  1. I need to see if my buddy is prepared to run off a batch and how much they'd cost. So far he's done these two at mates rates but his printers run pretty much 24x7 so I'd have to order and pay for a few and it would only be fair to pay him the proper rate. I'm also not sure how big the market is for them - but it might be worth getting a dozen or so and seeing....
  2. That's a very pretty bass. I've been looking at those as I'm thinking of adding a short scale to the stable.... And a nice, neat solution to the rest problem.
  3. Pictures of the Mark II version - very pleased with this one. All I have to do now is finish soldering the ground connections and screening the electrics as I managed to introduce a loverly hum when i took the pickguard off....
  4. Yeah? Speak for your self! I’m not a balding fa....... oh, hang on. As you were
  5. A valid point and one that we tend to forget. There is much wrong with the BBC these days and they could (in my opinion) have done more with this series - but these programs were so much better than a lot of the awful stuff that passes for documentary and pollutes the airwaves these days. I enjoyed all three programs. Yes, there was a lot of stuff I thought they missed out and, yes, they spent more time than was necessary on other stuff - I got the distinct impression that much of the content was dictated by budget; the cost of concert footage and interviewees and the savings to be had from reusing material where possible across all three programs. But it was a decent set of programs with some interesting material and a broad appeal that extended beyond those of us who play to include the wider listening public and for that I think the BBC should be given due credit. Other opinions are, as always, available and valid....
  6. You beat me to it 😀😀
  7. Well we have to get it out of our systems somehow....
  8. Oh cr@p, that looks really nice. I thought I'd got over my GAS
  9. I had the Gibson SG bass and loved the sound it made. If the Epi is half as good it’d be great. Gretchen do one as well which is pretty cheap and might be worth a punt, especially second hand. As an aside, a friend of mine had vibration white finger (which I think is what you’re describing) and had it sorted with carpal tunnel surgery. Is this an option for you?
  10. Well that puts "Shut Up" in its place.....
  11. We have a winner then. Assuming that you can post all nine of your new songs on here for us to listen to?
  12. So “Shut Up” is ahead at this early stage with “Only You” a close (or distant) second (or not, as the case may be). Six seems hard to beat....
  13. I'd forgotten about Huey Lewis. That's another of the beggars....
  14. S'pose we all need a hobby. I'm guessing there wasn't a fight for custody?
  15. Only if they gave Andy Summers appearance fee to Sting....
  16. Completely different songs as in Doctor, Doctor by the Thompson Twins and the different song of the same name by UFO. Not to be confused with the different song by Robert Palmer with a different name but the words "Doctor, doctor" featured prominently in the chorus.
  17. I guess it's actually "different songs with the same name where you start to play one version and the rest of the band are playing the other, especially where you don't realise until the chorus." A thread with quite limited appeal I'd suggest, but one to which I could certainly contribute...
  18. There's a confusing number of songs with the same name. Power of Love. Doctor, Doctor being just two. I have an unerring ability to learn the wrong one
  19. Wow. Multiply by quite a few customers and that's a lot of unnecessary recycling. Do Argos still print millions of catalogues? And i see that Yellow Pages has finally stopped printing a real book. Looks like CPC are trying to take up the slack all on their own
  20. I always loved the fact that when Alex left they became The Sensational Alex Harvey Band (Without Alex). I spent a lot of time in and around Glasgow in the Seventies and was introduced to the SAHB then. I guess I'm at an age where many of my childhood heroes are dying off. Time to dig out some old vinyl and reminisce with old friends and a wee dram tonight, I think
  21. Cant help thinking there's a sitcom somewhere in these and the audition stories....
  22. I learnt that the one thing you don’t have a spare of is the thing that will break so carry two of everything
  23. I used to have a real block with the solo in that song. Could play it perfectly at home or in rehearsal, always made a complete Horlicks of it at a gig. I've finally got past that now but i still shudder at the memory of the car crashes
