  5. You could use a vacuum bag to apply even pressure across the top, that way the laminate would deform to the shape of the body and the vacuum would apply 14.7 pounds of pressure per square inch
  6. 34" scale Body core: Black Walnut Top: Ziracote 3mm sycamore accent F/B: AI Mac Ebony pre amp: ACG DFM 4K Pickups: ACG multi coli (MC5) cant wait....
  7. An ACG Über Recurve 5 has been ordered.
  8. Thanks for all the help ladies and gentlemen. You have total NOT helped (too many good suggestions). I think i hanker for the good old days when there was a choise of 2. As part of my plan i've just shown my (Much) better half 3 basses. Wal mk3 5 string Fodera Emperor 5 ACG Uber Recuve 5 The bass she liked best was...... the ACG (tried to make sure they all looked similar) and she did remind me we are not rolling in it....
  9. Yep good point, means the risk of not liking the bass wouldn't cost lots of £££.
  10. Very good point, especially after waiting so long
  11. Dont know that Brand is it anything like 'What do you need another bass for, you can only play 1 at a time anyway'?
  12. I have though about and ACG, i had a Finn 5 for a while and loved it. The purpose of the post was to test my resolve and i must admit that an Über ART Recurve 5 could topple the Wal. I think i would feel awkward sending Alan a picture of a Wal saying build me your version of this. Are there any basschatters who own both, what is your view on the ACG over a Wal?
  13. 50th Birthday arriving this summer, so i've decided to get get myself another bass. Way back in 1989 i was in a music shop in Glasgow with only £500 and wished i had enough for a Wal selling for £800ish. That's an itch that hasn't gone away. Well it's now 29 years later and i think that's enough dilly dallying . With that in mind i thought i would test my resolve by asking the gentlemen of this parish two things What would you buy yourself for a 50th birthday prezzy? What bass has always called out to you, but could never afford it? For me it's a 5 string Wal
