  1. Hi All Bought this Sire U5 to try out short scale , but after 30odd years playing 34” scale length I’m struggling to get used to it . Its a shame as it sounds great and once again the Sire pups are fantastic , I own a Sire 5 string as well and they are really are amazing for the money . Bought new from Bax for £399 with a gig bag deal £19.99 Selling for £320.00 so save £100 on a brand new bass with new short scale gig bag . £320 plus uk shipping only / or socially distanced collection in Edinburgh Thanks John
  2. B string is great .. I’ve had a couple of 35” and there’s no difference to my ear , except 35 is too long for me .. J
  3. It’s my first ever shortscale and I’ve been playing 30odd years .. just curious .. will see how I like it .. it sounds great for a passive .. first impressions are good

  6. Put chrome knobs on mine ,I had off a J.East pre knocking around ..much better than the original ones.
  7. I picked up the same bass on eBay recently , and for the price it’s fantastic . I have had quite a few high end basses in my time , but as for the sound it’s as good as anything I've owned .Already on the lookout for a 4 string version as well ...John

  22. Thanks I love the colour combo , tried P basses twice in 30 years of playing . I have a 78 Jazz and I love the neck , so p basses are just a bit chunky for me.
