  1. Yes, they are absolutely insane basses for the price. They sound huge and prove that you don't need a chunky neck and boat anchor body to get a big tone.
  2. withdrawn
  3. Yup, Bass Gallery is the place. Denmark st is doomed, despite Wunjo doing their best to create a shopping atmosphere that wasn't repellent. I'll miss it though - I spent a lot of time lurking in andy's in the 90s...
  4. And a bump and a crafty price drop for my berg cab that has pretty much only been used in my home studio!
  5. I can assure you I am very across which Celinders are on the board
  6. Indeed - lovely basses Mikkel btw I'm on the lookout for a Celinder jazz so if you have one that's sitting under the bed unloved, drop me line! Has to be four strings and less than 9.5lbs in weight preferably.
  7. I'm still searching for the perfect J…and I will find it one day...
  8. Thomastiks! Love love love thomastiks...
  9. Ah the XL2, a fantastic bass. One of the greatest basses ever designed…have a bump for a bargain.
  10. Yup - had two, sold them both and miss them both...need another one soon!
  11. My first bass was a 1983 Japanese replica of the ash/maple/black blocks jazz bass variety under the Morris trade name. It was a shocking, shocking bass. Worse than your worst nightmares!
  12. Yup - Jamiroquai...odd band. Saw them at their height in around 95/96 at the Notting Hill Carnival and there was a charisma bypass happening on stage. Weird, given that he's a crafty mover. It sounded like terrible pastiche to me.
  13. Oooo, very nice indeed!
  14. Very smooth transaction. Thanks Steve!
  15. Indeed Kiwi - regarding rarity, load up the Steinberger database and search for XL25...doesn't occur much... http://www.steinbergerworld.com/serial-L.html
  16. Interesting bass. Do you find the thicker neck give this jazz a heavier sound? I love jazz basses but suspect that the thinner the neck, the weedier the tone?
  17. I wouldn't sell it
  18. Indeed - these are so eye wateringly rare. One of the great bass designs and unlike it's peers - Jazzes, Ps, Rics, Stingrays etc - they will NEVER be made again. Gold dust, hen's teeth, finite resource etc
  19. S'funny - I play a Rickenbacker and a Stingray and don't give a guff about people slagging either bass off as, um, everyone is entitled to their opinion. Also, the weak G string is present on most Stingrays I have tried. I had a '94 (now sold) that had a very weak G string. My Classic, on the other hand, is strong like bull Getting upset about people slagging off the model of your bass is a major warning that you need to get a sense of perspective. These brand specific websites are a fantastic source of information but the mildest criticism will nark off the passive aggressive obsessive compulsives that act as self-elected brand reps who see themselves as protector of Sterling Ball's honour etc etc (he can protect himself very adequately I'm sure).
  20. Indeed. On a rarity/collectable scale an XL25A goes up to 11…funny how Steinbergers don't get snapped up immediately. They are such fantastic basses…
  21. And a price drop to 1650 for this splendid bass!
  22. Good voice there…communicates the song well...
  23. Yup - it's a beauty...
  24. Price drop Monday Adamovic bump... Also open to jazz basses plus a grand!
