70s oddities thrown in. Have had DR Sunbeams on the active and if anything, they are slightly overpowering, especially on the E  - have had to cut the bass eq from 75% to 50% on occasions. Will try the flats on it and the Drs on the passive to see how that sounds. Thanks.
