SOLD!

I think I've seen a monorail d-tuner thingy somewhere. When I get home I'll google it properly on my 'puter; my phone is rubbish for things like that :-( Email sent to Status. I need to change to drop D very quickly between songs (medleys) so it's a "must have" for me.

SOLD!

Can you get x-tender D-tuners for these?
3.
Roundwound strings are the most commonly used strings for bass, and 45-105 (or thereabouts) is a good starting point. If budget is an issue the Legacy strings are supposed to be decent - http://www.stringsdi...s_guitar/legacy
Legacy are Rotosound Rotobass repackaged. Very good value for money at £7.95 a set.
4. Try one of the Yamaha BB424s currently in the for sale forum. They're both stonking and around half what they cost new. Very versatile, top build quality, great workhorses. Also, buying used from Basschat can't be beat.

SOLD!

What's the neck profile like on these?
6. 23 mins in and I'm surprised it's still here at this price. All those people who have ever asked about what bass they should buy for a beginner or a bass under £300 should be fighting each other for this. It's gorgeous.
7. The SR1300 Custom Shop I sold recently is amazing. Saying that it was seriously modified. Neck just a bit too slim for me though.
8. Seafoam green is my favourite colour (I don't own one), I love Precisions (I don't own one), I love black blocks on maple (don't own one), I love the P/J config too but this just doesn't work for me. I'm guessing that it's MIM?
9.
Best way to find out is play one and decide whether it's worth the extra. I have a 2024x and it is a truly wonderful instrument
^ this
10. It's probably worth putting the amp and cab in the Amps & Cabs For Sale forum.
11. It reminds me of the failed Ripley clones from Alien: Resurrection I won't post the picture.
12.
WANTED: MODULUS Flea 4 or Funk Unlimited 4 Flake Finish & one of them BB things with the maple.
Here's my response: If I'd have had the maple board it would have made my tattoo very difficult. See below... Rosewood is much easier to ink
13. Since seeing this post I've booked myself in for some counselling... If we had Talkbass style clubs on this forum, GK would have to start his own. I've had to recalibrate my Kudosometer. Seriously. Really. "Yamaha BB Achievement of the Year 2012". He's outdone me with 'bikes and basses but I think I still have the edge with tattoos Luv ya, Pete!
14.
He's spelled his name correctly.
Yes, I know. I know full well. I was inferring that the vast majority of folk spell Squier incorrectly I must remember that dry wit is sometimes better heard than read
15.
Do you think we should start a club? you can be number 1 & I'l be.........................
Maybe we could start a whole new bass players' forum and have clubs for just about anything and I could spell my screen name Seano-XIV... ...or has it been done already?
16.
Did you have to wear tights on your head and sound menacing to get it for that price...
He had to go and collect it and also he wasn't bidding against one of those nutters that collects BBs Very nice bass indeed. It was my lack of opportunity to fulfill the collection only that put me off. What're the pickups like?
17. I'll bet a smidge under £190?
18. I love the Beach Boys. Great stuff. It's amazing how much all those harmonies fill out the sound. About the screaming audience though...
19.
The other band members christened it "Spandau"...
Why? Because they wanted to escape from it?

Texas Jazz?

That paint job is vile. The tuners look like pawnshop guitar tuners. It's just wrong.
21. Return of a very versatile bit of kit...
22.
wow, that orange is exactly what I was looking for, but I only found red and black when I was buying (bought red). I'm also looking for a four string, now that HAS to be orange or vintage white Cool review (and pics), thanks for that and for another bridge replacement idea
What about this 424? Bargain.
23. Interesting review. Thanks for the insight.
I plan on getting a Hipshot bridge and a brass nut for my 415, it will probably cost me 100 squids (which is more than I paid for the bass itself ) and get a similar result...
I put a Gotoh-alike on my 415 that cost me £20 from eBay, it's great quality, I was really surprised and other than the lack of a Gotoh brand there is no difference. It made the B string a lot better. Full review with pictures of my 415 here
24. I've got it, it's a bit longer on disc, about 20 minutes I think, no idea why they crop it for BBC4. Watched it loads. Really disappointed I didn't get to see it in the cinema. Jeff's a great player, plays for the song every time. I'm all booked up to see PJ 8 times this year so I'll clear off now before I start to bore people senseless with a band most folk haven't heard about since the 90s
