I always use a compressor with parallel options, where I sum an uncompressed signal with a "heavily squished" to get airyness, dynamics and attack as well as a full bodied tone.

Hello bass brethren and sisters, I use the Neural DSP Quad Cortex and feel a bit lonely on the Quad Cortex Cloud. If there are other QC users out there with some goodies to share, or want to find some nice presets and/or captures, well, we have to add/befriend each other on the QC Cloud to be able to share. My user name there is RogerHedinBass, be welcome to follow me. I got some - not too many - captures and presets I've made. I've captured Monique, Spartan and Magellan... Some presets use other people's captures too... Roger and out!

Please, follow me on the QC cloud, Dood. Then we can share stuff. Other users too!

I got mine last week, have used it on rehearsal so far. I've been tweaking tones and made some captures so far. RogerHedinBass is my user name on the QC cloud. I made captures of my Monique and Spartan, also my Magellan 350. As far as I can hear, the captures are spot on. It also feels the same playing through the QC as through the "real stuff"...

I've ordered one, but it seems I have to wait a month more or so to get it delivered. My friend Erik is a user since last winter... https://www.youtube.com/c/erikarko I got tired of not being able to use my rig at the local clubs, since "you have to turn down the bass on stage so I can get a decent sound in the PA". I decided to go gigging without a lot of luggage to tote around. Bass(es) and a good direct signal and then use the stage monitors until I puke on them.

Well, I sold this gem too... My back hated it. But it was a d*mn good amp! I realize that big bulky heavy rigs belong to the past. At least for me. My last gig I used two rigs, my Monique/Spartan into Genzler 210 and 115 cabs for electric, and my Genzler 350 with two 110 cabs for my upright. I wasn't allowed to turn the amps up so I could hear myself through my own speakers. My bass was in all monitors on stage. After that gig I decided I'll never ever bring my rigs to that stage anymore. Only pedals and Monique. I have ordered a Quad Cortex too, so maybe I only use that one for electric and upright. Btw, I have sold the big Genzler cabs too, but kept my 112's...

I have revised my order for my new five string; it won't be "natural wooden coloured", but a Swedish take on British Racing Green, with some metallic flavour... No creme coloured stripes, though... (I'll try to make some sound clips too with the Orange Wonder when I have the time.. )

Possible trade/part trade: a nice 5 string bass with wide spacing, or a nice non back breaking 70's Fender Precision with rosewood board, or a 60's reissue Fender Precision... Here are the spec's from the Instrument Certificate: - Set neck, super long scale (=35") - Mahogany body, eye poplar top - Wenge fingerboard - Black binding, Luminlay side dots - Delano SBC6 HE/S pickup set - ETS bridge (19 mm spacing), ETS knobs and Hipshot tuners - Three tone sunburst, matching headstock More pic's to come. Stay tuned! To order the exact bass today would cost 3160€ equivalent to £2639, so I correct the price a bit. £2200 plus shipping!

I've used the bass on two rehearsals, and will do the first gig on Wednesday. It truly is a well sounding bass. It has the same "heft" to the tone as my old Yamaha JP2 when using the bridge pickup. It has the three band Darkglass Tone Capsule with bass, low mid and high mid - no treble. Still it works very well. The bass looks really big, but is in fact rather natty. I like it.

This gem moved in today; I bought it from a friend... Mensinger Joker B6, 35" and 3/4" (19 mm) spacing...

I will. The Aggie is just 200 W RMS, so it is my smallest amp coming to wattage. Still, it pushes the cabinets to move some serious air. I will try it with the band at the rehearsal tomorrow.

N.A.D. Aguilar... Double post! Please delete!

Ooooops! Double post! Please, delete one. -
My plan was to get a Bergantino Forté HP or a Quad Cortex as my third amp. I have a Genzler Magellan 350, a Vanderkley Spartan and a Jule Amps Monique preamp with a GSS Sumo power amp already. Ooops! Did that make three...? Well, I was out shopping for a fourth amp - not a third. All of a sudden I got the chance to get a super nice Aguilar DB 359 at a more than reasonable price, so I changed my mind. No DSP amp for me! No programmable stuff! Just plain analog old school stuff. I was a bit concerned how the Aggie would work with the Genzler Bass Array cabs; my old Super Bassman and the Bassman 100T sounded crap through them. No problems with this baby brute! Wooly, fat, juicy! The DB 359 is a BIG amp. Really big! But - it sits well on top of the Bass Array 12-3 SLT cabs: no risk sliding off the top cab. A tiny bit of T-factor can be seen... I kind of like it...

FS. Bergantino Forte HP Bundle SOLD
bassmayhem replied to GarfyBass's topic in Amps and Cabs For Sale
I am about to buy a new one, since this beauty is on the wrong side of the Brexit fence. VAT and customs would make this one equally priced as a new one for me. Pity! At first, I was a bit sceptic to a DSP driven amp, but after hearing people use it I have changed my mind. I am no pedal guy, even if I have a heap of them; this amp contains two out of three I normally use: compressor and the drive section. Makes things a lot easier. To the seller: Good luck with the sale! -
