1. thats exactly what I wanted to see. Thanks for that. Did it detract the yellowish tint away from the bass? That original white PG really shows it as yellow.
2. Does anyone have a pic of their vintage white MD bass with a black scratchplate on it?
3. funny you should ask. I am feeling I am losing a bit of volume and sustain from the D and G string. Does anyone know why this may be. For instance when im playing baba oreily....I just dont feel the notes ring out long enough or at least with a consistncy as the E or A strings do.
4. mine has worked fine with just the guitar stuff for a year or so.
5. RIP the Jag Hope I love this Mike Dirnt sig bass as much. It feels right and plays really well with the setup the fella had already done on it. Aint had a chance to run it through my orange rig yet. However I managed a few minutes using it via my irig setup and it sounds pretty good but my main suprise is that tone pot!!!!!!!! my god that thing WORKS...The jags tone pot was for cosmetic purposes only in comparison.
6.
PM Johnston... http://basschat.co.u.../8911-johnston/ He's got a Vintage White one, seems like a nice bloke to me, should be able to help.
Your assumptions were bang on. Johnston got a pic to me and his views within minutes.
7. does anyne know if the vintage white colour scheme on these basses are yellow? The fender website shows it off white (cream) but any pics I have seen show it as yellow!!!
8. Cheers Tom, its a long drive to Darlington to pick it up....But im sure it will be worth it.
9.
Arriving in time for Moffat?
It sure is Matt,,,,im picking it up from Darlington on Sunday.
10. yeah but I wasnt buying, I was swapping. Plus im not a fan of the black one.
11. on hold with a possible swap for a Fender Mike Dirnt sig bass.
12. I am kinda sorry to see the jag go Gerry. But I know its time to move on and try something else due to my Ric being the only bass I use. Every comment I have heard is uber positive so at least I know im getting a decent bass. Plus its my ideal colour scheme too which is a massive bonus.
13.
I got one in the sales just before Xmas - the workmanship is fantastic (not far off my USA deluxe) and the rosewood board is particularly nicely figured. Yeah, it's quite heavy and the neck is a bit like half a baseball bat, but it somehow feels very 'right' for the instrument. The only bad thing about mine was the almost unplayable factory setup (sufficient to keep it on the wall at DV for long enough to land it in a clearance sale) but half an hour of tweaking and a pack of new strings got that ironed out. The pickup height took a couple of band rehearsals to get right and has ended up a little more radically angled than on my other P's, but not so as it's in the way. Looks great, feels great, plays great, sounds great... I say do it!
I honestly cant wait for it now.
14.
They are really good basses, as already said they do have a wide range of tone. I think the only downside is the weight. But I can't fault mine! At one point I did own 3 of them!
Thankfully I am a big lad and I like heavy....So all is still looking great.
15.
Can I afford it and is it a different colour than vintage white? If the answer to the above is a yes they are crap but you may pass the details onto me mines lonely. If the Answer to any of the above is no . I think mines bloomin' fantastic.
hahaha thanks for that,,,the answer is no if that helps
16.
Really nice basses. Heavy though, and a chunky thick neck on them. Fab pickups (custom shop '59) which do everything from trebly Green Day punk, to pretty good fat Motown sounds. One of the (many!) basses I regret selling. Mark.
oh I love this reply,,,,,,,,Thanks for that Mark.
so I give you 50p and you give me a bass?
not so much this one though
17. Hola chaps,,, Ok so I am swapping out my Fender Jag for a Fender Mike Dirnt sig bass. I have been playing alot of P-basses recently and loving it.. Can anyone give me their 50p on these basses. Cheers Steven
18.
You sure you want an EB/SG? If you're still looking in a couple of weeks then you'll get the chance to road test four Gibsons To be discussed. Beer helps...
Cheers Matt, just remember first one into the cottage has to get the kettle on.
19. I run the OBT along with the SP212. Im not sure how this would compare to the sp210 but I know that in a 5 piece rock n roll band I have plenty of headroom. I play this setup with my Ric 4003 and There is an amazing amount of bass being delivered, but also very articulate at the same time. I am the same as Wayne and have went through so many amps (wven in my short time of playing) however I am 100% sold on the Orange rig. Its small, it sounds amazing, its loud and it looks great.
20. Do these basses have decals on them?
21. Still looking for a nice Fender 51r, Mike Dirnt sig bass or a Gibson SG, EB-*
