I'll probably take the car of meet up with someone or see what happens. Its a nice, easy drive down with some nice scenery and I'm partial to a curry.
yeah ive a decent sized motor, im sure i have room for a little one, I dont suppose your a hot little 17 year old female Alex????? -
I've worked with Scots nearly all my life and always found them to be favourable to a bit of travelling. Obviously some of you 'Central Belt' bass playing types might prove the exception Calling a Borderer English is dangerous ground, they think of themselves as more on the 'front line' than those REMF's tucked further North. Peter
Its not really too bad getting to moffat. The drive there is much more fun than the return trip. Seeing my last 2 transactions have taken place in Carlisle, I dont feel Moffat is in anyway a great distance, 90mins in a car is nothing seeing I drive for a living. I know my Scottish brothers on the East coast have a hell of a journey though. But im sure we can all agree its worth it. -
Most guys work Monday to Friday. That leaves Saturday to get to Moffat and go out for the curry then Sunday for the bash. Saturday would make that all more awkward.
Nice one Alan, I know how much effort it must be for you and Dave to setup and of course folk letting you down must be a put off. So just to say thank you for doing this. I managed to make the last bash and it was brilliant. Even though I didnt know anyone and came myself, it wasnt long before we are all pals and having a laugh. So hope that sways it for any newbies who may be a tad shy. I have taken the liberty of asking the wife if I am ok to step away from family life for the weekend and thankfully she said yes. So I am up for it matey when its confirmed. -
Had a listen to this the other day with Andy's V4... fabulous cab ... but... Sk8 is unfortunately right... with a big tube head this is an absolutely killer combination and if you hear this you are DOOOOMMMMEED.. luckily you're doomed to the bass sound from hell.... buy now... stop in front of the wife... tilt your chin forward and say... bought an Ampeg 810... take your best shot!!!
im pretty sure my wife would reenact the scene of lord of the rings Gandal and the Balrog 'YOU SHALL NOT PASS'
I have had this for just over a year, its spectacular and only, I repeat only, has a financial crisis forced this sale. It has sat in my practice room from new and has never been gigged - not a single mark on it! Looking for £600 straight sale. I'll get pics up soon as. cheers for looking andy
What a bargain,,,,, Any lower mate you may aswell just give it away. I wish I could justify this purchase mate, but due to lack of gigging and possible lack of trasnport size its just outside my means I have bought from Andy before folks and I can safely say that he keeps his gear in absolute mint condition. On top of that he is an absolute gent to deal with. All the best with the sale matey.
So it's official, now the guy's been more truthful about his thread, you're deciding to have a go at me instead. I was talking generally about the thread, simply questioning some of the comments made towards a newbie (who may not be as knowledgeable about forums, sales on forums or even bass guitars as some of us) and I did so with respect for all concerned. By doing so however, I've attracted your attention and a couple of times now you've decided to try and have a dig at me, which has now resulted in name calling. If I hadn't made my point intially, you've helped me make it now. If you want to take this argument elsewhere then we can do that.
no it's your high and mighty attitude that's annoying, I'm just as diplomatic as others on this site.. You have a pm. However, you have a pm.

do you think these artists really believe in the product or is it all about the endorsement and what they get out of it rather than getting what they want and sound they desire??????????
Nope...unfortunately not. Speaking of Bongos...I really want a 5HH in an unusual colour....
sorry gareth but your not allowed anymore MM gear, due to your recent buying frenzy, you have left a global shortage hahahaha. However did you see that natural mahogany bongo??? LUSH. I know it's not an unusal colour, but it is unusal for a bongo
MB1. " And Tonight Mathew! I'm Going to be Mr Indecisive!...I think? " BUMP!
a knew you couldnt resist ya character ye!!!!!!!!! In my defence Martin its ideally the Bongo 4HS stealth im after. The stealth was the first one I seen and the first one I really wanted. Its Bongo all the way with me now matey. Its purely the colour change im after to be 100% happy. However im currently trying to source a different scratchplate at present, so if I get that, it may cure my stelath lust.
Been a bit rough on the guy here, don't you think? I mean, eventually he's given the receipts to prove where the parts came from, although he could have been accurate from the very start and possibly saved himself a lot of trouble, but having sold things on a whim before I understand the half-assed approached to selling..... only once people start asking questions do you start digging receipts and stuff out to find out yourself. Some people are more organised than others I guess. Reading through this thread though I was a bit taken a back by some of the comments, especially here on BC. Seemed more like the Ernie Ball forum at times. Good luck, I hope someone tries the bass and loves it.
why don't you give it a bash and give us all a review
What's wrong with keeping the 4's groove going through any solos? If the number sags when the solos start then you're not playing the groove right! All other instruments, except bass and drums, should be able to stop and the "feel" should carry on regardless.
it sounds good the way i do it.
