1. Another guitar on the block, a Ferrari red Charvel San Dimas. This is the Made in Japan version (not the Mexi). A great quality axe with hot Seymour Duncan pickups (JB in the bridge position), Floyd Rose, rolled fingerboard edges. Good condition No case - pickup/meet up preferred in Kent or London.
2. Learn this tune. It will become a feather in your cap and soon you'll be able to crow about it.
3. Here's the chord chart...best place to start http://overdrive.music.free.fr/audio/Tab/TabBasse/Chicken.jpg
4.
I like this one, I have been guilty in the past of just learning the notes to songs without understanding the chord changes that are happening.
A good starting place to learning how the chicken 'works' harmonically is to play the chord tones of each chord (root, third, fifth and seventh) as they cycle along through the song. If you do that, your ear will get a fix on many of the notes in the bass line (particularly the third, fifth and flattened seventh) that jaco plays over the changes which (I think) are all dominant 7th chords. A looping pedal is (I recommend the TC ditto) so useful in this respect. It's a great tune...
5. I would also recommend playing the chord changes on your bass along to the tune, then picking up the baseline after you've got the harmony in your head...

7. I'm geared up at the mo' but these are full on punk amps. Recommended
8. I used to have the combo version of this amp. I would whack the gain knob on full and do feedback solos that sounded like a 747 taking off. Fond memories!
9. Yup - If you have one, don't sell it. It will only get harder and harder to find another one!
10. Pleasure doing business and enjoy the cab!

18. I have one of these. It's fantastic. Great price and pretty much impossible to get as they were a special run...
19. Something for the weekend bump
20. I've had two 75RIs in as many years (both with maple boards). Great basses but my stingray gets all the work. Must. Learn. To. Dial. In. Jazz. Basses.
21. That is an interesting vid as both basses seem to be 75RIs so the body wood (ash), bridge and pups/pots should be the same on both basses. It would be interesting to see the neck swapped between the bodies to control for the wood itself... Personally, I have always found a clear difference in tone between maple and rosewood boards as far as jazz basses and stingrays go.
22. That's very interesting - clover machine heads on a lefty late 70s precision?
