1. Thanks for all the pointers guys, Thumb NT 5 arrived this morning thanks to Ted59 New set of strings and a setup is the task for today!
 2. Bass arrived this morning, thanks Ted59! All as described, in fact i think the bass is much better looking in person! Communication has been great, really quick to respond to emails. You can buy with confidence from Ted 59!
 3.
Exactly.... It sounds as good as it looks, and it plays even better IME of Roscoes.... +1 I've been entirely GAS free since I got mine (with the minor of exception of PantherAirSoft (Shep)'s utterly gorgeous Roscoe 6 string custom fretless Century Signature, which was an insanely good instrument....
I had made up my mind... Now look at me, a reck i tells ya. I wanted a thumb, but with the two warwicks i have i couldn't help but wonder if i dont already have enough "mid-range growl". I'm going to have to decide and just go for it or ma heed will explode.
 4. http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Roscoe_CS5J+.html ooo... Nice bass!
 5. Clover Argo 5.2 Five String? Anyone played one of these?
 6.
Good point made by humapuma (welcome to Basschat by the way) I've owned and still have some nice 35" scale basses but I really only feel at home when playing my SR5's which are 34", when first getting into 5 string I didn't think it would matter much what the scale length or string spacing was, I never worried about it with 4 strings, so I bought basses based on their looks or how they sounded thinking I'd get used to how they play but I've come to realise what suits me in a neck andwhat doesn't. So I'd add that when trying out basses make sure you get to try, 34" 35" even 36" if you have big hands and string spacing from 17mm to say 19mm, once you know what you like it will narrow down your choices.
Great point all my other basses are 34", i'm still dithering but i think it's the Thumb BO 5 for me and my funk.
 7. Cheers, Thanks for all suggestions, MM Fender is really tempting.
 8. Sunny Scotland, not today! Where in Scotland? I maybe interested, i was looking for a 5 string, but got to keep the options open
 9.
Since you seem to like your Warwicks, keep an eye on the for sale section on here and get yourself one of the older warwick 5ers that come up from time to time, 80s or 90s streamer/thumb with a solid wenge neck If that doesnt float your boat, what ball park are you interested in? Super Jazz? Custom build?
I've been thinking about it for some time in the short list is.

Dingwall ABZ 5
Warwick Thumb 5
Overwater Inspiration 5
Fender Marcus Miller 5
I was thinking maybe the Thumb but i do have two other warwicks so maybe something different. I was hoping to get so ideas from the forum.
 10. I looking for some ideas for a 5 string

Budget £1500-2000
What would you go for?
11. Well I think they're great, I added a 115 cad to get the full 300 watt, overdrive controll is a little 'metal' for me. I use a sans amp di for the drive but I do use the overdrive on the amp to add more mids. I have a practice amp that has been a bit dodgy and customer support has been very good. First time the practice amp failed they paid for carriage! Great sound for blues!
 12. I love mine, best tube like sound I've had
 13. Do you have a cost for shipping to UK or is it included in the £1500
 14. I have the mag c210-300 evo III, wIth out the added cab you can still get the warm tone given by Ashdown, its just more restrictive. I added a 115 for the warmer fat end and left the 210 for clarity and punch. It almost feels that the 115 has a slower response time, which is great for the warm fat tone, but I would definitely think that 2 15's would bet just too dull, mix it up, spread the risk, go for a cab with 10" and a tweeter
 15. Would you sell it? If so how about shipping to Scotland? I'm really interested in this, happy to buy! I've been searching for a 5 string bass. Your bass looks fantastic.
 16. i think its a bit like "you get what it says on the tin", solid chunk of wood with good electrics. I love the mid range growl, great with the SansAmp bass driver, but its the sum of the whole that counts.
 17. hey, lovely bass. would you be willing to ship to Scotland? Obviously i'll pay for shipping and insurance.
