Really nice tuner in near mint condition. The main features are that it is has a send and return, so can be used to split signals or as an fx loop, and has a switchable ‘vitaliser’ buffer that can be switched to true bypass. The actual tuner part is the excellent korg pitch black, which is embedded in the pedal. It can work anywhere from 9v to 18v and has a power ‘out’ to power pedals. No box but will be well packaged.

Any one tried an Ashdown 12 band 600 / MK 500 / JJB 500 ?

One theory about these clean amps not having ‘enough push’ or volume is that preamp dirt / grit / overdrive makes sounds louder because they create harmonics at frequencies our ears are much more sensitive to. You’d need a lot of clean power to compensate for the absence of a tubey or harmonically rich valve tone. Just one of many theories, no doubt. -
They posted this a day or two ago: ‘Active cab’ … we shall see!

Barefaced Facebook suggests they’re still developing a powered cab product.

maybe not an obvious choice, but the Hartke KB combos have a very simple set of tone controls that can be bypassed, making them not much more than a powered cab for bass.

Gotcha, my mistake. Thanks for that. Still enough for me in all likelihood.

I’m also curious about these. 500w at 8ohm would be more than enough for me. Does anyone know if the footswitch is midi? And if so could an external midi controller be used instead? Thanks all.

Olympic White with a custom made 3 ply tort guard. Great to play, pickups are double J humbuckers. Made in around 2011 I think. This is the first version of the Modern Player Jazz, with passive electronics and the classic VVT controls. Very clean condition with only a small ding on the edge, as shown. Local pickup is preferable but I’m happy to discuss a courier.

I always get excited by these threads! Can anyone suggest a good and simple way to cut the circles in the baffle? I have hole saw which will do the port, but I've never gone as far as the cutout for the driver itself. Thanks in advance.

For what it is worth, try leaving the multi fx at home for a few gigs while you try to get a sound you’re happy with just with a bass, amp and any Eq pedal or preamp you might be using. In this part of the process I’d avoid anything with menus and presets and try to get your core sound sorted and understand how to adapt that core sound to different settings with Eq, then add effects once you’re happy.

Does anyone else hear a click / artefact when big notes hit the LMB threshold? I used to get that when digging in on hot passive pickups, but I’m now wondering if I’m imagining it! I do love all other aspects of these pedals.

I’m slightly confused by the B6 and B2 Di features to be honest. Do any of the zooms allow pre- and post- fx recording over USB? And can the Di be used to send a pre-fx signal while the regular out send post-fx? Thanks guys.

Current EEP of choice is the zoom G1Four

After going through this cycle too many times I have settled on a small number of key pedals that cover 90% of my needs and an 'everything else pedal' (EEP) that is a multi FX plus tuner. That way my core tone is intuitive, stable and if GAS strikes individual pedals can come and go. The EEP means I don't need to buy an endless list of pedals I may use once in a blue moon. It all fits on a handsome compact board. I am happy!
