1. Hi Y'all, We're looking for a bass player to complete the line-up of our band, playing rock/metal cover and looking to get gigging fairly quickly but also with a view to writing our own material n the future, current set includes songs by Guns n Roses, Skid Row, Iron Maiden, Thin Lizzy, Love/Hate, Kiss, The Wildhearts, WASP etc. Cheers Chris
 2. I so want this - unfortunately I've exhausted all guitar funds for the forseeable future Bump for a fantastic guitar!
 3.
Apologies in advance for this comment: That, IMO, is the most hideous colour my eyes have ever had the misfortune to be subjected to. Best of luck with the sale though!
I actually quite like it then again my current project is a hot pink 80's superstrat the I'm restoring to it's former glory - so I don't know if my taste in guitars is to be trusted If I had a bass to trade I'd probably be making you an offer!
 4. Just got a new camera so thought I'd put some better quality pics up:
 5.
That's a common problem with the late 70s SG 1000/2000s - the hardware tends to get really pitted too.
apparently it's caused by gasses released by the pickguard if they're left in the case for too long - the hardware on mine is pretty mint though! there's a little bit of wear from palm muting on the bridge, but no tarnishing or pitting at all. I'm not too keen on the knobs either, but I'm keeping it as original as possible so they'll stay - only thing I'll be changing any time soon is the nut as the one that's on there is pretty shagged - my G string keeps getting all caught up!!
 6.
Good luck with the beast my friend, they are very cool guitars. Though they weigh a great deal more than they should.
thanks man - weighs less than the stingray I just sold though!
 7.
Nice, I had a '76 SG1000 a few years back, but had to trade it in for an amp after my hiwatt exploded mid-gig. Bad deal, but I was in a hurry, swapped the Yamy and my Hiwatt 4x12 for an Ashdown Electric blue 150. Was the old british made ones, but was still only £350, and that Hiwatt was vintage as well.... doh!
Someone made a tidy bit of profit on that one then!! They are awesome guitars - I was torn between getting this and holding out for an SG2000, but tbh I quite like the more Gibson like vibe of the set neck on the SG1000. I guess it would be nice to have the brass sustain plate that the 1500 models upwards have. The only real issue the guitar has is a fair amount of laquer fogging on the rear and a bit around the top (fortunately just on the dark bits of the burst so you can't really see it unless the light hits it just right) but tbh Iquite like that because it's a bit of a reminder that it's a 30 year old guitar - if it wasn't there you wouldn't be able to tell!!
 8. This is my new baby - a 1980 Yamaha SG1000 (same age as me!!!). I am so chuffed with this guitar - just set it up to my liking and it plays amazingly and sounds sooo good . Also in the pics is my Laney VC50 which I just picked up for a really good price and my pedalboard (which is a bit of a work in progress at the moment). Sorry for the quality of the pics but I'm without a decent camera at the monent.

 14.
Im not sure, the serial number is FC0600912 if thats any help? Is there a way to tell otherwise?
If the serial number starts with an "F" then it is made in Korea.
 15. Will bought my 'Ray - great guy to deal with and even drove to bracknell to pick it up so I didn't have to go too far out of my way.
 16. I really like the look of this http://kent.gumtree.com/kent/33/58453133.html - what do you guys reckon? Worth the money?
 17.
What about something like this... I have a Washbirn Idol similar to this but its a solid black coloured body and the maple neck has got ebony inlays.
What model exactly?
 18.
What sort of guitar are you looking for ?
Ideally something les paulish but I'm fairly open to suggestions!
 19. I'm selling my ABM combo to fund some other purchases - it's a cracking amp and one of the last made in this country before production went to China. It's in pretty much perfect nick with just a few small marks in the covering (and you have to look quite hard to find these) - The EQ on it is super useful and don't beleive what people say about these amps, It can go from nice and clean to real vintage type tones - no wool in sight!! I can't upload any pics at the moment as the amps stored at the in-laws house - but I'll try and get some uploaded later (although to be honest they all look the same ) . Pricewise I think £425 would be fair - not really after trades (except for maybe a decent valve guitar amp) as a cheeky bonus I'll even throw in a 15" extension cab. it's a home made cab and isn't that pretty to look at - but the speaker is decent and sounds good. It certainly compliments the combo and lets you get the full 575 watts out of it. Although to be honest this amp doesn't really need it - it is plenty loud!! I would prefer collection only, especially with the extension cab - although I suppose I could deliver within a reasonable distance of Reading/Oxford for the cost of petrol.
 20. Yes it's still for sale/trade - I've had a load of trade offers but nothing that's really taken my fancy.
